((OOC// I'm trying to introduce a bit of the darker side of Cherila. Haha, it's more than the fear of sunlight. In fact it's so deep that I bet Cherila herself doesn't even know what she's truly afraid of.))
Cherila blinked twice, unsure of what happened. Was he trying to dismiss a worry plaguing her at the moment? She smiled brightly, almost feeling tears at his kindness. Deimos is a very wise person, I must remember to be extra careful next time. She stood back away from his window, trying to look out it. She loved the sun, it was a bright happy ball of light that obscured the darkness that held itself upon the earth. But why did she feel that there was something sinister about the rays that it cast upon the room? |
As he desended down the stairs, he noticed something about the environment to be unpleasing to him. He glanced around the room, then realized that all of the blinds were open and thee was little room to walk that wouldnt have him soaking in sunlight. He dashed into the kitchen, remembering that there werent any windows in there and tried to regain his composure. He looked around the kitchen and not seeing Guma in there, he figured hed use that as his excuse. He followed the shadows that laid on the bar room floor and made his way back up the stairs. Passing Cherila again, he flashed a kind smile and proceided past his room, and up the next flight of stairs that led into an attic.
|
She watched as Deimos passed by, flashed her a smile, then made his way up to the attic. Cherila wondered why he would possibly want to be up there.
He must want to be alone..., she thought, still standing awkwardly in his room. I wonder if he talked to Anaguma. Did he say something to upset him? |

"The room was perfect thank-you...do you need any help?" she asked smiling. "I'll gladly help you with anything you need." she added. Sufra knew that she was going to enjoy working here. |
Once he entered the attic he calmed down. The absence of windows always calmed his nerves. Now that he was steady minded again, he began to search. He was seaching for two items of great importance to him. An old blood magic book that he has never used, but passed down from his master. As well as an old platinum ring, which was also passed down by his master. He had them both while he laid dorment all those years in this attic, now the question is where he left it.

THE TEA~
She suddenly remembered it. Her head hung heavy on her shoulders as she called herself a various array of insults in her head. Nearly tripping down the stairs, she found her teapot still sitting there, no longer ebbed with springs and whips of steam. Oh no... it's cold. Cherila picked it up sadly, feeling the heavy weight that only chilled her hands but her heart. It wouldn't taste the same if it was reheated. She was humiliated at the condition it would be in when she served it. She pulled out a note and wrote slowly on it, making sure she got all the information she needed. Leaving it on the counter, she threw on her cloak, opening the door of the tavern and leaving. It said; Excuse me. I'll be back soon, picking up new ingredients for the tea. I dare not waste anymore of yours so foolishly. Sincerely, Cherila |

"Well, Since theres not really any customers as of yet, you can just make yourself at home for the most part. No need to over work yourself. But, if you truely insist in doing something i suppose i could try to find some chores for everyone to do. Does everyone else agree to that?" He glanced around the tavern and noticed that it was only him and Sufra that were anywhere in earshot. He sighed and apologized. "Heh, my apologies. If you wish you can work on the interior decorating, i suppose" |
Sufra chuckled.
"It's okay, and sure, I'll help you anyway I can sir." she said smiling at him. "This is going to be fun, I want to thank-you for giving me the job, you don't even know me and you gave it to me...Thanks so much!"she added flashing him a grin. |
he saw how happy hiring her made her, so he flashed a grin and nodded.
"then get to it." He walked over to the bar and posted a sheet of paper to the wall nearest the bar on the right side. Chores [] Windows need blinds or drapes [X] Floor needs sweeping/mopping [] Need new furniture or sitting area [] Tables need to be wiped down [] Room needs to be made on far wall for future project. [] Cherila: make soem tea. ^_^ "for now this should do." |
She took a look at the sheet of paper and saluted army style.
"Will do sir! I'll get right on it!" she said and began to sweep the area then mopped. "Sir, for the drapes and stuff...I should go to the furniture store...correct?" she asked. |
She appeared again, a couple of bags in twined in her fingers. To her surprise it seemed that everyone was working.
Looks like I'll have to make it later..., Cherila thought, staring at them, her face red with humiliation. She found a clean counter and set the bags on it. Seeing Sufra, she decided to work up her nerves to say hello. Hello there, I know you're working and all..., she stopped writing. She steeled up more nerves, a more determined look spread over her face. But I wanted to say hello. I'm Cherila and I hope to be friends with you in the future. Cherila handed the note to Sufra. Unsure of what else to do, she gave a quick nervous bow, not daring to look up. |
Sufra noticed that a girl had approached her with a not and handed it to her.
Sufra looked surprised and took the note reading it with a smile forming on her face. "Oh, hello Cherila, I love your name! My name is Sufra, don't be scared, I would love to be your friend too!" she answered. Sufra was happy that someone actually came and talked to her, she was pretty lonely at the moment and did hope to make one friend. |
He watched as Cherila and Sufra made contact and smiled knowing this would be friendly environment. He moved over to the chores list and crossed off sweeping and mopping. He thought for a bit then added to the list: Cherila's delicious tea. He then turned back to Sufra not forgetting her quesion.
"Sorry to interupt, but..." He handed Sufra a twenty dollar bill to go shopping with. "...this is for the drapes, if you need more just let me know" |
He searched the attic but found nothing. No book, no ring. His failure to locate his bloodlines magic left him disappointed. As his head hung, he heard the sounds of commotion from below. He decided not to bother with it when he heard a familiar voice speaking of tea. His ears pirked and he walked into a shadow, and performed what little magic he had memorized. He disappeared in the shadow and appeared downstairs, in a closet he didnt even realize was there. Maybe noone realized it was there. He shrugged and exited the closet, leaving him by the staircase.
"huh, did anyone realize that there was a closet here? and did i hear someone mention tea?" When he was informed that noone mentioned tea at all. He sighed and decided it would be best if he didnt act on everything he heard. After all, he knew she had tea. But noone else knew. He walked over to Cherila, who had her back turned to him, and laid his forehead on her back, almost depressingly. And he spoke to her, in almost a whisper so only she could hear him. "Tea please" Knowing he was growing weak, and his search being a failure, he hoped that her tea would help his mood a bit. |
Cherila smiled warmly at Sufra, extremely happy at her response. She could almost feel tears of happiness. Holding them in, she nodded, glad to have her as a friend.
Feeling a head rest against her back, Cherila turned her head a bit, looking over her shoulder, to see Deimos' head crumpled against her in defeat. She blushed feverishly at the contact, not sure what to say. But soon she heard him asking for tea. Tea....? She thought. He must of seen my failure this morning., Looking down at the ground, her face redder than before. Cherila pulled Deimos to one of the chairs and forced him to sit down. He seemed so weak and pale, well paler than usual. She gave him a bright warm smile. Pulling out a note, she jotted down a few things on it. Don't worry! I'll make it soon, just don't expect it to be amazing or anything., the note said. She bowed to Anaguma, politely excusing herself from the room and handing him a note as well. It said; Excuse me, I know that we're supposed to be doing chores, but I'm going to make some tea quick. I'll get right on those chores after I'm done. And thank you ever so much..... for everything. She rolled up her sleeves, pouring some water into one of the little pans throwing in some lavender petals, sugar, and a slight dash of cinnamon. Keeping the kettle close by, she let the pan get a little warm before pulling out the petals, trying not to burn herself and placing them in their own dish. Soon as it got warm enough, she poured the small pan into the kettle. A strong scent of lavender drifted from the steamy kettle. |
Taking the note, he read it to himself. Understanding, he nodded and watched as she disappeared into the kitchen. After double checking that he gave Sufra the money, he went to check on Deimos. He seemed a bit off today.
"Hey, you good?" He asked Deimos, sitting across the table from him. |
As he sat there. He wondered why he was so weak. Ignoring the fact that Guma was sitting across from him, he tried to figure things out.
I know i fed last night, so why am i so weak right now? Did i not get enough? Or is it due to my own disappointments? I dont know but somethings not right here. Hmmm, thats lavender i smell. oh, the tea. So shes making some. Now i feel even more helpless. Ill have to make sure i thank her once shes done. or maybe ill do it now. He stood up, a little shakey at first but he regained his posture and glared down at Guma. "Im fine." He kept it short enough to say it in passing as he headed into the kitchen. He leaned against the wall as he watched Cherila make her tea. The strong scent of lavender gave him the physical strength enough to approach her, even in his own embarassed state. He leaned in and tapped her on her shoulder to get her attention. "its me. I hope i hadn't made you worry about me and my state. I just wanted to thank you for making tea." He sensed something was troubling her so he continued. "I dont know what happened this morning, but noone here blames you for anything." |
Tears welled up in Cherila's eyes. She had no idea why, but she felt relieved at hearing someone say that.
In the middle of pulling out another note, she stopped. She hugged him instead. Sure she could have wrote thank you on it, but this seemed so much better. She stopped embracing him, suddenly feeling extremely self conscious. This time she pulled out a note, scribbling on it quickly in an act of desperation to explain herself. It said; I'm so sorry, you just made me so happy. I couldn't ever thank you enough. But thank you, thank you so much. Did you ever talk to Anaguma? I still think he wanted to thank you for that one night. I'm sure he appreciated not having to sleep on the floor. She wiped away the tears from her eyes, bowing more than once, before returning back to the tea. |
He smirked as he watched her happily return to the tea. He couldnt explain it, but watching her make tea and her body language, he could tell this human was different. He felt a warmness when she hugged him he hadnt felt in what seemed like lifetimes. It alone brightened his day, but confused it all the same. He decided to shrugg off the feelings of warmth but still wanted to find out her story some more. So he decided to strike a conversation with her.
"You have no reason to be so kind as you are to me. After all, you know what i am. How can you treat a being like me as you do? Does it have something to do with the depths of your eyes i wonder?" |
She paused what she was doing, listening to what he had to say.
Thinking it over, she tried to decide what she would say and what she wouldn't. Pulling out one the notes, Cherila wrote a few things on it. Why would I not be kind to you? I have no reason to judge you. As far as I can tell you're a good person. And as far as that goes, I'll be nice to you no matter what. Because I think of you as my friend. Besides I've met real monsters and you're not one of them. But I swore secrecy. I can't tell you anything, I'm sorry. It's not that I don't trust you, I'm just not sure if I can trust myself. She handed him the note. Looking a little sad after writing it, she hoped he would understand. |
He read the note off in his head. He took in everyword and completely understood where she was coming from. He smiled and nodded. He reached in his own pocket and pulled out a very old fashioned pen and turned her note pver and began to write down a message of his own for her.
Thank you. I understand sworn secrets perhaps better than anyone. So, ill back off for now, but i want you to know one of my secrets. that is if you wish to know. He then folded up the note and returned the pen to his pocket. He handed the folded note to Cherila and awaited her response. |
She was surprised to receive another note in return.
Cherila thought it through, wondering if it was ok for him to be telling her this. Finding a little corner on the note, she scribbled a couple of words on it. Are you sure? Handing it back to him, she stared at him in amazement, thinking how brave he was to be willing to tell her something like this. She was sure that no matter what it said, she'd still be able to smile at him. No matter what. |
This time he didnt even need the paper to write on. He just looked deeply at her, perhaps even into her. His voice had entered her head.
Yea, im sure. I cant read ones thoughts, but im very empathic in that i can sense the turmoil that dwells within ones soul. On top of that, if you focus your thoughts towards me, i can hear you. I can hear the voice thats locked up in you. You may learn more about me, but as i see fit. And i am a monster, but your soothing. Thats why i dont mind this. "That is all for now" He turned from her and walked out of the kitchen. He kneeled down and sat on the floor to the left of the kitchen and waited for his tea. |
She blinked a few times, taking in all that had happened.
Th-that's...an amazing gift he has. He could completely help everyone in the world. Seeing one's inner turmoil, I wonder how that makes a person feel... Cherila turned her attention back to the tea. She ripped open one of the boxes of Indian Spring tea leaves and lightly dropped them in the kettle. Then she added in the tea sweetener, watching it as it dissolved into the mix. But did she have inner turmoil? No way! I mean I've had some set backs in my life, but it made me who I am today. I could never regret what happened. And he's not a monster. I can't believe that... The tea was almost done and she was hoping that it would taste ok. |
He sat there in deep thought. Wondering if he done something smart or not. He pondered as the smell of tea increased.
Was it a good idea? Maybe she doesnt know how she really feels. Maybe im messing with her psychology. Shes a sweet girl. Perhaps i shouldnt make her life harder by getting involved with my existance. that tea smells good. Well, it aint blood but itll work. |
