That topic. I'm trying to give my characters last names for a comic I gotta do for my Cartooning class and this bitch decided to not give a HELPFUL response and pointed out that my side character has a "ghetto" name and she's black, completely ignoring the two of the main characters are colored and DON'T have "ghetto" names. If I truly wanted to be racist, I wouldn't fuckin' put them in at all. I'd just have a white crew. BESIDES EVEN MY WHITE PEOPLE AREN'T AMERICAN. but, yes.... you can see it there. and if you have last names to suggest, that'd be awesome 8D |
AUGH. I hate when people pull the "but you're being racist" card. People can be sooo hypersensitive to that kind of thing and just jump on it in a second, even when it's not necessary. Jesus. Makes me wonder how often people are obnoxious just to be obnoxious.

I know! And the thing is stereotypes come from SOMEWHERE and it's one of the best methods to get people to laugh these days, because they KNOW that it's over-dramatic.
I don't plan on Latrisha being in a gang and only speaking in ghetto slurs. I tend to put what I've witnessed into it. Though, I may have her not speak right like my mom's boyfriend XD because I think it's funny. He says four "Fo" XD I wish I remembered how he said spaghetti XD I might make Hans slip up too, because I want him to be European and shiz. Maybe I can just be accent central XD lmao. I have no idea. |

In my experience, people only really call you racist when they themselves are racist. I think that girl is right, there are a lot of black chars that are not given the time of day but, we all need to remember that we have a sense of humor and we only perpetuate stereotypes when acting and reinforcing negative behaviors. In short: let the girl call you a racist. She's wrong. |
Mhm, I'm just tired of hearing it, ya know? I heard it during high school plenty of times. I don't let some black guy use my friend's markers and I'm racist, despite rejecting the white guy who asked before him.
It's obvious I'm not racist, since my main cast isn't just white, but no. She ruins it. I deal with stupid heads all day! I work with kids and a lot of them consider themselves "gangsta thugs." Please, bitch. I was raised in Los Angeles! And not the good part where all the chick with fake boobs run around!
A kid yesterday got all uppity at me because I told him to watch his mouth. Stupid shit was LOOKING at the bathroom and asked where the eff the bathroom was (might I add that he was being totally serious because he turned back to his friends and asked a few more times in the same way.) Then he tries to mouth at me and I just stood next to him and said "You see me crying? You think you scare me? Try again, fool" and I walked away. Other people may say it's racist because the kid is black but he is the one reinforcing the negative stereotype and I am standing up for myself. You don't treat other human beings that way. All the time the kids at my work cry racism when we don't allow them to do something when they just refuse to see that the other kids that asked us the same thing not two minutes ago got dejected as well. They do it because media shows them racism in the extreme. What I think is worse is that in school we are always pointing out that people are different colors and causing a different problem. Now instead of being mean to someone because they are a different race, we are mean to them simply because they are different. What needs to be taught is that we are all HUMAN and that race should NOT be a factor. We are all HUMAN and we all have FEELINGS and those feelings get HURT when we are treated BADLY. But no...this will never be... *grumbles* This is something I get really heated about. |

O_o What are you not old enough to drink or something? Sake is good. I had sushi and sake for my 21st birthday and it was quite pleasing though, I have the tolerance of a God so it didn't really effect me.
