good morning thread. anyone here? *gives thread some lovin'*

Jeannesha 04-18-2013 07:50 PM

Holy cow...almost an entire month with no posts!

Kat Dakuu 04-18-2013 08:08 PM

you finally deciding to post in other places?

Jeannesha 04-18-2013 08:12 PM

lol...I was sorry for the poor thing.

Kat Dakuu 04-18-2013 08:14 PM

you should be. so many places are dead! why does no one else ever post here?

Jeannesha 04-18-2013 08:26 PM

Wingsy and Linn were saying that they don't post here anymore.

Kat Dakuu 04-18-2013 08:30 PM

well, wingsy doesn't post anywhere half the time. but why doesn't linn post here?

Jeannesha 04-18-2013 08:31 PM

I don't know.
You should ask her!

Kat Dakuu 04-18-2013 08:32 PM

I just might.
either that or I just need to find new hangouts because none of them are alive.
I've been living in all the other little forums and quests almost entirely.

Jeannesha 04-18-2013 08:33 PM

I think that hummy is catching up to you for top poster.
She's gunning for that spot!

Kat Dakuu 04-18-2013 08:34 PM

she can have it. I really don't want to be the top poster. I feel ridiculous with how many posts I have and yet I purposely don't hang out in large threads.

Jeannesha 04-18-2013 08:35 PM

lol....but the reason she's catching up is that your other threads are dead.

Kat Dakuu 04-18-2013 08:36 PM

true, but I guess I don't care about that much. I still manage to post.

Jeannesha 04-18-2013 08:37 PM

I doubt that I'll ever totally leave Mene.
I just enjoy it too much.

Kat Dakuu 04-18-2013 08:43 PM

me either. I want to try to revive all the dead places around here, but I'm not having much luck. It seems you can't create a new thread and not ping people it/tell others about it if you want people to post there.

Jeannesha 04-18-2013 08:43 PM

I don't think there's anything wrong with pinging people to a new thread.

Feel free to do that to me anytime you want to.

Kat Dakuu 04-18-2013 08:48 PM

I don't think so either, though if you say...create a new thread about a tv show....
there are right people to ping for certain things. actually, the only thread of mine that I've made recently that is doing well is a writer/rper hangout that's invite only. I think because it's invite only, people see it as special and stick around.

Jeannesha 04-18-2013 08:51 PM

That must be.

I don't like when people ping their allfriends list.
That way you get people who may not be right for the thread.

Kat Dakuu 04-18-2013 08:56 PM

oh yes. I've unfriended people before because of the allfriends ping. especially since some times it's a person I haven't talked to in a long time. I don't like being pinged much because people are always pinging me to places I don't want to be.

Jeannesha 04-18-2013 08:58 PM

But I've never minded when somebody has pinged me personally..
Cuz that means that actually wanted ME, and not just a group of people.

Kat Dakuu 04-18-2013 09:03 PM

I don't feel like that sometimes though. some people ping me because I have the most posts. like....*looks around and whispers* I don't want to say names, but Hummy pings me all the time and almost always with the title "top mad poster". Like, if Kat joins in, our thread will get really far. But I hate big, fast threads like that and I've said it multiple times.

Jeannesha 04-18-2013 09:06 PM

Ah, I understand.

Sometimes I like fast threads...it allows me to throw in a couple word post and then leave again. Like a drive-by posting.

But you can't really carry on conversations very well.

Kat Dakuu 04-18-2013 09:10 PM

I do like conversation. real conversation. and not having to quote a person's posts just so they can see when you're talking to them. Some of the people who always chat in threads like get in the habit of brief simple posts that even in places that are slow, they still talk like that.

Jeannesha 04-18-2013 09:12 PM

I know...I rarely quote a post.
So in the fast threads sometimes it seems like I'm making an inappropriate statement.

Like somebody will say something amusing, and I'll say "That's funny!"
But meanwhile while I'm typing somebody else posts that their grandfather just died.
