Jeez, did I go and miss Zephi? :(
it appears so Cica. :(
And I have to respond to the Portal game, and... there's a new player in Witch Path who I don't know what to make of, and... I should probably study, or at least read and stimulate my brain somehow... Hrm...
oh yeah...rps. I haven't responded in the portal in a while have I?
I don't know. Victoriaewing game back, at least, so that helps. I actually do have something to respond to, but I haven't decided whether Teva would actually want to spar with the angel at this point. Not friendly spar, anyway.
I'll go look at it and maybe give you some nice stuff to respond to.
Okay. :) I'll probably respond tomorrow evening. After my test. I have two tests this week, neither of which I'm ready for. Hence the studying that I'm putting off...
yeah, I have poopie art project tht I'm putting off working on.
Yikes. Well, an art project sounds more fun than studying for a database test. Mehh, such a boring class.
well, I'm beyond sick of my project and did the rp just mention mole people? lol!
It did in fact mention mole people. And then the centaur got shiny new green horseshoes.
Writing a centaur character is weird. Have I mentioned that? |
I see that. I didn't realize I was so behond.
but you write her so well! why don't I find it strange at all to write a pixie? |
Hehh... I keep having to look up horse stuff is all! With pixies and angels and elementals and such, it's easier to, uh, wing it for some reason.
I guess so. I should have looked up some stuff about fairies, but I'm too lazy.
Fairies do seem more open to interpretation, though. You're going for more Disney fairy, as far as I can tell. Rather than urban fantasy fae. Urban fae are scary. oO
yes, I was always fond of tink. what are the urban type like?
hm...what to respond...hm hm.... |
The urban fae, or at least the ones I've read about, are scary dangerous magical creatures. Well, the fae in Tempest Rising by Nicole Peeler vary a little more, especially since pretty much all the paranormal people in that book are fae. Including the vampires. It's kind of awesome.
But in general, I think the urban fae tend to owe more to the older, scarier, less sanitized fairy tales than anything. Disney fae might not take quite so much research, if any. |
wow, that sounds pretty cool indeed.
true. I also write an ice fairy in another rp. she's not a pixie though and she's super awesome! |
^_^ If urban fae become the next big thing, it wouldn't shock me. Werewolves always get the short end of the stick. It's kinda sad.
Anyway, I should probably get a decent night's rest tonight. Best to be awake for tests and such! Night! |
but I love my wolfies!! ARROOOOO
I'm incredibly late for sure, but night? |
How do werewolves get the short end of the stick? I don't get it Cica. I love werewolves. If I *aaaaaah.. i just sneezed all over the keyboard* could become some sort of creature from a bite or curse or something like that, I'd want to become a werewolf. Don't have to sleep all day and there's just that tiny problem about the full moon but that's just a once every 28 days kinda thing ^^
Morning Zephi! I love werewolves, too. :) They just don't get the attention the vampires do for whatever reason, and that sucks. Really, there are vampires everywhere! On TV, in the movies. The vampire series just seem more popular than the werewolf ones for some reason, in spite of the fact that all the best vampires are in the werewolf books, anyway.
*wants Kitty Norville movies, darn it* |
I think it really goes through cycles and phases. And it slowly transitions. I know when Teenage werewolf was out and then an american werewolf in london and some other werewolf movies, then Underworld came out and the power seemed to shift to the vampires. I guess it's the whole pale and sickly looking, only come out at night, dress all in black kinda thing that draws the youth to it. People are always writing books about both, I guess the werewolves kinda fall under more carnal and "furry" things... I know I read one book about an indian girl who could turn into a jackal type thing and she was living around the werewolves. But it was a romance novel so... she ended up falling for a werewolf somehow.
I always remember those werewolf things as people turning into the two-legged hairy monster kind, though. The current urban fantasy trend is the four-legged variety. Some monstrous, some not, but four-legged? Always. Though I guess the Underworld werewolves were four-legged, mostly. I could be remembering wrong, but the UF wolves are often less monstrous, more animal-like.
I mostly like that they're alive, not, well, dead. You're not thinking of the Mercy Thompson books, are you? Mercy is a half Native American shapeshifter, who sees ghosts, turns into a coyote, and has been raised by werewolves. Those are great books. Just finished reading the latest one, actually! I wouldn't characterize that as a romance series, though. There's enough adventure to balance it. |
Let's call it an adventure romance then. I only read one book, which one was it. I think I have it around here somewhere actually... *goes to look* Why yes my dear you would be correct. I have "Moon Called" I didn't know that there was more than one book. And I think in this one her and her "sexy" neighbor go on a romp through the woods ;) Looking at this book again makes me want to watch the anime "Wolf's Rain" I never really understood that from the beginning but it has something to do with the wolves that live in society and pretend to be human, moon princess, trying to save her. I have no idea really. I jusmped into it in the middle.
Being dead just isn't really that cool. <.< And living forever... I could take a long long time, but forever is just a bit much. I guess it really does depend. I think the werewolves in Twilight are bigger? I have only seen commercials though. I much prefer a good dragon story, but it would have to be one of my own because I have pretty set in stone ideas about my dragons. I don't even really like how other people portray them. *sniffles* Kat got me sick over the internet :gonk: |
