I understand that - I just removed a huge load of items from my quest thread because a friend of mine is quitting and gave me all the CIs and EIs she had [the ones that I didn't].
It's very relieving to cross stuff off, no? :D And izzokay! I understand - I don't have a lot of time these days, either. ^^;; Haha, and that's all you can do sometimes. I'm glad you're able to calm yourself down about it - that takes serious self-control! |
Oh that's awesome!!
Congratulations!! Oh most definitely - when you go for too long without crossing something off you start to get this feeling of "I'm never going to finish this quest.... am I..." when you look at your gold and then at your quest list lol! Definitely not fun! Haha So I hear! Just saw your post in Clair's thread haha -thought I had asked it but wasn't sure, but apparently I did!- :P Good luck with it hun! I can only imagine how stressful and time consuming that must be! Do you host any of the contests yourself? Exactly :3 We're only two people and we can't control everything - we'll fill the store up with product one way or another, we just have to accept that not everything is going to be up and ready to go in the shop due to delays in shipments :3 It'll still work out - just have to do what we can in the mean time :3 |
Emma: Freshly made stuff for edibles...nice to know that it would be fresh! :D
|
Yup yup!
We make everything in that category fresh products :3 And we're purchasing it all locally instead of outside the country/state etc., which really helps out the local businesses :3 |
Yep!
We actually have a mixture at our store. Some local, some from other parts of the state, some of out of the state, some from out of the US. But then we're also a health food store and none of our products have hydrogenated oils in them. :D But our meat is local...from Polyface Farms...in which when they do tours, a lot of the people come here because we also cook some of their stuff (like eggs and sausage and sometimes other stuff as specials) in the eatery portion of the store. I know we also have a granola that is made local...and some soaps...we'll also have locally grown produce...but that's normally only in the summer sometimes and it's only for the grocery. |
Haha We're not a grocery store or anything like that - we're a gift store :3
But we do bouquets such as cookie bouquets and cookie gift baskets and other such products that involve cookies :3 And we also have fudge and chocolates in some of our baskets and bouquets as well, and those are all locally made, which is really nice :3 I mean, they're a few hours away, and some are across the state, but it's still within NY so it counts as local :3 They're amazing quality, though, so it's great that we can do deals with them for our products! |
You're making my mouth water!
It sounds good! :D We don't really carry gifts...except for during like some of november and then december. We do sell tourist stuff like postcards and have a little travel section. XD |
Haha Our facebook page has some pictures of our candy cakes and some sucker bouquets, but we haven't really made any of the other baskets/bouquets yet (due to no room in the house and waiting to move into the store so we didn't have so much to cart over) so those won't be up for another week or so :3
Haha Our specialty is unique gifts <3 I absolutely love doing arrangements <3 It's my favorite part of what we do :3 I can't arrange flowers because I'm allergic, so we figured out all of these bouquets and such so I can put my arranging skills to good use <3 It's very fun :3 Hahaha! What kind of gifts do you carry during those months? |
Awesome!
Like...tea gifts...special tea cup/ tea sets and whatnot...umm... fans (folded), ornaments, more stuff in our new age section, more jewelry, special candy, more wine accessories, flasks (although I think we are starting to sell those year around now), and other special holiday items. We also make little stocking stuffers from food that we do already sell such as yogurt raisins and yogurt pretzals, and chocolate. |
Ohhhh - Gotcha :3
Sounds interesting! I'd love to see the tea cup/tea sets :3 And the fans as well - I've never seen any sold around here haha |
lol
I don't know if she has any old pictures on Facebook...she may...or may not...she will take weird pictures...most of the time not in focus either. :/ |
Hahah Oh no - that's fine!
I just meant in general I'd like to see tea sets - I adore them but they're not really sold around here lol |

I guess you can view it...there's some of the tea pots, cups, and sets as well as some other things. This seems the be the only holiday picture that shows goods instead of just signs or people. XD |
Ohhhh - those kind of tea pots and cups?
Not at all what I thought you were talking about lol They're not genuine tea sets like I thought you were talking about :3 |
We have had them. And chopstick sets as well (with like the ceramic chopsticks with little plates and those things that you place the chopsticks on the hold them up).
|
Haha Gotcha :3
I have a pair of chopsticks somewhere - got them from an asian food store I buy pocky from :3 Don't know where they are right now though xD; |

I normally host contests during events, but this year since I'm handling the entire event [forum creation and all the guides, currency creation and percentages, and the hardest part - item creation and uploading them piece by piece to the admin panel], I'm doing a small thread and a hangout only. I'm handing out tricks or treats to people who visit my thread, and my co-staffers are running the contests. XD;; And you can always highly promote what you do have at the moment - working with what you have is what I assume is a big portion of being in sales. 8D |
Oh nos :(
That's the same boat I'm in! My stuff is mainly V-Day 07/St. Patty's 07 and other such EIs :( </3 Ohhh Haha Jeez - you're really doing everything! Can't another admin help out with that stuff? Yeah, but if they walk in knowing what else we have to offer and all they see filling up the store is a bunch of the same 4-5 products, it's going to be very disappointing and a very bad impression :( |
Variety is a must in a store.
If it is just repeats of the same few items, most people would not return unless they want to buy another of what they bought. |
Hey there Emma!
You look grandiose! How have you been? c; |
@Terrena: Precisely, but it's difficult when you don't have that kind of money to spend thousands dollars on product supplies, simply because you're waiting on grants that should have been in at the beginning of the month. It's very frustrating :(
@Baby: Hiya hun! Thank you very much <3 You remind me of the spirit of a warrior gargoyle! Love it <3 I've been busy and stressed haha Feel like I'm running around with my head cut off more often than not :( But hey - that's what happens when you're opening a store in 11 days lol |
You're welcome. c:
And haha thanks, I didn't notice that till you mentioned it actually. XD Aww darn stress sucks. :c Ooooh you just opened your own store? Like a convenience store? :0 |
You're welcome!
LOL! What did you envision it as? Lol No - not until Nov. 5th :3 And No xD; It's a unique gift shop :3 -points to WWW and profile for details- |
Emma - Yeah, I'm after two of the V-Day '07 items. *sighs*
Maybe one day we'll reach our goals. <3 Well, the thing is... I'm the only admin left. ^^;;;; And it's not my place to promote any of the mods to admin status to help. But thankfully, I got in touch with the site owner last night and now she's helping to create items. :] That's true, but what if they don't know everything you have to offer? What if they are first-time customers? I understand that it must be very stressful, though - I really hope all your inventory comes in soon so you don't have to worry about that anymore. <3 |
Hopefully!
Would definitely be nice <3 If only they weren't so MIA and expensive though :gonk: Oh yikes! That's gotta be tough.. o.O; No no - I totally get that :3 Definitely only the place of the owner :3 At least you got into contact with her! That's a lot of work to throw onto one person, and I think it's a bit wrong that you got thrown into that situation :/ Hopefully she considers making more people admin! We have a website/facebook page/twitter page and it's posted all over our cards, on banners, in the newspaper etc. We've already gotten a ton of local orders so far (from our website), so it's pretty common knowledge what we have to offer :3 Still, I do get what you mean though :3 It's coming together, we're picking up some inventory on Wednesday instead of getting it shipped, so that'll help some :3 Just have to wait for our grants and the rest of our inventory to come in before we can really get our store together though! It'll work out, though, for now :3 Plus, we only plan to be in this storefront for 2 years max. This place is ridiculous and we're getting more and more fed up with the lack of management/authority etc. :( But, it'll work for now until we can get something better in the future :3 |
