Basically for the same reason that crazy said; I do want to run my own business in the future, and business school would be really helpful in that respect. And what's more, previously I have not had any very definite goals. Writing books is a nice idea and everything, and definitely something that I still aspire to, but for that I would need to have a more stable source of income in the meantime, until I got famous and everything. XD
*Mai kids... maybe* But yeah, just because I might change my major does not mean that I do not want to write anymore. O 3o It just means that I have made a new decision about my life. And it is one that I am feeling excited about, one that I can motivate myself towards. I am going down to Career Services tomorrow to hopefully figure out more about my goals, school and career-wise, there. 8D |

That's not what I was asking though lol It wasn't so much I thought you were going to write novels all your life, but just writing in -general-, since that's all you've talked about since I've known you~ I guess my real surprise was that you put your heart and a hell of a lot of effort into something that you're not even doing anymore~ I mean, all that talk of novels, and then you decide you're better suited for business haha Just was an oddity that honestly threw me off~ I mean, I get it -- not saying it's wrong, I just found it strange you were going in a COMPLETELY 180 direction haha That was my question, WHY did you suddenly decide to quit with the writing major and turn to business. It wasn't what you planned on doing with the business degree, that's been repeated too many times to count and doesn't answer my question at all. lol Actually, just never mind, it really doesn't matter XD; |
I tell you what: I wish I hadn't majored in accounting. a lot of good that damn degree has done me. I should have taken my passion and majored in english. I always wanted to be an english teacher. or even art. I was really good at one point. or science and become a science teacher! needless to say, I would rather have been a teacher.

I guess another way I could say it is that I have re-evaluated my long-term goals. Because, as I said before, previous to this way of thinking, I did not really HAVE any goals because I did not know what I wanted to do. Or rather, I did know what I want to do, but I put off thinking I wanted to do it because I thought it would be too hard. O 3o;; But now I have a lot more confidence in my own abilities, and I know I can make it in this degree if I work at it... I just need to try. You know? Um, did that answer your question at all this time? XD *Mai really is trying to answer it* I know I have a level head on my shoulders, I am good at problem-solving, or at least brain-storming to solve problems, I can handle money, I enjoy interacting with people, I am a quick learner, when I apply myself to something I do my best... And I love books and tea, so hence the bookstore and tea house idea. XD |

I merely was asking what the sudden change was/what made you realize you wanted to do that instead of write~ Then finally I just said screw it because it was getting into a lengthy discussion over nothing and was getting no where XD; But yes, that answers my question~ |
but I enjoy lengthy discussions that go nowhere! it's kind of like every episode of the Road Runner or Tom & Jerry ... I don't like either show, but that is beside the point ;)

well, I had my physical therapy this morning for my hip. went to the Dollar Store for Christmas paper and tags. went to the Bread Store for some bread and pie. got my kid off the bus to find out how bad he was in school. had to call and tell my class I couldn't make it because my son is being too much of a brat to make any of my friend's watching today. so I'm here!

it went pretty well. it really wiped me out though. they increased a bunch of my exercise reps and added a new exercise and we scheduled some more appointments for this month. I am having better stability in my right hip and it hurts less often, so that is great.
I hate doing profiles and page layouts. I used to do it so much that I'm burnt out. |

Ummm... Basically we took a trip out into the community and we are supposed to be writing about what we saw, heard, and learned. Except I did not get anything out of that trip, so I will have to BS this paper all the way. D8 Our professor can be very... idealistic at times, you could say? In that she EXPECTS everyone in the class to be enlightened and excited about the trip, but it was more of a chore.
Oh well. Off to put my nose to the grindstone. *Mai toddles off* |
