haha. then you should be glad they didn't accept my younger brother! also be glad he's not going to UT san antonio because he was going to go there.
|
Is your brother planning on being a lawyer?
|
hell no. but I don't know what he's really planning on doing.
|
lol...don't talk to him much?
|
no, but doesn't matter since he constantly changes his mind. that's why he's been out of school for a year.
|
It's hard to figure out what you want to do with your life....
Seems like you don't have a lot of time to make that major decision. |
yeah well, my dad is threatening to kick him out of the house if he doesn't go to school next semester. he's mostly said he wanted to go to New Mexico tech, then not, then did, then won't send in his application, then he wants to go to UT even though that's not the best school for whatever science he wants to do, then he wants to go to New Mex tech again....
me? I don't know about that. |
I meant "you" in general.
It's a big decision to make. But sometimes you have to just jump in and try things out. |
ah.
being lazy or procrastinating and all that changing your mind before you even start is bad I think. better to start and then change your mind a little later. |
Sounds like good advice.
You'll never know until you at least TRY. |
not even that. you just need to start moving and it's not difficult to solidify things later. it doesn't need to be solidified to start.
|
That's true.
I changed my mind a couple of times in college. It was mostly narrowing things down. |
it's not that hard to transfer schools, especially if they're the same type of school. you don't even need to declare a major at the start for most schools. I mean, so what's the hold up?
|
He'd better get started.
Are you parents paying for tuition and stuff? |
yes. there was also money left to us by my grandpa and we have CD's to help pay for stuff.
|
That's good then.
He should totally take advantage of that! My hubby wanted to pay for his kids to go to college. Both of them went a little, and then declined. They just didn't realize what a great gift hubby was trying to give them. |
I don't know why you wouldn't accept help paying for college. O_o
|
They both just decided that college wasn't for them.
Neither one had to pay a dime, so they really didn't have any "skin" in it. His son tried being a truck driver, and other things. But it wasn't until later that he decided to go back to school and be a nurse. When he had dropped out of school, he basically told his Dad to stay out of his life, so hubby said "You're on your own". So later when he went to nursing school, he had to scrape and work extra jobs to pay for it. Hubby didn't help. They're on good terms now though, and I think his son is more proud of his degree because he did it himself. |
I see. the idea that you can not go to school has mostly faded now. my cousin dropped out after year and joined the army, but mostly education is very important in my family.
|
I think education is VERY important!
It also gives you the discipline you need when you're out in the job market. |
you can barely be a trash man without going to college it seems. you can't get any job.
|
Just flipping burgers...
|
yeah and people will still look down on you for flipping burgers without pimples on your face.
|
I know....it should only be kids doing that, right?
|
that would be the preference.
