My alter-ego is Sil. She's one of the first characters I ever made...(like, the third). She's the one I can cosplay as easiest...but I'd need bangs for that XD

Ahaha. No one character comes into all my roleplays; because I do fantasy and realistic and sci-fi ones, they can't always cross over :P Plus different living habits with each of my characters. Though we could potentially bring Sil into ours...

I feel like a newbie to Menewsha even though I joined early last year. =P I've been role playing for several years now. I go back and read some old role plays I've saved and cringe at the horrible grammar, spelling, and stupid ideas I had, lol. I'm very happy that I've gotten better in writing since those times. |

I started role playing back in high school, when I started getting into online communities and chats, Animelab being my first chat and Gaia Online being the first online community. I did very bad one liners and such on Animelab, due to the text box situation and the fact I was starting out. Once I got to Gaia Online, I got a little better, but was still at a lower level. But I kept up role playing on Gaia Online and I'd find other threads that people role played together in. Some of them were very literate groups. I decided that I wanted to do that too, so I kept it up, practicing. I applied what I learn in my English classes through the four years high school. Then I found another site, a more chat feel too it, but people are very literate on there. That helped me grow more as well. Now I'm a literate role player, which makes me very happy. But I don't let it get to me. I always look at my role play posts and say, "I bet I could do better than that" and keep on going. I've found role playing is another source of help and practice for just my writing skills in general. I do other things now to keep my writing up to par as well. Fanfiction, poetry, or any sort of writing exercises I've learned throughout the years. I've taken a few more English courses in college as well. I couldn't find any to take though for this last semester. I'm sad that I'm graduating this May. Even though I've got history with writing and enjoy it so much, English is not my major, lol. I'm a Digital Media major. [/ramble] |
Pretty interesting history. I personally like short posts, but that's because I started off roleplaying in real life, where all you really had were actions and dialogue. But, hey, whatever floats your boat, right? XD

Yeah. =P I used to be very big on short posts but once I started watching literate role players, I admired them and adapt into one of them. Now I hate short posts. XD Especially one liners, lol.

For me, the feeling I was still actually living the roleplay is very important, so I hate long and overly descriptive posts (especially anything over two paragraphs) and get a little bored with five sentence posts if all they really say is thoughts. I like thoughts to come out in dialogue because I hate repeditiveness, so reading it a second time irks me :P

I edited the character to fit the time period. I hope you don't mind magic. And her parents are religious so I don't think I want to change the picture. It adds to her character. |
Hm... I wonder if I'll ever find someone that will role play the Boondocks with me. ;) I know I might be the only person in RPA that watches crazy shows like that. XD! I am so into crazy shows. ^_^;
