Indeed. I'm perfectly fine with telling people I live in Texas, since it's a huge state. But I don't get more specific than that.

x-ollie 12-28-2009 10:32 PM

Ahh alright. My names Oliver, I'm 18 and from Wales,UK. *left of england* I enjoy games, -xbox,wii and online games. I enjoy football, i support cardiff city football club, football is like our soccer. You all know my girlfriend I think, Floatingfaggot, or Stephanie :) She's perfect 22.01.08 <3

In my spare time I like to go out with my friends to pubs and to gigs. I like all music but mainly metal, my faourite band is Bring Me The Horizon, or A day to remember. I don't dress stereotype-ly like a 'metal head' I like bright colours and style. I like character tops, but not just any, they have to be semi nice. I really want a job. Like in a shop, or in ICT seeing i'm studying that. I like the Fan girl game here. WOO LVL 21!!. I such at tetris :( I prefer old school gaming like Mario and Zelda to any games out now.

but most of all, I hope you all like me.

:O WOOO It got me like 12 gold!

steelmagghia 12-28-2009 10:34 PM

Haha, nice, Ollie. Though that's more specific than I'd have gotten.

With only a few days left before the first decade of the 2000's is over, I figured I would compile a list of the things that have annoyed me the most over this period of time.

Comic Book Hero Movies
There have always been super hero movies before the new millennium, classics such as batman and superman are probably some of the best known. However, it seems every screenplay writer for a comic book hero based film decided to turn in their work at the stroke of midnight on December 31st 1999. It seems to have all started with X-men in the summer of 2000, followed by a swarm of other superhero movies. It would seem they were all waiting for special effects technology to get good enough. To me that just means they knew the films would suck donkey balls so they had to wait until special effects would evolve to a point where they could mask the lousiness of their screenplays and leave everyone gawking at CGI of villains and explosions. We are now in the era of green screens, where it's okay to suck as long as people pay to see computer generated bad guys get beat up by computer generated good guys.

Perhaps the worst of the worst would have to be a choice between 'Spiderman 3', and 'Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer'. I would personally go for Spiderman 3, if only because of 'Emo Peter', if there's one definite way to rape the image of a classic super hero, it's to turn him into a hair-over-the-eyes emo with an attitude problem.

Granted, they didn't all suck. However, we live in a world of stereotypes and that's just something they'll have to deal with.

iPhones, other Apple products, and their Retarded Fan Base
Before the iPhone came on the market, I had no idea it was possible for men in their mid 20's to attain an orgasm by being first in a long line to purchase a so called 'smart phone'. If anyone can explain to me how a brand of electronic devices is capable of having a fan base crazier than those who follow rock stars around on tours, please enlighten me.

Unfortunately this does not stop at the iPhone. When I entered the world of graphic design, I had the misfortune of being introduced to a classroom full of people who religiously believe that Macs are the best. Not only do they dismiss the fact that for the same price as a Mac, you can build a PC with superior hardware (Apple just overcharges for their brand), but they go so far as to claim that software such as Adobe Photoshop can not run on windows. Yes, they actually claim this, and stand by it, despite the fact that I showed them photoshop running on my windows XP laptop.

Apple products, specifically their operating systems, are designed for the technologically challenged. Not surprisingly, most graphic designers fall into this category, so it's no wonder they view the commercial release of Mac OSX as the second coming of Christ.

I have to hand it to Steve Jobs, he sure knows how to turn a bunch of ignorant fools who otherwise wouldn't know how to turn on a computer into a source of revenue.

Windows Vista, and possibly 7
You know how much I hate Macs after reading the previous part of this article. Well, Windows Vista is Microsoft's attempt at getting a share of the pie from the less technologically inclined masses. All previous versions of windows were designed for people who knew what was going on. With a few clicks of the mouse, or a few commands entered in the console, you could customize every setting of your operating system. Vista and 7 on the other hand try to hide all of this stuff behind an overly elaborate user interface that personally, I find ugly. This attempt to protect people from ruining their OS by messing with options is pissing off the rest of us who like to customize every last detail of our system.

The Twilight Movies
Or more specifically, the countless swarms of hormone filled fan girls who contribute to the success of these films. There's not much to say about this. I just know something is not right when 12 year old girls offer their virginity to the lead male role of a crappy vampire film. I'm not even sure how he can be considered a vampire, he's out in broad daylight, has a reflection, and lacks many aspects of being a vampire. I'm pretty sure he's just a younger, weaker version of Superman expressing his teenage angst via the emo style and culture.

I was never a fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, nor Blade for that matter, however I would pay good money to see a movie where Blade and Buffy team up to kill every living creature, vampire or not, in the Twilight series.

Swine Flu (H1N1)
This is by far the most over hyped illness I've ever heard of. None of the facts point to it presenting a fraction of the danger described on the news stations. The symptoms of the normal flu are practically identical to swine flu. The normal flu kills a ton more people worldwide per year than swine flu. The only reason swine flu seems so dangerous is because every time someone dies from it, it makes front page news. To make that seem even more retarded, most of the people who die from swine flu already have some sort of medical condition making them more vulnerable. If swine flu hadn't done them in, something else probably would have, maybe even the normal flu.

Just live intelligently and in good health and ignore the bullshit spewing out of the television.

That's about it for my list. The 5 things that have pissed me off the most over the past 10 years of my life.

Can't believe how much I agree with all of this...

woohoohelloppl 12-28-2009 10:44 PM

Bye, ollie. :illgetu:

Swine Flu really isn't a big deal at all...
The thing that I hate most is how our school was on the news because of it.
A few months ago, someone in the band was sick with Swine Flu. Lots of other people got sick as well, but I believe it was not Swine Flu. I was also sick. There were about 70-100 kids absent, so we were on the news. The news specifically said "The SCHOOLNAMEHERE band has swine flu." They really love stretching the truth, huh?

Lost in Austen 12-28-2009 10:44 PM
