Hmm... I suppose... but I'm not a hardcore gamer... I'm just the type who likes playing a game. Some people are extremely competitive game-wise... *has played some*

It'd be fun to work with finding bugs and such, but I'm sure you have to have a massive amount of computer programming and stuff to do a job like that... *failed C++*

fuyumi_saito 01-26-2010 04:20 PM

Well, not necessarily. I'm sure there are people who never went to college and do that stuff. Always story of that stuff. Well you can be one of those people that punches in numbers all day.I don't know what that job is called but yeah.

Haven't you ever taken one of those tests that tells you what you should do for a living? They tend to be pretty accurate. I know of one you can do if you want to.

The Wandering Poet 01-26-2010 09:34 PM

Hmm... but they want experienced people... how else would they measure it? o.o

^^" accountants?

Yeah I took one but basically it summed up as counseling, foreign languages, and animals as my main fields... took quite a few tests though... but that was the main one...

fuyumi_saito 01-27-2010 05:02 AM

well not always. No not accountants. Like those programmer people and whatever those other people are called. Accountants do more than punch in numbers *annnoyance* We also have to use formulas to figure out things like ratios, and we use balance sheets, and we do a lot of other stuff too.

hm well maybe you should try working at a zoo or something.

drying to a dark crimson
the cut on my feet
left by the chains
still stains my skin
like coffee on a white shirt

forever scarred
forever lost
the pain that shots through me every time I think of past incidents
I don't want to remember
I want to forget
Though the scar may be covered and fade a little with time
it will forever remain on the inside
I can't erase the words from the board
they seem to stay there no matter how many times I go over them
Frustration and pain
I want it to end
yet there is no end to this cycle of loss
keep going and lose more
gain much but still have loss
the past the present the future
even if I live for the future I will never forget the past
the present is where I work so hard
my feed begin to ache
with every single step I take towards the doorway
that leads me to you
I can't go on
but I must
I force myself through the pain
through the heartache and suffering
slowly building a wall around myself
that I'm afraid I won't be able to take down when I finally reach you

strange_dreams_512 01-27-2010 07:35 PM

Filidhe- Welcome (=

Fuyumi- >.<" I hope you don't really feel that way.... D: (speaking of the poem)

Kaze- oh np : o it's the same with like... if you can see the light in someone's eyes, it makes it feel more alive. Without it, it can be more dull and as far as with writing, not as easy to imagine... But to have things like.. grass tickling their skin or their skin being a vibrant shimmery gold or caressing someone's face. it puts more life and meaning into it : o and yes lol the topic is intriguing of course
yay someone visited 8D
I know baby.. but there will be less drama after a while when everyone goes their separate ways like me moving in with you and my sister won't stay for too long either. The most dramatic it can be with reason after a while is lonely for her.... but really, if we don't complain too much about what she did wrong in the past then she will be more prone to react the same way towards us. Right now it's that I did something that freaked her out and she got defensive about what I'm allowed to do and I got defensive and you did when she talked to you and it doesn't create for a very good mood, yknow? But things will change, hopefully with her for the better. I don't plan on holding a grudge against her. The most is really being confused and not talking...
Btw she's right about the job stuff... it's just a matter of finding the one you want to pursue. There are certainly jobs like what you have described. I personally haven't looked into it immensely but I know that there are for sure jobs that value accuracy more than speed. There are also jobs that value creativity the highest. Or competition the highest. Or mechanical skills. Or punctuality. And sometimes what is valued highest is knowing how to spend money. Or how to talk to people. There are all sorts of jobs, really. If you are interested enough then by all means, go for a programming job. Or it can be something else... for now, until you can get a better one.. really just something that you are content with would be really helpful. But your potential doesn't stop there. You just have to explore some more options. (= I wish I would have more time online or at the library or something to try to help you with that, but maybe since I can't very much right now, a career counselor or something could.. : o And also.. I am trying to email my math teacher from freshman year about something too.... see if it would be worthwhile enough for us to get bachelors degrees and apply for the JET program.... (He was in it with his wife).. lol also he teaches Alg2/trig so I really want a reply anyways XD
Anoo ne. *kerblink* I swear there was something else lol. Is this a big enough wall for you? xP

The Wandering Poet 01-29-2010 02:56 AM

@ Fu - ^^" well... programmers do more than just punch in numbers too... they use formulas, special codes, and a lot of planning ahead and stuff... it's basically writing in a foreign language so the computer knows what you want...

Hmm... maybe a zoo... but we don't have any here... would like that though...

Aww... your poem is sad... I understand why you're worried about what the poem is about though *hugs* ^^ you can do it~ and someday that pain will fade into a happy smile ^^ and hopefully I can be there to see it...

@ Strange - ^^ Alright... thanks for the encouragement... though... it's hard to find a job for accuracy and planning if I don't have a degree...

JET program? Hmm... ^^ keep me posted on that ya? >> << btw... what is it?

strange_dreams_512 01-30-2010 02:33 AM

Kaze- The JET program? Umm the pamphlet I have is a bit far away for me to grab but sure, I'll try to explain more.. You can choose from three jobs if you are picked. You can be an assistant english teacher in Japan, a person handling intercultural affairs, or someone helping on a sports team, but either way you are chosen by the Japanese government which looks good on a resume for one. But you need a bachelors degree to be eligible enough.... the pay is really good though and you can apply with your husband/wife if you are married. (= So you go to the same area and don't have to be separated to different parts like you might if you applied separately.

Quote:

As for the JET Program, it has been such a wonderful experience. Go for it! However, one of the only major requirements is that you have a bachelor's degree. I highly suggest that you and your fiance do what you can do get bachelor's degrees. I understand financially this may be tricky and that the economy is the U.S. in general is in shambles. But if you find a way to make it happen I'm confident will give you more choices and financial stability in the long run.

So what else can you do to get a leg up on the competition? Learn as much Japanese as possible. Take college classes, meet international students studying abroad, etc. Also, get some teaching experience. This doesn't necessarily mean getting a teaching certificate or majoring in education. Try tutoring and some other after school program while you're in college.

The more Japanese and teaching experience you have, the better. Why? The JET Program is getting more and more competative every year. Lots of people want in but there are only so many spots. There are also private companies that you can work for but the pay isn't as good. You need your bachelor's degree to work for these people as well.

The Wandering Poet 01-31-2010 05:03 AM

Sounds interesting... though a bachlors degree might be hard to get without a specific field... probably have you get your's first, have you work as I get mine ne? Then once we get those, we can move to Japan =D

For some reason when wondering what "JET" stands for... "Just Eat Tamaki" came to mind...

^^ Heres a poem I stuck in my about me I might as well post here:
Quote:

~Friends~

While my friends may be few
They are absolutely true

Never do they turn their back
Or look to me and attack

But they make my world glimmer
And cause my sadness to simmer

For true friends are wonderful
And all a part of a whole

They help me stay on my feet
For without them I'm incomplete
- me =D Feel free to comment however ^+^

The Wandering Poet 02-04-2010 11:21 PM

Water rises with the moon
As does the sun and stars

Water laps up the sandy shore
While it bakes in the sun

The rivers run from unknown evil
Fleeing from the mystic mountains

They grow ever taller ever wider
And casting rocks of flame in wrath

I revive thee thread in a poetic fashion =3

strange_dreams_512 02-05-2010 11:36 PM

Ahh lol I finally have seen them! *heard on the phone first* So sorry for hanging up T_T Precious was acting all funny though. (But you know that right?)
I like them both : D they both make me smile ^_^ both on the simple side but both sweet and nice to read.

The Wandering Poet 02-06-2010 05:23 AM

^^ Thanks... similar to your's except not short ^^ they have a simple direction

I wanna see you write a short playful poem =3 (rhythmic)

strange_dreams_512 02-06-2010 10:57 PM

lol how short do you mean in short? XD I dun get it. xP

The Wandering Poet 02-07-2010 04:08 AM

^^ As short as you wish honey <3

strange_dreams_512 02-07-2010 04:15 AM

Shorter than the fairy tale huh >> <<

The Wandering Poet 02-07-2010 04:42 AM

No, not necessarily uber short... just more "short and simple". I know you're really good at writing extremely long papers and poems, but I haven't seen many short ones from you

strange_dreams_512 02-07-2010 04:45 AM

haha what about the one that I wrote for last event? Was that okay? ..you want a new one huh XD

The Wandering Poet 02-07-2010 04:58 AM

Might as well ^^ it'll get ya some gold ne? =) plus you write nice poetry =D

This is a poetry thread for all of menewsha in a place where people can actually find it...

strange_dreams_512 02-07-2010 05:07 AM

haha.. ok.. let's give this a shot...

Back and forth, the swings they sway
Children on them, there they play
A few years older and they go their way
Off to the trees every day
But on asphalt in warm, bright sun
Kisses are shared and kisses are won
Share a drink from the fountain, and there you are in love
And don't you know it, it's just enough
The world keeps on spinning for you and I
The clouds rushing over, they say goodbye
Whence we sleep under covers of dandelion dreams
A peacefulness pure, they can't tear at these seams
This is real.

The Wandering Poet 02-07-2010 05:17 AM

I like that poem a lot =3

Especially how "Share a drink from the fountain, and there you are in love" and "This is real." aren't connected rhythmically to any of the other lines, making them jump out with significance =)

strange_dreams_512 02-07-2010 05:27 AM

(= ya it's based off of a true story hahaha XD <3
hmmm I think I do that a lot o.o" I can't help it much ^^"

The Wandering Poet 02-07-2010 06:47 AM

That's fine =) it's actually a good habit... it gives the poem lines which are most significant, while not fully revealing why

strange_dreams_512 02-07-2010 06:50 AM

haha and you know where the poem is coming from yes? XD

The Wandering Poet 02-07-2010 09:15 PM

O.o wow... I just realized... was at the park when you visited <3

strange_dreams_512 02-11-2010 01:23 AM

LOL yes exactly what I'm talking about Xd we swung on the swings and shared water and such. was fun : 3 also playing on the play structure a bit albeit there were so many kids.. it was fun X3

Acobjum 02-19-2010 12:38 AM
