Katie swam down towards where the others and saw Drake was sleeping and Kotori looked awake..but his eyes were closed so she decided to find out."Kotori,wanna swim?"She asked once she had finished her tune and brushed her wet hair out of her face.

Kotori opened his eyes and nodded, "Sure." He still believed that he was dreaming. He wanted to believe that he was dreaming. That maybe he had been dreaming since he caught that deer in the woods. Wow, it seemed so long ago. He smiled and stood up, setting the things he didn't want to get wet on the ground than waded in. It wasn't cold like had had expected it to be. Adding to his belief that it was just a dream.

She smiled when he got in."So what's been on your mind lately?"She asked,she was now faceing him in the water.The water was actually very nice..she had expected it to be cold.Kotori seemed to be in a daze or something but for an odd reason she blushed after staring at him.She couldn't possibly be attracted to him,or so she thought..so she just looked down at the water.

In turn Kotori caught the blush and tinged pink on his neck. Why would Katie blush while looking at him? She was pretty strong willed yet she was blushing.. that seemed unusual. How would Kotori know that the group just seemed to betting more relaxed with each other, and that he wasn't dreaming.
"The magic." he waved his hand, forgetting that it had been in the water which caused water to splash up. Kotori's face darkened in surprise and shock. he blinked, "er, and getting to New Atreas. to find it. But I think it's following me." He felt weird admitting that. But hey, I'm dreaming. So I can say that. (Just noticed that his picture is missing on the front page. http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/g.../fe10-male.jpg Sorry about that. Katie smiled to see he was actually telling her these things."Well..maybe it is.Why do you think so?"She asked,her face turning back to normal."I think the magic's running from me."She said with a small grin and looked at her now dark black hair,she twirled it around her finger and looked down at her reflection in the water..she could pass as human.

"Well yeah, the magic has been leaving me as well. But in my dreams its there. And its still powerful." He ran his hands through the water gently. "It's leading me to New Atreas. It's showing me how to get around things, who to travel with. " Shaking his head he remembered the forest they had passed through last. "It made sure that I went through that forest despite the death that was around."
"It's letting me think out my issues." He meant that one to be about the dream world he was currently in. Nothing was telling him, 'Hey Kotori, you're awake.' |
Katie looked at him,wondering about what he was saying."So your dreams are showing you to the magic?"She asked.She believed him even though most people would laugh at him."What has it showed you?"She asked quietly.

"It showed me you singing to the woods animals, a female that turned out to be Solruil, riding a horse down the trail, and Alana." He paused when he mentioned Alana, she had disappeared sometime back along the trail. Why had the dreams shown her to him. Was she to meet back up with them at some point. "Later I saw Daku with a wolf ghost figure outlining her."
Yet again he paused, making a connection to the animals again. Quickly he spun around looking for an animal that jumped out at him. All there was around them that he could see was the horses that they had rode in on. Turning back to her he blushed almost crimson. "I'm not still dreaming. Am I?" It was muttered, because he was embarrassed. Well he might as well continue anyways. With a deep breath he continued the story. "There is a bird. It showed me to take the path through the woods to get to the hometown of Drake. It just showed me again another path. There is a bridge down the river further that we can take to get across." |
"Me singing in the forest..?"She said..recalling how that had actually happened."That actually happened..maybe you are on to something."She said and smiled at him."Nope,Your not dreaming..but your lucky Drakes asleep."She said,looking up at the sky.She felt odd now that she was thinking he was cute..she never did this.Never.Ever.She sighed and made herself not blush."I have to admit..thats pretty amazing..but do you have any clues to why it's happening?"She asked,looking at him.

"Not really." He paused sinking lower into the water by almost kneeling. "But I think that the animals are still tied to the magic stronger than everyone else is." He wasn't sure how, but he was sure of this.
"There is probably something in New Atreas. Some clue or something. Maybe it's what will actually lead us to the magic." He didn't understand any of it. He was upset still that it was happening to him. The dreams were accurate. Katie had just proven another fact to him. He knew that the bridge would be there. |
"Hmm..Like Solruils horse?How it had magic..I'm sure if anyone knew where the magic was it would be the animals."She said and laid on her back,floating on the water."So why'd you live in the forest all of your life?"She asked,she knew he was made to leave..but couldn't he have gone to another town?

"Yes, like her horse..." She had continued to talk. Asking him another personal question, one that also pointed to his outcast life. "Humans do not like elves."
He wanted that to be the end of his answer. To say something very simple and very non-revealing. But he couldn't just end it there. "It's how i mentioned walking on the fence of two worlds. Neither the elves or the humans will take me. I'm not one of them. I'm part of both of them. I have to live as an outcast, and at least the forest understands me. It knows the balance that is required to survive. " |
She felt more submissive now."Sorry."She said and looked down.She recalled the fire that had put her in the forest and kept her there."It's really my first time out of that forest that I can remember."She said quietly and moved the tip of her finger on top of the water.

"It's my first time in awhile as well. I feel like I had to grow up fast because of being an outcast." Kotori gave a small laugh. One that revealed that he was annoyed with the situation but at the same time, used to it and accepted it. "I'm still a child in elven thoughts. A baby. A teenager to humans. Yet I feel like an adult, even an old man at times. " He shook his head sadly.
"Don't be sorry. It happens." Though in truth he was in a small amount of shock that he could say these things, and that she was perfectly fine with it. |
She looked at the water,thinking of how she was pushed to live in the woods.
"My father built a house by the woods and one night my mother forgot to turn the stove off and in the middle of the night the house was up in flames..I was only four so my mother pushed me out our bathroom window and told me to go into the woods..why she said the woods I would never know but by morning I was still in the woods alone and no one had come for me so when I went back to the house,all it was was ruins.It was just a simple log cabin so now that i'm older I realize they're dead but when I was younger I kept thinking one day they would come back for me so I stayed in the woods..and by the time I became my age now I just didn't leave because I adapted to it." She said quietly,she didn't cry or anything since she was mostly over it.She had just told him this to show she trusted him most out of the whole group because for an odd reason she could talk to him. |
(Amy can't remember which of his parents was elf and human....She make it up now. XD )
"My father raped my elven mother. It's why I look elven." He paused. "Just because my mother was elven, and I was born to elf, everyone see's me as an elf. All humans that is. The elves see me as a wretched object, something born from two worlds that should be banished. Even killed." He was bitter about his past. "My father was human, and humans I believe are what is killing the magic. " It was a strong statement in his mind, the fact that he blamed humans for everything. That he hated them so much. "I am sorry about your folks though. Things like that don't happen to often." He paused to look her over, even as she lay there floating in the water. She didn't seem much older than him, or even younger for that fact. He guessed that she was probably about the same age as him. "How have we not run into each other before now." It was really just a rhetorical question, his thoughts spoken outloud. |
Katie had listened carefully until he asked her a question."I don't know.."She said and sat up,looking at him.She felt for his mother and noted about his hatred for humans."I don't really like humans either.They don't understand things so easily.."She said and looked at the water.Kotori had a point.'How had they not met before now?'
She then looked back up at him.She looked like a human.She despised that fact.She continued thinking of how they haven't met before. |
Taking that akiko didn't want to talk about it aranthal decided just to steer the horse and remember things that had happened in his past. He was thinking of how he had taken an oath when he was younger from a priest his teacher had made him see. The oath was that he would protect another elf with his life so that she may complete what her destiny was. He hoped that it wasn't akiko for he really liked her. All of this thinking had distracted him and before knew it they were in New Atreas.

Kotori shook his head sadly, "No, they really don't." He let the water wash over him as it moved downstream, trying to find the calm in it that it would normally bring him. His eyes drifted to the shore, to the others. They would probably be leeaving again soon.
Akiko's mind was distracted, and as they got to New Atreas she was hardly phased by its appearance. In fact, she hardly noticed it at all. She was tired and hungry, and was thoroughly distracted by the desire to dance. As the horse trotted down the streets she stopped a passerby briefly to ask where the closest inn was. She felt like resting. Her hand drifted into her pouch where the church's insignia was. Thumbing over it she felt a sense of peace which she took to relax as she led the horse to the inn and leapt off. (description purposefully let off because I'm not sure if you had something in mind for it since its the many city/village/town place. ) |
Katie was also looking back at the shore,knowing they would be leaving soon."I might as well get out now to go and dry off.."She said,swimming towards the shore and walking out of the water.She pushed her hair back out of her face and looked at Kotori.She sat down on a rock and put her shoes back on,happy she had atleast took them off before getting in.Drake was still asleep and the others hadn't spoken for awhile..but she was atleast a little happier that she had gotten to know Kotori better.Maybe now things would not be so uptight between them.

((Sorry! I have finals this week so I couldn't get on here for awhile....ugh ^_^ oh and I was just thinking that New Atreas would be giantly huge and shiny cause it's the Capitol. That's it though! write whatever else you want about it and we'll all go by that.))
Solruil was shocked when Kotori all of a sudden spoke about himself. It was not something she had expected from anyone because they were each so reclusive -including herself-. The shock only lasted a moment however. She gave him a sympathetic look of understanding. "If you need a trustworthy, good friend I am here. I understand a little more than you might think...Everyone has their secrets of life. Some are very similar.." Solruil smiled a little and then looked down. She wasn't ready to speak about her life to everyone else quite yet. If Kotori needed to talk or needed a friend she would speak but right now, and only because of what he just said, Solruil only had reason to trust him. She didn't know everyone else. As he walked away, she let him go but followed him with her eyes. She hoped her instinct wouldn't lead her to acquiring a false friend but it never had been wrong before. As the others swam or slept or just simply kept to themselves, Solruil used the time to brush Phantom and talk to him like she always did. The time seemed to fly by and soon she realized that they needed to leave. "Hey everyone. We need to get going again..." Right as she said that, Solruil looked around at the others and noticed Kotori and Katie already getting out. Solruil kind of chuckled to herself. |
Aranthal got down after akiko and tied the horse up outside the inn. "So what now miss akiko?" always keeping a pleasant tone with her. He looked around noticing that the inn looked very nice, "We could get something to eat and a room for the night."((sorry for the shortness))

Akiko smiled turning from the door to look at him. "That sounds.. wonderful." Her eyes widened seeing the city. The view just striking her travel tired eyes. Beautiful towers as if the place was a castle. Maybe it was the setting sun, but it looked like the city was bathed in a golden glow. She "oooo"ed out loud and put a hand to her mouth looking around in wonder.
She turned her head slowly looking in every direction including the one they had come through. Here there wasn't much, but further down the path, where the real city started was the grandest gate she had ever seen, guards standing patrol to guard off any creatures. The inn they were entering in was on the outside of the city walls and was still grand. Her heart fluttered with happiness at the beauty. Turning back she looked at Aranthal with a new grin on her face, "That sounds amazing. " She smiled and pushed her way into the inn to go speak to the innkeeper. Kotori gave a brief short grimace to Solruil before climbing his way very ungracefully back up onto the saddle on 'Betsy.' His face was set in determination, again in the battle to stay on the creature and not take a spill onto the ground and get crushed by the hooves. "Okay, let's go." |
Katie got back on Moo,her hair already seemed to be drying.
((Sorry,Cant think of anything)) Drake woke up."What!?Whats going on?"He yawned. |
Aranthal just followed akiko "Should we get a separate room this time or would you like to save some money and just share one?" at this thought he blushed to the point he was as red as her dress. "We don't have to but it will make our money last longer here." He then offered his arm to her to act as her escort.
