Oh man... Beanie Babies story.

When I was little and my brother was little we were standing in line at the mall early in the morning with our mother to get some Beanie Babies. This was during the CRAZE. They let a whole bunch of people to the stand and it was a horrible MAD RUSH. My brother and I were just trying to get one of each, but there were people taking ARM FULLS and putting them in bags to buy and sell later for more, you know? Well, I reached in and grabbed one named Tabasco (I remember because of what happened... It was a red pig) and I got one. My brother reached in for one and this GROWN WOMAN grabbed it out of his hand. He was a LITTLE KID. He looked absolutely heart broken because of what happened (stupid lady) so I gave him the one that I got and we went to go pay for our Beanie Babies.

And that's that.

d2hiriyuu 12-28-2009 02:04 AM

Eyea 12-28-2009 02:04 AM

Holy crap! Eyea accidentally hit the F2 key and disabled her internet connection....then didn't know what happened.

Kirin Rosenbaum 12-28-2009 02:04 AM

Aw! That's just mean, How could a grown woman do that, and still wanna call herself mature? That's just ..Ugh, you should've followed her and beat her up.

blueblackrose 12-28-2009 02:05 AM

Hey people

Kirin Rosenbaum 12-28-2009 02:05 AM

Hey Blue.

d2hiriyuu 12-28-2009 02:05 AM

oops, yeah, adults were raving mad about them too.

Mobsy 12-28-2009 02:06 AM

Hello Blue!

LittleFiend 12-28-2009 02:06 AM

I know it was disgusting. And what's really terrible is you know that it's not like that was an anomaly... Grown people are like that all the time. :(

Kirin Rosenbaum 12-28-2009 02:06 AM

Fiend some adults suck.

M i n u x e 12-28-2009 02:07 AM

@Fiend: Wow horrible lady for doing that!
The beanie baby crazy days were intense. ><
I remember Tabasco! I never owned it though.

Hey bbr!

The Whitewolf Shaman 12-28-2009 02:07 AM

Oh my gosh it is SO cold outside...

LittleFiend 12-28-2009 02:07 AM

Yeah they do. It's unfortunate but it's just the way the world is.

Mobsy 12-28-2009 02:08 AM

When I was younger I used to think when I got older, I'd "Grow up" But now I know that's not the case, you age, but you don't mature.

LittleFiend 12-28-2009 02:09 AM

That's a good way of putting it. You age, you don't necessarily mature. I've met some very, very mature individuals under the age of 16 and some very, very immature individuals over the age of 40.

Kirin Rosenbaum 12-28-2009 02:09 AM

I donated almost all my Beanie Babies to an organization that helps counsel grieving children.

Growing old is mandatory growing up is optional.

star2000shadow 12-28-2009 02:10 AM

I aint EVER Growing up.

Eyea 12-28-2009 02:10 AM

Eyea still has that rainbow colored inchworm and the little purple bunny.

That's like the new hampster things. One of my mom's friends works at WalMart and bought 20 of them before they even got on the shelves, just so she could sell them.

Kirin Rosenbaum 12-28-2009 02:10 AM

I don't remember which ones I have anymore

M i n u x e 12-28-2009 02:11 AM

@Aaeza: That is so true, children are so naive.
It sucks to be old but not feel like you are 'being' your age.
Whenever I think of all the responsibilities I do/will have it makes me worry.

blueblackrose 12-28-2009 02:11 AM

Wow the thread has grown quite a bit since I was last on earlier today.

Mobsy 12-28-2009 02:11 AM

Well, Lades and Gents. I gotta make like a banana and peel out... That is.. If you guys want me to stay. I can always put reading off till tomorrow.
