I don't know, I'm still in a Native American rights mindset. Haven't thought much about gender issues lately. :)

Man, I hope we don't come to actual war over that. How stupidly ironic would that be?

Wings of Writing 04-27-2010 06:57 PM

lol. My favorite book of all time is based off the idea of what would happen if it came to war about abortion. that is a scary book!!

I think a lot about the gay rights issue actually, for all that it doesn't concern me. I just feel it's wrong. I strongly believe "love is love"

Cicadetta 04-27-2010 06:58 PM

 What book is that? Now you have me curious.

KittehMEW 04-27-2010 06:58 PM

As far as Kitteh is concerned it shouldn't be an issue because there is too much religious backing to the arguments. -nod- But Kitteh will say no more on it.

Wings of Writing 04-27-2010 07:00 PM

Unwind by Neal Shusterman. It is AMAZING!!

lol. well I could say all sorts of things about religion, but I won't. I'll leave it at i'm agnostic. but I believe in a god or a higher power. not very big on religion and worship

Cicadetta 04-27-2010 07:00 PM

No, it shouldn't be an issue, but people make issues out of non-issues all the time. (People are insane, and not always in good ways.)

But... yeah, anyway.

Wings of Writing 04-27-2010 07:01 PM

lol. let me see if I can find a link for the summer of the first page of unwind

KittehMEW 04-27-2010 07:01 PM

-nods- 'Tis a shame. I just wanna.... punch like all those people in the face. And tell them to shut their mouth, and go make a sandwich.

Cicadetta 04-27-2010 07:02 PM

Hrm. *Goes to get sample of Unwind.*

Okay, I can read the first few pages when I get home, now. :)

Wings of Writing 04-27-2010 07:08 PM

yay. I really highly recommend this book. No matter what side of the abortion argument are on. He isn't arguing one side or the other he's arguing the fact that there are sides and we fight over it so stupidly is the problem. I will warn you though if you end up reading it. That it is the most disturbing book I have ever read.

Cicadetta 04-27-2010 07:09 PM

I've read some disturbing books in my time, but I'll take that under advisement. Thanks. :)

Wings of Writing 04-27-2010 07:10 PM

lol. I have too. I mean I love dystopia novels, I've read some disturbing stuff, but this was. just wow.

Cicadetta 04-27-2010 07:11 PM

Dystopia books are great! :) Have you read Jennifer Government, yet?

KittehMEW 04-27-2010 07:13 PM

Kitteh wants to read a book...

Wings of Writing 04-27-2010 07:14 PM

Never heard of it Cica.

Cicadetta 04-27-2010 07:18 PM

Kitteh should read books! Books love Kitteh! :boogie:

Okay, first of all, language warning on it, Wings. Really, there are a lot of four-letter words. And there's violence, too, but as Americans, we are already desensitized to that, so... (Oh, and there are a couple adult situations, but they're off-screen.) Anyway, it's a satire. The United States has annexed like half the world, outlawed taxation, and it's corporate anarchy. The schools are sponsored and run by corporations like McDonalds and Mattel, the NRA is a major mercenary corporation... And you take the last name of your employer (i.e., if you work for Nike, then your last name is Nike.) It's... odd.

KittehMEW 04-27-2010 07:18 PM

KITTEH DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO READ~! :gonk:

Wings of Writing 04-27-2010 07:20 PM

That sounds really interesting Cica. Is it a movie?? and I don't really care about content. I'm an adult..well legally. I'm sure most people consider me a child still

Cicadetta 04-27-2010 07:20 PM

Okay, just covering my bases, Wings. It's not a movie, though. Unfortunately. I really want it to be.

KittehMEW 04-27-2010 07:21 PM

Cica teach Kitteh to read, yes? XDD

Kat Dakuu 04-27-2010 07:23 PM

you can't write if you can't read!! kitteh lies!

Wings of Writing 04-27-2010 07:23 PM

lol. Cica. Yeah. If it's a book I'll most likely encounter it at some point in my studies. I want my doctoratal studies to be over dystopia novels. I thrive off of them. My two favorite books are dystopia novels. i'm sure my top ten has at least 4 dystopia novels in it.

KittehMEW 04-27-2010 07:24 PM

:gonk: Stop being a jerkface, Kat.

Cicadetta 04-27-2010 07:25 PM

The cats, they are fighting again...

That would be awesome, Wings! Yeah, dystopia novels. And post-apocalypse/disaster, for that matter. They tend to overlap, but not always.

Kat Dakuu 04-27-2010 07:25 PM

you started it kitteh!!!
