Charmase still seems completely lost. It's...sort of amusing.
"I don't understand," he responded, confused. |
Cadence chuckles. "You know what a baby is, right?" His tone is slightly patronizing.
|
Charmase's brow furrows a bit.
"Certainly. A 'baby' is the infant form of a human being, carried by the mother for nine months and then birthed." |
"And what makes a baby?" Cadence seems quite amused with this.
|
Charmase ponders this.
"I thought the mother made the child...and that the trigger for making the child was unconditional love from the father." |
Cadence rolls his eyes again. "The woman has the egg. The man has the sperm. The man puts the sperm into the woman via his dick. And if you ask me what a dick is I swear I'm gone.'
|
Charmase simply stared at him for a moment.
"Oh. I guess that makes sense," he replied, nodding to himself. "But how is that desire...at all? Other than desire to have children...which is not really desire--just love." |
"Sex feels good, when done right. Which leads to desire of those feelings, also known as lust." Cadence yawns a bit.
|
Charmase still looks puzzled, but he doesn't press on it.
"But other things feel nice, too..." He lifts his arms into the air. "The warmth of the sun on your skin...the ocean breeze...a conversation with a good friend...painting..." |
Cadence shrugs. "Sex releases endorphins. Which is why people like it." He looks amused.
|
Charmase still looked a tad confused.
"But so does exercise. And making art does, too..." |
"I dunno. But I'm a masochist, so I like getting pain out of it." He shrugs.
|
Charmase still looked really, really confused. But he shrugged.
"Whatever floats your boat." His eyes suddenly went hazy, like he was back to daydreaming. "My, I would love to take part in a sea-bound voyage..." |
Cadence rolls his eyes and leans against the wall again. He stares off into space, yawning.
|
Charmase simply stood there, a slightly empty look on his face as he daydreamed.
|
Cadence stares at the wall and rubs his neck. "Damn. I'm bored," he mutters.
|
Charmase stood there, daydreaming away, like he didn't have a care in the world...
Then suddenly, he started to sway a little bit. His stomach grumbled a bit, like he was very hungry. |
Cadence grabs his arm. "Sheesh. Go eat." He drops Charma's arm quickly.
|
Charmase blinked.
"Oh. I must be hungry, yes...but I won't get any food until it's time to eat," he remembered idly. "My disease does not make me special, apparently...I can only eat when the time is right." |
Cadence shrugs. "I see."
|
Charmase nodded quietly, looking a little pale. Nonetheless, he continued to daydream, smiling.
|
Cadence goes back to staring at the wall pensively. He folds his arms and sighs.
|
Charmase closed his eyes, still smiling.
"I want to visit the ocean one day," he muses softly to himself. "I want to study the tide pools...swim with dolphins...feel the cool, salty water against my skin...inhale the marine air...feed seagulls...ride on a boat...go whale-watching...doesn't it sound lovely?" He sounded like he was half-speaking to himself. |
Cadence stares at the wall, but shrugs. He seems to be thinking.
|
Charmase spun around in a circle slowly, smiling. He also seemed to be thinking. But he was thinking happy thoughts...
