I joined Mene a few months ago (I can't remember the actual date, sadly), and am tired of not having any real goals for my hard-earned gold. So, I've decided to start my own quest thread! I'm a 21-year-old English major. My birthday is March 20th! So, to get the conversational ball rolling a bit, I'm going to post Something Totally Awesome I found today: Discuss: 1) How long do you think it took to set all that up? 2) Why did they set it up? 3) Would you do it? 4) And seriously, HOW EPIC IS THAT!? Also, it made me think of the "It's a Jeep thing, you wouldn't understand" bumper stickers that I've been seeing everywhere lately. Would you really want to understand the "Jeep thing"? HAY, MAN. Speaking of Veruca Salt, which film version did you like better--the Gene Wilder, uber-trippy one or the one with Johnny Depp and his Daddy Issues? EDIT: I was wondering if it's acceptable to double-post with something on-topic to bring the thread back to page one? Honestly, I like both of em. The Gene Wilder one, hell, I grew up with that one. It's a classic and will always have a spot in my heart. I did like the Johnny Depp one was fun for what it was. It was trippy and weird, but I still had fun with it. I know a lot of people hated it...Meh...I had fun... |

I liked both as well, and comparing the two is sort of like trying to compare apples and oranges (forgive the cliche). I think the Gene Wilder version will always have a place in my heart just because it's so weird and wonderful, but the newer one is awesome in that it follows the book more closely. That, and Helena Bonham Carter is pretty much a MILF (in the film and irl). ;p |
My fiance totally just assumed that because I have a pic of our kitty on the front page of this thread, I want a hat made out of him. Lulz! Also, I've managed to buy two hats so far! Huzzah!

I'm putting "Mad as a Hatter" on hiatus for the moment, because I realized that I have very little in the way of actual clothing. My new quest is "Whink at Me"; I'll be questing most of the pink&white items on Menewsha. I will return to MaaH once I'm finished with this quest and have more of an actual wardrobe. :)
