Go for it. :) A costume is a costume; its purpose is to alter your appearance to that of a character from a play, tv show, comic book, whatever. Saying someone should only wear costumes that fit their biological gender is idiotic.
I think the most fun part is, I have an androgynous enough facial and skeletal structure that I doubt anyone will call me on it...
And if they do, and don't like it, what are they going to do about it? My partner and I will be together all the time (him as my Hawkeye and Hope, and as Vanille I'll probably have one of my other partners with me as Fang even) and we're trained in self-defense - we can kick their asses so hard they'll come out of their mouths if they try to start anything. |
I'd like to dress as some of my favorite guys, but I'm nowhere near androgynous, so I don't think a convincing costume would be possible.
Besides if I dressed as the one I really want to do (Crowley from Good Omens) then I'd have to convince Glass to dress as Aziraphale and I'm not sure that he'd want to. XD |
lol. and me dressed as a female would be about as convincing as Tim Curry in rocky horror. XD
Yeah there's really nothing feminine about you. In appearance anyway lol.
Well. . . my eyes. . . and my lips a little. >.> But bone structure, and stature wise, I'm not even close to feminine. :/
Yes, your eyes and lips. I can't really say about your facial structure because its covered by so much fur lol. Mind you, I'm not dissing the beard. I don't know why I like it, but I do I guess because its a part of you.
You could always grow your hair long again if you want to look more feminine. >.> |
But my hair doesn't look feminine when it's long. lol.
....It'd still be hot. >.>;
lol. uh huh. You just want me to look like Thor. :P
Anyway, how is everyone doing lately? There hasn't been much conversation here, and it used to be hard to keep up sometimes. :/ It saddens me. |
I have been doing all right, just figuring out my study schedule before I do myself in. Dx!
Lol. That can be difficult. :) I miss school. XD
I miss school too. I like what I'm studying...and even the boring classes are a lot more enjoyable than dealing with my mother.[gonk]
I'm sorry, is your mother bothersome in some way? :/ I've been gone for some time, so I'm afraid I don't know everyone so well anymore. XD
She's a...very difficult person. I wont go into detail because I don't want to be a downer. There are a few good sides to being stuck here - such as the fact that I don't have to pay for my own food and I actually get to eat really good stuff instead of junk from a can. xD I'm trying to focus on that.
lol, well being a food nerd, I'd appreciate that too. XD
I usually have to cook if I want anything really good, but that's a small price to pay. xD
lol. Well at least it has that going for it then. :) Sorry there are down sides. :/
Bleh. I feel lame tonight. Not sure why. Been a chronic state for a while now. Feeling glum in the evenings. |
lol. Fits quite well. XD
Except for the 'college' bit they forgot to keep the noodles in the styrofoam cup. Who can afford to lug heavy bowls back and forth unless you steal them from the cafeteria (and I know some kids that did...)
I've had some cheap noodle bowls that come in styrofoam bowls that shape!
Mine come in smallish plastic bowls. I get them at H mart. lol. They're cheap.
Some come in bowls, but the majority come in the 'cup' shape. I'm just saying between using that and what appears to be actual silverware/cutlery instead of something plastic, it makes the 'college experience' even nicer than mine was -_-;
On the subject of costumes: The point of a costume is to GET OUT of yourself. If a toddler wants to dress as a dalmation and put black paint spots on their face after watching 101 dalmations, do the parents protest? NO. And they're not even humanoid! You're meant to be something else, to try something else for a day. It also doesn't make you a "trans" person, it makes you a pesron in a costume. If it's of the opposite gender, it could be consider cross-dressing at most, and if you act your part, ie a batman sees a joker while trick or treating and shines their safety flashlight at them and says "I won't let you terroize Gotham City anymore", even if the child is a complete stranger but they know each other "in character", then they are cosplaying, and if they are cosplaying of the opposite gender then they are Cros-playing, something of which I have done. I find it extremely liberating to walk around both sides of the salad bar as I personally tend to be neutral, do what I want, say what I want, listen to I want, attend which activities I want. The older the generation the more harsh the resistance to this sort of thing. It really makes my head spin... in the bad way. |
i love ten cent ramen and dalmations! hiya,Crow,sweetie. |
