Facade 01-17-2010 02:15 AM

@Linnea: Exactly! Money may mean you can buy more crap than I can, but it doesn't mean you're any better! :squee:
Kids aren't meant to be raised like that. Which is why I'm evil and think that certain people SHOULDN'T have kids... >w>
Of course, my opinion doesn't matter. xD; But really, kids like that NEVER know how lucky they are!

Aww, Zephi! :(
That must be extremely hard for you... Ugh, I can only imagine what you're feeling!!

Zephi 01-17-2010 02:17 AM

Kids in italy are the worst though. I've seen them curse out their grandmothers in the school yard and random people on the vaporetto. Terrible. I wanted to throw them off the boat... O_O EVIL MUST DIE!!!

Yeah it does suck Facade, but it's just something that goes with the territoy I guess. :(

zeapear 01-17-2010 02:19 AM

Oh, that reminds me! In the school yard once I overheard that one of the snobbish girls was drinking her Mums vodka, AT THE AGE OF 13, 14!

Linnea 01-17-2010 02:19 AM

@zephi: yea i am up in the mornings with him, but so is his dad... i drop him off at school and have the afternoons off... unless i need to do a load of the kids laundry or do the grocery shopping or other such house errands... i pick him up after school and we do homework and his after school activities (4 out of 5 days) until his dad comes home between 730 and 8... it's not so bad... lately i have been napping in the afternoons lol

@facade: you are so right! those kids don't know how bad it can really be... i used to work at a group home too... and those kids clearly had a shitty life, you know, ending up in a group home can't be easy... but even those kids (mostly teens) thought that everyone owed them everything... and they acted the same as the snotty rich kids... i think it's the generation!! argh! what is this world coming to!!?
(i know that isn't true for all teens, i just think it's weird that both the really unfortunate and very fortunate are so alike)

Zephi 01-17-2010 02:23 AM

Heh.. i had to take the kids to school some mornings at early housr and pick them up. Usually I just picked them up. And then made lunch or supper. But their mom had EVERYTHING planned out. It was kinda scary how their lives were dictated like that. No randomness at all :gonk:. They could have been ok kids, actually really smart, bi-lingual, but they were so spoiled. The next nanny after me was freaking out. lol.. I felt bad for her. She was from England and had traveled the world teaching in 3rd world countries for work. She as nice. My friend on FB.... hmm...

Linnea 01-17-2010 02:25 AM

i bet after working with kids from third world countries she probably thought those kids were something else haha
the kid i watch, he also has no random time... the one day he doesn't have after school activities i try to take him to the park or something because he never really has the chance to act like a 9 year old... i feel bad about that... not that it is my fault, but i have to do what i'm told, ya know?

Facade 01-17-2010 02:28 AM

@Zephi: Yeah, I guess it does kind of come with the territory... Bleh, just sucks. I'd hate to be in that situation! D:
But you're doing a noble thing... Which is very respectable. Bugs me that people don't appreciate what you and tons of others are giving up! :illgetu:

@Linnea: Oh wow, those kids were like that too!?! Ugh, little brats. :stare:
I know I'm kind of on the edge of the current generation, since I'm seventeen and all... But I have enough knowledge of how shitty the world is to appreciate what I have! And my mom is a single parent, working her ass off and getting ZERO child support... My mom and aunts are all very independent women, and I guess all of their stories have helped shape my perception of the world. Although I'm still a lazy son of a bitch, don't get me wrong. :P But they've definitely contribution to how I act in certain situations.

Zephi 01-17-2010 02:29 AM

I get ya Linnea. I wish that I could have taken the kids to the park more but even at the park they kinda were in their own world and did what they wanted. My hubby's son is 9 now. I think he's great. I love him to peices and he play soccer after school I think. Him and my daughter get along really well ^^ The other nanny was an english teacher in thaliand and places like that. I wonder where she is now. She is really living it up. I'm kinda jealous...

EDIT: same here facade, which is why I get so defensive about the military and such when people try to bash it here on mene... get's my blood pressure up for real >.<

Linnea 01-17-2010 02:36 AM

my mom also raised me mostly on here own, with a very small child support check and she was super young too... she had me when she was 16... but i guess it's because people like us have come through the other side with help from strong people that we are able to take care of ourselves... i wish that all those rich kids and the kids who are wards of the state had that kind of experience and the end result too ... and maybe they'd be better human beings

*ahem* i kind of got a little righteous there... sorry guys *ahem*

Zephi 01-17-2010 02:42 AM

If only Linnea... but we both know that it won't really happen. I miss the good old days of respect, the yes ma'am and no ma'am and all that. When kids just moved out of your way because you were older than them, because that just doesn't really happen anymore. My daughter, I try to show her to be respectful but mostly I just have fun with her when I can. I'm more like a kid, when we go to the park, I'm playing with her. lol... I don't know where I'm going with this but yeah, if you CAN spend time with your kids, you should.

zeapear 01-17-2010 02:43 AM

Linnea 01-17-2010 02:46 AM

zephi, i know exactly what you mean... respect is something that got lost along the way... unfortunately... but we can only teach our kids so that they can grow to be decent people... but it starts with spending time with kids... you are spot on about that!

zeapear, that's such a cute puppet of facade!

zeapear 01-17-2010 02:46 AM
