I want to get all of my questing out of the way before I open a charity. I don't want to be earning gold for a charity while saving up for a super expensive item at the same time.

Which reminds me.. we didn't get last month's contribution item nor the latest holiday's items. We need to be better about keeping up with Menewsha. Or at least I do.

Corporate Zombie 04-25-2010 10:53 PM

Whoa. Looks like you found a buyer. Did you manage to get the item at an acceptable price?

Scribbled Lore 04-25-2010 10:56 PM

Yep!

Now I'm working on the next item. :)

Corporate Zombie 04-25-2010 11:12 PM

How much does that one cost?

Scribbled Lore 04-25-2010 11:14 PM

I have the price listed on the first page. :XD But 700g is what the price guide listed.

Corporate Zombie 04-25-2010 11:34 PM

It still amazes me how quickly you're blowing through cash (and how much you haven't had to because of generous donations). A much more charitable place than Gaia, to be sure.

Scribbled Lore 04-25-2010 11:38 PM

Hey, Gaia Online used to be a place chock full of love and generosity. The charity forum was my favorite place to hangout. You know how it is - people move on, the community changes as new people move in and nothing really stays the same.

Edit:

Talking about donations..

Thank you, Captain Howdy, for the 700g! It's very much appreciated. :)

Corporate Zombie 04-25-2010 11:47 PM

Yeesh. Thank you for proving my point.

And for the record, so long as I have been there, Gaia has never been a terribly well-educated or friendly place. Maybe their creep-o-meter just goes off the charts whenever i'm around.

Scribbled Lore 04-25-2010 11:49 PM

Yeah, but you showed up on Gaia long after I made my first appearance there. :XD So things had time to degenerate and you didn't get to experience the Golden Years. Mwuahahaha.

I posted an offer on someone's thread for the pumpkin candy holder. Now we just wait. *twiddles her thumbs*

Corporate Zombie 04-26-2010 12:06 AM

Well, at least you're making good progress. The waiting game sucks, though.

Scribbled Lore 04-26-2010 12:12 AM

S'not so bad. It gives me a chance to continue earning gold so that when I switch to the next item I'm not starting with nothing and feeling like it'll take forever. :XD

Corporate Zombie 04-26-2010 12:20 AM

I certainly know how that feels. My collection is so measly. It doesn't help that I don't keep up on it (or even care much). I don't even have enough to cover my naughty bits.

Scribbled Lore 04-26-2010 12:32 AM

It doesn't really matter much if you don't care about it.

I don't know where I'm going to get the art for the tattoo I want drawn up. I don't know any artists anymore and I'd rather have someone I know draw it for me.

Corporate Zombie 04-26-2010 12:42 AM

Maybe one of us can find ourselves a friend going through the graphic design department?

I'm not sure. What I want is simple enough if I go to the right person. It's all pretty traditional images. The hard part is piecing it together but, again, it would be pretty easy for that person. I guess my big concern in the cost. I don't know if or when I'll be able to drop that kind of cash. T_T

Scribbled Lore 04-26-2010 12:56 AM

You're right about your tattoo.

Oo, yay! Two items in one day. :boogie: This quest has been fairly easy. I think that before I start my next quest I want to wait until I've saved up 1k in gold and donated to five other peoples' quests.

What do you think?

Corporate Zombie 04-26-2010 01:11 AM

I think that would be a very magnanimous idea. It could take a while, but I suppose that depends on how much you intend to donate.

Scribbled Lore 04-26-2010 01:18 AM

The amount would be based on what they're questing for.

Corporate Zombie 04-26-2010 01:22 AM

I suppose you're right. It could take some time, then, unless you were willing to limit how much you would be willing to donate. I can appreciate the idea of helping out others, though, even before you have gotten where you want to be.

Scribbled Lore 04-26-2010 01:26 AM

I don't want to be greedy or seen as being greedy therefore I fee it's important to take time off in-between quests to help others.

Corporate Zombie 04-26-2010 01:28 AM

That's a good point. People are less likely to help those who only want to help themselves. If you donate to a more charitable individual, you can be certain that they will pay it forward.

Scribbled Lore 04-26-2010 01:34 AM

I'll need to go back through the thread and check the profiles and signatures of anyone who has posted and the people who donated. That way I'll be able to donate to people who have helped me out first and then go pick out random people to give gold to.

Corporate Zombie 04-26-2010 01:53 AM

I keep forgetting that you get donations not just from people who have EVERYTHING but also people who are still working, like you. Such a foreign concept.

Scribbled Lore 04-26-2010 01:54 AM

Why so foreign?

Liztress 04-26-2010 01:55 AM

Hey Scribbled. ^_^ How's your quest going?

Corporate Zombie 04-26-2010 01:57 AM

It's just so different from everything else I have encountered. Normally you get yourself geared up, THEN you can help others. You can't afford to help others while you're still gearing yourself. Hi, Liztress~!
