*is hiding* :ninja:
|
@Terrena: The site said something like vera means truth or life depending on the situation and yes the rest is correct.
@LLonka: Pounces, humps. |
But...llonka-llonka isn't allowed to hide!
Oh...and by the way...I've done dubbed you llonka-llonka now. XD |
kukon- O.O
bahaha that's fine terrena!! :hug: |
@LLonka: You said not to scare you.
|
kukon- i am scared. see!-----> O.O
|
@Llonka: Well, I'll just not greet you next time then >.>
|
kukon- aww its ok. lol. so what you doin?
|
Kukon: *pulls out Latin dictionary* Vera isn't even in this. and from that, both are subjects....the closest would probably be ver, veris which means "spring" or "spring-time of life."
Or... verax, veractis which means "speaking the truth" or "truthful." But I don't think any of the endings end in an a for those words...and I think both are adjectives... *shrugs* It's been quite a while since I've been in Latin so I don't remember all the declensions and what not anymore. XD llonka-llonka: :D |
terrena- so how's the g-pa?? what you been up to while you were avoiding me?? LOL (j/k)
|
Kukon: Actually I just dug around the internet...it is an adjective! XD And then I looked up the correct word in my dictionary. lol.
It is verus, vera, verum. Vera is the feminine one. It means "true," "real," "genuine," "just," "right," or "proper." Ahh...Latin...why must you be so very tricky and have 20million translations for one word? And have so many words that look alike...and have a bunch of words that means the exact same thing! XD llonka-llonka: I guess he's doing okay. We've kinda stopped going up there. XD Also the semester has started for me. Someone give me a word to look up in my Latin dictionary for yall! I'm bored and this sounds like fun. lol |
terrena. ahh still upset at him? understandable though. oh yeah! how's school going??
|
@Terrena: Guess the translator was wrong then o.o
|
llonka-llonka: It seems to be going okay currently...but that can always change. XD
Kukon: Possibly. That's why I will do quick searches online then look them up in an actual Latin dictionary (or Latin text book but since I don't have one of those...that doesn't help any. XD) |
@Terrena: Well, now I feel stupid. I"ve been telling people it means life or death. >.>
|
terrena- that true.
guess i better go spend some time with hubby. i've been on here a lot the past couple night. i'll be back! *poofs* |
Kukon: or? "et" means "and."
And I'm starting to think your mortus is supposed to be mortuus which is also an adjective. If you want life or death...umm...I think both would be nomnitive (subjects)...so it would be "vita aut mors" or "anima aut mors" depending upon which "life" you want. Anima also means "air," "breeze," "breath," and "soul." Vita also means "living," "manner of life," and "the course of life." But I'm thinking you might want anime instead of vita. llonka:llonka: Aww...okay. Laters! :D Edit for Kukon: Although I just though of you could have "aut anima aut mors" which is "either life or death." |
@Terrera: Meh either way, my email is messed up now. :(
|
I'm sorry. :hug:
But hey! The only people who will know are you know and anyone else who knows latin! So keep on telling people it means what you want it to mean! :D |
@Terrena: "Works for me!" Huggles.
|
:D
I think I am going to get off of here. I'm starting to get a headache and I will have to head off to the shower and go to bed soon anyway. Laters, Kukon! |
@Terrena: Okay.
|
*sprays coconut air freshener* ahhh....
|
Random..XD
|
