Raphael thumped his head with his palm and shook his head. "Well now, don't I feel stupid. You're the missing one which obviously means, your, er, gift must be telepathy." He smiled. When he saw Sakyo step closer to him his smile turned into a frown, then his eyes traveled back to Kyoko. "Haru... I know it's not my place, but whatever your decision is I'd like to stay by your side. For some odd reason I feel the need to... be there for you...." His eyes never leave Kyoko, he still felt distrust towards the guy. But it wasn't his right to judge. This was Sakyo's decision.
"Mmm. Yes, but he means well... and... honestly... he let's me get away with... a lot," Nana said. There was need for Hui to know that she never even knew hr parents, but there was troth in what she said. Her grandparents were as close to real parents as she ever came to. Sometimes she forgot that. As Hui told the story, Nana listened intensively. The more he spoke, the more the voices became softer. This would probably be the best it would be until she learned to control her abilities. "Thanks Hui...." She kept her eyes closed. Though the voices were quitter, her head was still suffering the after effect. Nana opened her eyes to the sound of wings. "Izaya?" It was Emelia's hawk. She smiled at it. "It's fine Hui, he's a friend of mine. Tell me, is Emelia ok? Can you help me over to her, Hui?" She was sure that Izaya wouldn't leave Emilia if she wasn't ok, but still, she wanted to be absolutely sure. There was to much going on to not at least check. So many were suffering with the bestowal of their new abilities. [This post is sad. Sorry.... ] |
((Will be going out of town for two weeks starting tomorrow. I highly doubt I'll have internet access. Move me as need be. I'll catch up when I get back.))

(heh, my post is even worse. This is LenGe's mule account for anyone who doesn't know me :))
Hui eyed this..this Izaya with vengeance in mind. Cocky bird, your going to end up in my pot one day. When Nana spoke absently about her father, Hui didn't bother to pry and listened on as she asked to get to someone called Emilia. Ah, names. Not so good with remembering them. His gaze flit around the field to the pairs and trios that were scattered around, each trying to regain their composure. Suddenly, panic and self anger seized him. Where was that girl he had first met? Celeste was nowhere to be seen and Hui didn't see where she disapeared. Feeling angry at himself for being so irresponsible in losing track of the first comrade he met here, Hui kicked a nearby stone across the field before wincing when he realized that it went flying to the direction of the girl who had been screaming at the lovely lady. Turning back so as to not see the result of his foolish move, Hui went back to Nana and sat with his back facing her awkwardly and tried to pick her up with his arms from behind in a piggy back attempt. Ok, this wasn't working. Turning a bit pink with embarrassment and reversing his position so that he faced Nana, Hui reached out to put his arm under her shoulder blades and hooked the other one under her knees. Grinding his teeth, he struggled for a moment to get into stand up while carrying Nana. After succeeding, he straightened up and shifted his arms a bit to get a better hold. "Euuhm...who's Emilia again?" he asked, pointing at a random pair with his chin as his hands were literally full. |
Emilia didn't notice the others who disappeared into the forest, she had too much of her attetion fixated on Kyoko. However as the strange man continued to talk, Emily's fists started to shake with anger. The way that the red-eyed man spoke reminded Emily of all of those people in her village that liked to get inside people's heads. Who made others unsure of themselves, who gave her a reason to resist any human friendship. She hated it, however anger wasn't a good thing to have when one didn't have full control over their powers was it?
Emilia's fists were shaking and droplets of water fell from them, hitting the ground and freezing the grass around her feet in great 6 inch diameter rings. But what was the point of standing there and glaring at a fellow who made such an entrance? Emilia turned to Ava and Crim, ignoring the fact that the girl had white hair. It looked natural enough on her, even though she was so young. "A-are you two going to the t-t-the mountain?" She suddenly thought it was a foolish question to ask, they had to make the decision in their own time, whereas Emily was already decided. Nothing waited for her at her village so she had no reason to go back. Shaking her head she posed a new one. "I m-mean... Would you two like t-to walk with me for a-a... a bit? I-I feel that h-he's just here to cause t-trouble.." She jerked her head in Kyoko's direction, and finally took notice of the small flock of birds that were flying over head. Emilia gave a wavering smile, relaxing her hands. The sound of breaking ice could be heard and she looked down to see the layer of frost that was on her hands, letting out a startled noise she gently touched her palm and the ice fell away so she brushed it off by clapping her hands together. "I...I'm g-going over t-to my horse... I-I'll make c-camp a little ways that way.." She pointed towards the mountain and looked at Crim directly, speaking quiet enough. "M-maybe.." She swallowed and couldn't believe what she was about to say. "Some of us s-should talk around a m-meal... even if w-we aren't all g-going to the mountain.." She nodded, looking away unsure of what she had just suggested before turning away and walking towards Nana-Haru and Hui. Glancing back, she was more worried for Crim, she wanted him to follow her but that was going to be his choice. He really was a nice kid. When she looked back in the direction she was going, she saw Hui carrying Nana-Haru and made a curious but highly concerned face. Izaya, who had enjoyed taunting Hui saw Emilia coming and rose into the air, sweeping over to and on her upraised arm. "Is Nana okay?" |
Ava continued to glare at Kyoko, her ice blue eyes cold as the frost that appeared on the girl's hands next to her. It seemed as though Kyoko had already got and mastered his powers, especially judging by the smirk on his face as he stared at Haru. He was definately really good-looking and made Ava a bit flustered just being around him, but boy did she want to smack that smirk right off his face. What did he know that they didn't? She was curious. Part of her wanted to go with him and ask him questions, but another part of her wanted to go to the mountain like the Goddess told them to in orer to be on the side of good. She was so conflicted about what to do. Then the ice-girl, what was her name... Emilia! Spoke and asked if she and Crim were going to the mountain.
Ava looked from Emilia to Kyoko, her bright eyes conflicted, a slight frown on her face as she nibbled at her lower lip thoughtfully. "I'm not sure." She said slowly, truthfully. "I admit, I would like to know more about these powers of ours. If that's the only way for me to find out, then I guess that's where I'm going." Said Ava, her voice soft. Her eyes never strayed from Kyoko. She was trying to figure him out. She had no idea what his deal was, and he made her very curious indeed. Ava tore her eyes away from Kyoko and looked over her shoulder at Crim, smiling warmly at him and wrapping an arm around his shoulders. It was obvious what he was going to do, considering his overly-joyous reaction to the Goddess when she appeared and gave them their powers. "Go with her. Don't worry. You'll be safe." She whispered, pushing him gently towards Emilia. |
((It makes me giggle how so many people like Crim but everyone hates Kyoko :D Ah how I love my characters <3))
Slightly pointed ears twitched as Sakyo listened to the conversations around her. The decision for her was simple, for she didn't have the same concerns as the others. The fate of this world was never important to her nor would it be now that she had the power to save it. Her head lower and eyes closed as she allowed herself time to think on Kyoko's offer, though little to no thought was put into it. "You may follow me if you so please to, Raphael, but my path is not that of the others... I only have my own interests in mind. I have no reason to care for a planet filled with selfish beings who only want to care for others when their lives are threatened..." Throughout her life that was all Sakyo saw: selfishness. Her victims begged for life and insisted upon changing to help their loved ones, but she knew better. If they had any intention on helping their family, if they felt any love towards them, then someone wouldn't have bothered to hire her to destroy them. |
Hui followed the foul abomination of a bird as it flew onto the outstretched arms of a girl with hair that was the color of tree trunks, who also looked worried about the fact that he was carrying Nana rather unsteadily. "Miss, let's see you try to carry this without falling over," he called out before approaching her. Keeping a stoic and calm face despite the fact that his arms were now feeling numb, Hui glanced curiously at the trio who were not too far away from him. A boy there was crying, which irritated Hui, especially since the boy had to be comforted. "You are not an infant and the other girls have already precollected themselves already," he muttered. Deciding on giving the boy a scare, Hui lowered Nana gently beside the girl(who he hoped was Emilia) and patted his pockets for an extra firework cracker. He threw it in the boy's general direction, and watched with pleasure as it quickly decended at his feet.

Emilia shook hear head when she heard Kyoko call Crim the bad guy. Her first thought was that a bad guy was a person who caused any other person any sort of harm, but she thought about it. Crim seemed so innocent and good that at least two people were willing to stand in the way of any danger he may face.. but if she were to allowed that definition of 'bad guy' then everyone was a bad guy. Were there any good guys? She lowered her head a bit, Grammy and the birds had been the only 'good guys' in her life and everyone else had been bad guys.
"Miss, let me see you try to carry this without falling over." And Kyoko walked over, it seemed that Hui hadn't noticed the irritating man as he searched for something to frighten Crim further with. Emilia didn't catch Hui's action or she would have been very cross with the man for certain. She didn't want the hyperactive boy to have any reason to close off from society like she had... then again maybe it was just her and not those around her that drove her to the birds. After all, she didn't feel like avoiding these people half as much as her village. "...A-are you really h-helping her?" She knelt down next to Nana-Haru, not fulling trusting Kyoko. Izaya was silent and hopped up Emilia's arm to rest on her shoulder, pressing his side against her hair. The hawk was watching Kyoko with a steely yellow eye but... he was calm, which was startling Emilia. She didn't trust many people and usually Izaya reacted to that. |
[I saw Labyrinth yesterday (not sure if anyone's seen it.) and Kyoko is totally making me think of Jareth the Goblin King right now. Maybe it's the hair. No idea.]
"Trust me I never intended on staying on this road," he whispers. It's just apart of the game I've been playing with the world. He smiled at her. There was surely something strange about her, he'd known that from the moment he met her. Now it seemed like he was slowly grasping as to what made her so. Something about her character separated her identity from many others he had met. He was determined to figure it out, but that's not why he felt the need to go with her. It was just as he had said, for some reason, he felt the need to b there for her. His eyes glided back to Kyoko as his name was spoken from his lips. There was no need to make a comment back. There was nothing really left to be said. It was clear that he didn't trust Kyoko. Nana was glad to see that Emelia was ok. "I'm fine," she whispered. She wasn't all the way there, but at least the voices had become somewhat quitter. She oped it would be soon that her head would not ringing and these voices would stop all together. She felt so foolish. Suddenly she felt Kyoko's cold hands on her forehead. She was still about a child, and his words came to her well. She took in a deepened breath, her mind payed no attention to Miwa's unsteady gestures. Her head slightly bowed into his touch. But then Emlia spoke and her thoughts began to haze. Most of Kyoko's entrance was a blur to her, and here he was promising to help her. she had no reason to distrust him. "Here you offer me a blessing, and I question it." She placed her hand on his and then looked into his eyes. "Tell me, can I trust that you'll do nothing more than this?" Raphael looked back at Sakyo. For moment he was silent. "Trust is just another taunting advisory," he whispers back. Even if there was someone who was trustworthy here, it didn't mean they would be trustworthy later. He had learned than even family of the most loyalist could in an instant turn on you early on in life. A low growl escaped his lips. Raphael gasped and put his hand to his lips. Sometimes that anger did come back even though he had put it far behind him. [Nana shall make her decision next post. :)] |
((Ha ha XD I have nooo idea! I never got to finish that movie XD Though I do see it in the hair lol))
Quote:
Crim jumped and continued to hide behind Zephyr. Sure, the man was a stranger, but he felt that it was safe to cling onto his partner, and the man had yet to push him away so he felt it was all right to do so. The boy bit his lower lip, having no comeback to Hui, like any other bull he had encountered. |
((Ahhh... I can't think of what to write... I'll think it over and possibly post something tonight.))
|
((Okies :D I will make sure to not reply until you come up with something :3 I don't wanna leave people behind))
|
Ava glared for a moment over at Hui, whom had thrown a fire cracker over at Crim just to frighten the poor crying boy. "Leave him alone!" She yelled, anger flaring inside of her. She tried to calm down her heavily beating heart, her power welling up inside of her. Ava's head started pounding, making her reaching up and hold onto her head with one hand, gritting her teeth as she winced slightly. She took a few deep breaths and looked through a viel of her white hair back to Kyoko.
"So why are you so excited to go over to the bad guys?" Ava asked, curious for his reasons. On the outside, she acted as if she didn't like Kyoko, but in reality, he intrigued her greatly. Something about him caught her attention, and brought some sort of allure to her. Ava straightened herself and let her arm fall back to her side. Her ice blue gaze was hard as she stared at Kyoko, yet curious as well. Ava was still debating on if she should maybe follow Kyoko, or go with the ones up the mountain. She wasn't exactly one to follow others. She would much rather lead or do her own thing. However, she wanted answers. It was how she would be getting those answers and who she would ask her questions to that she was wondering about. Maybe, just maybe, if Kyoko's reasoning was good enough for her, maybe she'd go with him and ask him her questions instead of going with the others. She didn't really care about Haru or Raphael at this point. It was rather obvious to Ava that Haru would do whatever suited her, and Raphael seemed interested in the woman, so he would more than likely follow her whatever she chose. ((Hope this is long enough...)) |
((Nah! That's fine, dear. I was more worried about getting short one paragraph things. I try to post shorter than I normally do since I have three characters and don't wanna kill ya'll with heeeellla long posts unless need be XD but it just upsets me to see real short posts D: I like stuff thought out. Yours is fine though :D Now to reply with Kyoko and stuff xD since I figured he should immediately reply to such a question rather than stand like a loon :D
Sorry for the shortness, but I really felt Kyoko should reply to that XD a haha)) A soft smile crept over Crim's face in a response to the two girls defending him, but he still felt a need to hide behind Zephyr, since Kyoko was getting closer and closer to him. He knew that he wasn't going to come towards him, but he wasn't willing to risk it. |
Ava's eyes widened just slightly when Kyoko answered her. What he said seemed to make sense, and he knew how to control his powers, just like she'd originally thought he could. When Ava was angered at Hui for throwing the fire cracker, she had felt her power growing and festering inside of her, begging to be released so she could teach him a lesson. "So..." She said, her voice slow and cautious. "You know how to control your powers really well... Do you think you would be able to teach someone else how to use theirs?"
Ava decided that she didn't really want to waste time hiking up some silly mountain if she could just hang around with Kyoko and learn quicker. Besides, he had a point. Maybe they weren't on the right side. The only way to find out was to get the story of the other side, not just take the word of some so-called Goddess. She wouldn't really mind saving the world, though she'd rather know the whole story before doing anything rash like climb a mountain. |
"Hm... It shouldn't be too hard to teach someone else, Miss Ava. I cannot tell you why you gained the power you have received, nor can I go into the history of it like the woman who gave it to you, but I understand enough to be able to control it, so I could only assume that I could teach you to control it as well. I don't understand why it is so hard to control anyway... though I've had much practice beforehand..." Kyoko gently rubbed his thumb against Nana's forehead as if to tell her he hadn't forgotten about her as he spoke to Ava. Eye contact was essential to conversation and currently he was speaking to Ava, not Nana, thus some form of acknowledgement felt necessary. What he said was true though, he had a lot of training before he was found in Crim's village. Even then he continued his training, which was why he was prepared to take his power when he said his name out loud. Of course, no one here knew how painful, or painless, his power was, though it was safer to assume he felt no pain with how he spoke. ((Dude, I don't remember if my own character ever said his name XD this is saaad. I really don't remember if Kyoko EVER said his name XD)) |
[Haha. Has to be. Anyways he said his name.]
Nana attentively listened to Kyoko as he spoke. His words made her confused on her decision. It made her have to think harder. He was saying that he was going to go on the other side, one that the goddess had said was the evil one. However, he was offering to help her at no cost, and perhaps it was some kind of illusion, but his eyes spoke truth. In al honesty he could have hid his intentions of going on the other side, but he was very straight forward with it. And also, once again, she had yet to see anything from him that told her she couldn't trust him, at least for this reason. Aside from that, she had no right to judge him in such a manner, she didn't know him, all she knew that he seemed to be honest in wanting to help her. Ava spoke, and Nana's eyes went to her. She surprised her, most people here seemed ready to attack him at his first wrong move, but no, she seemed, fascinated by him. What got her more was Kyoko's response to her asking why he was so quick to join up with the bad guys, even though that is what caught her attention most, their conversation was captivating. It was just that tiny fragment of it made her think. It was no more than feeling that had lead her to side with the goddess. Nana wasn't about to change her decision on it, more so, it made her understand Kyoko's choice. When his eyes came upon her again, her eyes instinctively met them. She was nearly ready to except his offer, but she made herself ponder more as he walked away. Nana bit her lip as a simple lack of focus made the voices grow louder for a moment. She pulled her sleeve over her fist and wiped where the blood had touched her skin. She had clothes in which to change into later, it wasn't an issue. She had came on this journey prepared. Nana pushed herself up, nearly falling back as she did so. "Thank you, both of you," she said to Emelia and Hui. She then whistled, and from where ever he had been, Nobu came swooping down and her lifted her onto Miwa. "Easy girl. I'm ok, you're ok." She leaned down onto Miwa's mane, and patted her gently on the side. The horse slowly began to move forward. Nobu had landed in a tree up ahead. Once they made it to Kyoko, she slid off Miwa, but continued to hold onto her. She looked at the man with a soft smile. "I've decided that it doesn't matter to me which side you are joining. You made me... an honest offer. I'd like to take it. Just one thing first, what is your name? You seem to already know mine." She hadn't been able to hear him over everything going on in head. She felt it was something she should know, so she knew who she was appreciating. Raphael smirked. "Yeah. Pretty much." he took a few steps forward and then waited for Sakyo to continue on. |
Circling about his mind were memories of long before flooding him as he sat behind that tree far from the others. No one else matter, which was how he had lived his life for as long as he could remember. Why please others when you yourself were miserable? Kyoko rubbed at his temples and gritted his teeth, cursing in an ancient tongue no human was able to comprehend. Little did he know that purple streams of aura were floating about him the more his thoughts engulfed him. ((I'm only rushing the bad guy group because I want them to leave before the good guy group xD ha ha. Just so ya'll know. I'm not trying to leave people behind lol)) |
Hui shook his head. He was bored, the kid irritated him, what could he do? Growing impatient with the lack of energy, well, other than the hostile and uncertain aura everyone seemed to have, Hui decided to play a bit at teasing the others for some reaction or rise. Taking a moment to collect his chi and calm his mind to focus, Hui shapeshifted his head. Of course, since his target was a girl, he had no interest in trying to replicate the body. In a few seconds, his face was the exact copy of the Sakyo girl. Squeezing her beautiful features into ugly and funny faces, Hui silently went about in mimicking her shouting mini rage. This soon became boring but he didn't let up until a few minutes had passed. Then, still not changing his face, Hui went up to Emilia to ask a question that was actually directed to everyone present. "So...who's going to the mountains to see her?"
|
Ava looked from Haru, then over her shoulder at the others. She closed her ice blue eyes as a slight breeze came through the trees, ruffling her long white hair. She sighed and opened her eyes again to look back over to where Kyoko had gone. "Thank you for helping me earlier, Crim." She said over her shoulder, smiling and nodding at the boy. Taking a deep breath, she walked over to Kyoko, a determined look on her face. She walked up to him, pretty much ignoring Nana, who was standing next to him. "If you can teach me how to use my powers, then I want to go with you. I'd also like to hear the other side's story. I don't want to do anything until I know exactly what's going on." She said, allowing her curiosity to get the better of her.
Usually, she'd just make a quick decision that she believed was right, but with Kyoko's argument, Ava wasn't sure what was what at the moment. It was more the fact that he intrigued her, rather than she really wanted to know the other side's story. Kyoko made her curious, and the fact that he said he might be able to help her figure out her powers drew her to him even more. Her piercing eyes stared down at Kyoko, waiting for his answer. |
Nana no more than nodded as he told her she looked like a frail child. She had taken no offense to it. She was a child, though she imagined with her small body she looked a bit younger than she was. "Kyoko," she confirmed. It was good to know finally who he was. It made him seem less of a stranger.
Nana closed her eyes as he put his hand to her forehead. She was surprised on how much she wasn't afraid. As he began she could feel each thought being pulled away. She flinched a few times. The pain wasn't unbearable, nothing compared to before. They just came as small surprises. Either way she was glad when he was done. She touched her head. There was nothing there, but her own thoughts. She couldn't help, but laugh as well. "Sorry," she muttered. She bowed to him in the best way she could. "Thanks Kyoko. I hope you have a safe journey, I really do." She took up Miwa's reins and began to lead her back towards Emelia and Hui. She hoped that she would never have to fight Kyoko, though she was sure that he'd probably would have no trouble with her. It was just that he'd been kind her, today was one of those rare days that had never happened to her before. No one was ever really kind to her back home. They would be be polite when they needed to be, and they would wonder at her as she danced, but nothing more. She tried to not think about it, but their whispers were loud, and it was hard not to want to roll her eyes when they pretended. Today though, three people had done for her so much more than what her people had done for her in her entire life. Nana came just as Hui had asked the question She decided to wait on Emelia to answer before she did. she had already made up her mind. Raphael quickly followed after Sakyo. At this point he was glad to be leaving. They had wasted enough time here. |
Emilia still wasn't sure whether to trust Kyoko with his hand laying on Nana-Haru's forehead but she bit on her tongue as Nana-Haru spoke. Emilia felt a slight pang of guilt, he had always questioned blessings, it probably wasn't likely that she would stop soon. As Kyoko responded, Emilia actually laughed when he said that Nana-Haru's friends could beat him if she was hurt, and quickly covered her mouth. It was time for Izaya to give Emily the funny looks, which she ignored.
The other side? Emilia, still kneeling next to Nana-Haru turned as a few people snapped at Hui, Emilia had ignored the firecracker, too concerned with Nana-Haru and Kyoko. But now Ava had posed a question that insighted a thoughtful reply, giving Emilia another nasty feeling in her gut. She didn't want to question the motives of the goddess, she had jumped right into the mission with blind loyalty simply because she wanted a more meaningful purpose in life. As Emilia listened to the conversation between Ava and Kyoko, she started to sway more and more their direction. It would be a good thing to have control over her own powers, she knew that she had absolutely no idea how to use them. Once she realized what was happening she jerked her head away, clamping down on her own thoughts. She had decided to follow the goddess and that's what she was going to do. Grammy had called the woman in Emily's dream a 'good omen'. Perhaps, if the goddess wasn't as good as she was lead on to be, at least Emilia could get answers at the mountain. Then Nana-Haru made to get up, Emilia stood up, her eyes frantic as she watched the girl clamber onto the horse with the help of Nobu. "Y-you're welcome..." However she watched unbelieving as she went over to the strange man that offered so much, wondering if Nana-Haru was going to leave with him. However there was a strange aura about him as Nana-Haru approached, both worrying Emily and piquing her interest. Grabbing Elan's reins, the good horse had stood still next to Miwa and Nana-Haru the whole time, she walked over closer to Nana and the rest of the group, watching and listening as Kyoko eased Nana-Haru's problem once again. Emilia stopped a few steps away from the group, Ava joined announcing why. Emilia's fidgeting got worse as Nana-Haru drew closer, and she jumped when Hui's spoke up, letting out a squeak. She hid behind Elan again, and took a deep breath before looking at Hui, she hadn't seen his shape-changing antics, and that was probably a good thing for now. "I-I am.." Her eyes, however, were settled on Ava. Taking a deep breath she ran forward, passing Nana-Haru with an apologetic look and gesture as Izaya took to the air, startled. . Emilia stopped on her toes, next to Ava and looked anxious as she addressed the girl that also stood as a bodyguard in front of Crim. "I-if we meet again... w-will you t-tell me the other side.. of the st-story?" Her eyes were wide and hopeful. (( XD I'll find a good medium between too long and too short eventually! )) |
