~swaG~ (A super human roleplay)[open and accepting]
INTRO In Winchester, a large city that occupies a good sized chunk of the country, there are people. Now, I know what you’re thinking, “There are people everywhere, idiot.” This time, it’s different. These people are special. These people are what swaG, a government school for “gifted” individuals, are after. SwaG hides its true intentions under the façade of a regular private high school. Many people, tricked by this illusion, apply here, but it’s not the student who decides if they go to swaG or not. No, swaG comes looking for you… If swaG discoveres you, and finds you exceptional, beware... Some basics The "school" is a base for military operations in Winchester. They take advantage of some of the more compliant gifted individuals, turning them into weapons of war and science experiments. The stronger willed ones are usually the hardest to obtain, and if they keep this strong will after they have been taken, their only hope of survival is a successful experiment. Most of the agents that are employed to find and capture the gifted children are gifted themselves, either born from experiments, given to the school by irresponsible parents, or willing participants. Those who are strong enough, and strong willed enough to endure the experimentation without breaking are deemed "Failures" or "To dangerous to be released" and executed. Those who escape, if lucky enough, are never seen or heard from again, ther are even rumors of an underground society of gifted individuals that had escaped from the school and recruited others that they find in danger of being taken. This rumor has yet to be proven. |

They perform in the park, using Ed's abilities to dazzle spectators, and Ryu's to avoid the authorities. Together they form an unstoppable team. He can pretty much make any situation funny. a little bit about me: Ryu's parents abandoned him, so he was left to his own devices at a very young age. He found Ed and taught her how to live like him. He is half japanese, but strangely has blond hair, even though he's sure neither of his parents had it. He uses his speed to help Ed and himself escape from the authorities when they show up to one of their street performances. Quote:

Ed stared down at the piece of paper, she'd kept it so long, the paper was beginning to yellow, the ink beginning to fade. She tried to smooth out the "been in my pocket" creases, but they seemed like a permanent scar. She sighed, as she read the words to herself one more time,
" Edwina, you don't like that I call you that, do you? well, today is a special circumstance, today celebrates the tenth anniversary of your birth. Your father and I are so very proud of you, my special baby. we never expected you would be so gifted. Intelligent, beautiful, funny, even our friends enjoy your company. And we also never expected to find out that you had some other gifts, ones that you cannot learn. We love you, Eddie, and maybe soon the world will be ready to love you too, for EVERYTHING about you. Hapy birthday, my baby love, Mom" Ed folded the paper again, and without realizing, started to tap her fingers, creating tiny whirlwinds that scattered themselves around the ragged room of the abandoned hotel. "well, time to get to work," she said aloud. and tucked the paper back into her pocket. |
Syrina sighed and got up for another day. Being expelled, again, she had the whole day to herself. She slipped on a pair of jeans that were laying on the floor and grabbed a tank from her closet. She walked up stairs, to the main floor. Spying a note on the kitchen counter she reads it:
Expelled Again?!? How am I to keep up with you Syrina Annabella? Sy shuddered at the use of her full name, although her Aunt used it often... I have to go in to work. I'll be home late. Do something productive! Syrina raised and eyebrow, grabbed a granola bar, and got ready to go out. "Productive? Whats the point?" The normally bubbly girl sighed as she left the house. |
Ed twiddled her fingers, trying hard to keep the itch of wanting to break out the full potential of her powers in check. She listened, for the fourth time today, as Ryu gave a long-winded introduction to the crowd that had gathered to hear him.
"...Ladies and gentlemen, what I have here is nothing short of a miracle, a pure, no strings attached, marvel. Behold, good people, the rainmaker!" Ryu gestured toward Ed, and she bowed deeply to the onlookers. "My good friend," he said as he gripped a hand onto a buisiness man's shoulder, "The rainmaker can call upon the gods, do you want to see it rain?" The man, though a bit nervous at Ryu's closeness to him, nodded his head. "Well then, rainmaker, do as this man wishes!" Though she didn't need to, Ed moved and twirled, in a sort of complex dance. Ryu had told her that it helps to add to the wonder. Her arms bent and twisted in strange, symbolic seeming ways, and she jumped and spun like a ballerina. Dark clouds rolled in over the cheery blue sky, and warm rain began to fall from their bloated forms. The spectators clapped and placed money into Ryu's hat, some just stared in wonderment at the sky, others took out umbrellas, calling the marvel a cheap trick, and walked away. "that's how it'll always be," Ed thought, "there will always be those who don't believe, even if they can see." After this, Ryu slapped a congradulatory hand on Ed's shoulder and held out a fistfull of bills. "Buy us lunch?" He asked. As if she'd say no. |
Alexandria had just gotten to her job at the mechanics shop. Her job their was to do any maintenance work or repairs that needed to be done. At her age Alex needed special permission from the state due to the inherent risks from working as a mechanic... not that she could get hurt by something that small but her employer didn't know that. She untied her Coveralls from around her waist and pulled them up over her body and buttoned it up covering up the tube top that served as her shirt. She grabbed a red bandana from her breast pocket and tied it up around her head after getting her hair up into a high pony tail. She went over to get her tool box and then over to a car where she got started working on a car that she was assigned to repair.
The car she was working on was an older style Chevy Camaro SS with black racing stripes down the middle. It had to be newly restored due to a major crash. She had to repanel a good amount of the car and replace the front seats. That was the cosmetic work. She also had to order up a good amount of parts and salvaged what she could to use on the new parts that would come in soon. Right now she was installing the parts that she could. |
As they walked down the crowded, friday afternoon street, Ed had a thought, "Hey, Ryu?"
"Yeah, Eddie, what is it?" He replied, scanning around them for a deceint place to eat. "Do you ever wonder how many people out there are, 'ya know, like us? Like, special and junk?" "Yeah, I have, and ,hell, who knows, maybe the X-Men do exist, 'cause I sure as hell wonder where all of them are." "I wondered, if we could ever find any of them, how things would change, ya' know? Like, if ,maybe, some of them were older, like, if they'd be willing to take care of us?" She paused for a long moment, and Ryu said nothing,"It's a stupid thought-" "Nah, Eddie, it's not stupid." He interrupted, "Maybe - maybe one day, that'll happen, but for now, I'd say we're doing damn good on our own. Now, do you feel like pizza, or burgers for lunch?" "Pizza definitely," She replied quickly, with a big, goofy grin on her face. She stopped on one of the sidewalk cracks, and crouched into a starting position, Ryu did the same. Thus was their ritual, "First one there gets their choice of toppings!" Ed screamed," And NO cheating!" she added, with a sideways glance at Ryu, who was grinning like the cheshire cat. Passing pedestrians were staring at them with confusion, but they didn't care. "On your mark. Get set. GO!" and, quite literally like a flash, they both took off. |
Sy walked through the city she grew up in. Her home, her habitat. There wasn't another school in the city that would take her. She's end up in some strange, unknown place. She took her cheap purple plaid, bic lighter out of her pocket, and started striking it absently. She watched as a guy and a girl took off running to the pizza parlor. Syrina laughed to herself, finding any reason to smile lately was rare.

Alex was working late into the evening installing the parts that had just come in the shop ealier in her shift and she was making excellent progress and her strength was helping her tremendously. Escpecially with the heavy engine. So far she had gotten the engine into place and installed with the rest of it's parts and would get the supercharger going later. Right now she had to start it to see if she had done everything right. She got in the seat and used the key to start it up. It started but sounded like the timing was off so she turned off the car and got back under the hood and adjusted the timing belt. She got back in it and turned it on again and the timing sounded perfect but now it sounded like the fuel mixture needed to be adjusted. She once again turned off the car and got back under the hood near the engine and did some adjustments with a screwdriver before getting back in and turning it on. This time it ran well so she got out and let it run while she watched under the hood for anything wrong.

By the time they reached the the front door of Gino's Pizza, Ed was gasping for breath, "You'd think with all the running we do, I'd be in better shape!" she said. Ryu didn't look at all tired.Bastard cheated me, she thought with a misplaced smile on her face.
"Why the hell are you smiling like that?" Ryu asked, "You lost." He pushed open the door, and heard a little bell chime. The cool air of the small, ancient building rushed at him in one breathtaking wave, and his stomach growled at the delicious smells that came with it. A young, dark-haired girl behind the counter said ,"welcome to Gino's!" in a loud, perky voice, as Ryu and Ed sat down at one of the booths next to a window that showed the street they had come in from. Ed stared out at the people on the street, amazed at how little of the city she actually knew, besides this particular area. She twiddled her thumbs again, while staring. This time Ryu noticed. "Stop that." He said, placing a hand over her's. "You're going to get us in trouble if you start a show in here." Ed snapped out of her trance long enough to understand what he was talking about. "I, um- sorry." She said, putting her hands in her lap, "nervous habit, or maybe subconscious, i dunno." Ryu held his hand up for the waitress, and the dark-haired girl came to take their order. |
Agent Roseline had taken her position inside of the pizza parlor when the targets entered. She kept a steady eye on them while pretending to look over the menu of greasy Italian foods that this place served. She spoke clearly and silently into her microphone, which was disguised as a large, hoop earring.
"Targets Stormy and Speed at Foxtrot, permission to proceed with extraction." The static from her earpiece cleared breifly, enough for her to hear, "Roger that, Agent Roseline. Permission granted." Agent Marcos sipped his coffee in front of 'Thanks a Latte', flipping absently at the pages of the daily newspaper, and watching his subject, nicknamed 'Hot-shot' flicking at a lighter absently. He noticed how she watched the other two targets race to Foxtrot, and when she seemed to smile at their playfulness. "Hot-Shot located at Charlie, Permission to proceed with extraction." And, like with Agent Roseline, The static in his earpiece cleared, and he was given permission to proceed with his mission. He set down his mug, left a tip on the table, and headed toward his target. As with the other two, Agent Colby watched his target, nicknamed Xena for lack of any better description of her abilities, outside of the lighted garage. He was amazed at her mechanical ability, but kept a clear mind, focused utterly on his goal. If she did not come willingly, he would have to use the force of his own ability to bring her in. He was granted permission to continue, and he slowly approached the garage entrance. |
Alex heard footsteps and turned around. She smiled and went to turn the car off. Once she did she turned back to the man "Anything I can help you with sir?" She was getting a weird feeling about this guy but she always did when meeting new people. There were small grease marks one her face and her hand were nearly black with grease. Her body was wet with the sweat of working under a hot hood. She looked behind him and didn't see a car. "You need somebody to tow you? I can't drive yet but if you want to wait a minute I can get my boss?" She flipped the small wrench in between her fingers as she eyed the man in front of her.

Syrina walked down the street, her lighter still out being flicked.
"can I trouble you for a light?" some guy asked, clearly trying to hit on her. But Sy had good manners and held out her lighter. "sure." The guy leaned over, cocky, his cigarette in his mouth. She was so tempted to increase the flame size, scare him enough to back off a bit, but she knew she'd never bring herself to do it. When the smoke was lit, the guy tried telling her his name, but she just kept walking. |
Ed raised an eyebrow when she noticed a woman in the corner of the Parlor staring at them inconspicuously. Long years of living on the run from authority had sharpened her eyes. She motioned for Ryu to lean in closer as she whispered, "Red-Head at my ten, seems interested in us. Think she's a Bear?"
Ryu glanced around the parlor, pretending to look for their waitress, and trying hard not to look at the woman Ed had pointed out except through his peripheral vision. He took note of her features, "Shes def. got muscle, maybe a Bear, could be a Lion, who knows, but I'm not sticking around to find out." He waved the dark-haired girl and asked to get their pizza to go. *note: Bears are a nickname the pair gave to police, and Lions are government workers* Roseline noted the way her targets interacted with eachother, they seemed so in-tune to every detail, and from what lip reading she could do, they spoke in a sort of code to one another. this wasn't in their file at all. she concluded that their bond might be strong enough to cause her some trouble. Marcos kept a steady pace behind his target, but he did not follow her every movement. when he saw an attractive window display, he admired it. when a street vendor was selling hot dogs, he bought one. he was letting himself blend into the background, while simultaneously watching every move she made. when the time was right, he'd strike, but for now, he would follow and observe. Agent Colby was surprised that the girl had noticed him so quickly, but she was "gifted" after all. He put on one of his friendliest smiles, which was also the most fake. Agent Colby was not a friendly person. "The name's Roger Valentine, I own a little store about five miles east of here, Valentines from Valentine? If you've never heard of it, you wouldn't be the first." He let out a hearty laugh and continued to speak, "Well, you see, my car broke down about a mile out from here on the highway, the darn thing's a lemon, and me not knowing the first thing about an engine. Anyhoo, miss, like you said, I was hoping to get someone to tow it here. I called my wife, and she'll be here to get me in a little while, but I was wondering if it was possible to leave it here overnight? The cost is no big deal, I was planning to sell it anyway." |
Alex looked at the man and nodded "No big deal... Just let me tell my boss... since he has the keys to the tow truck" Alex leaves to go get her boss. Soon after a few minutes she came back with a man who looked to be a very fit 37 year old man with a receding hairline. He looked the man over and held his hand out "Pleasure to meet ya... let me just go warm up the truck and pull it around" As he passed by him he whispered to him only away from his ear piece "You smell like the government" He passed by as if he had said nothing and left the garage. Alex really didn't have anything to worry about since she couldn't virtually come under physical harm. She looked the man over and spoke in a friendly tone "So you're married? Any kids?"

"I really should make it up to Aunt. She's been so good to me..." Sy made her way towards a park and stopped by the playground. Pocketing her lighter, she sat on the backrest of a bench. She missed the carefree days of childhood. Not even the days before her abilities progressed, just before people expected something of her. She vaguely noticed a man, that had been using the same route as her, but shrugged it off. She wasn't naturally a suspicious person, and nothing really bothered her about him.

Jinx sat on a swing in the park and swung herself back and forth slowly,"Hmm.....What to do what to do....." She mumbled to herself.
She wanted to do something! So instead of window shopping like any ordinary girl, Jinx on the other hand, started a performance using her ablilities. She made balls of electricity float around, and she even juggled some. Soon enough there was a small crowd around her "ooh-ing" and "ahh-ing" at her tricks. |
Syrina's eyes widened. There was a girl just openly displaying her abilities. She couldn't decide if the girl was brave or foolish. She noticed the small crowd gathering. After a brief thought, she rubbed her hands together, and floated small fire balls inbetween the electrical ones. She made her way through the crowd and looked at the girl with a silent smile and a nod.

Jinx noticed Syrina walking toward her and grinned,"Want the money they're giving me?" She asked her,"I really don't need it."
Jinx stopped juggling for a while and faced Syrina as the crowd stared in awe at the sight,"My name's Jinx, Jinx Minou." She didn't know whether to trust her or not, Jinx knew she was doing something risky, but she would let her parents take care of that problem. |
"I don't need it either. How about you buy me a coffee with it?" She smiled, and stopped the flames. "I'm Syrina. Sy for short. You're electricity is pretty impressive." She felt kind of nervous having attention focused on her, but it was ok, she didn't mind it so much.

Jinx laughed,"Okay~" She didn't really need money too much if she was going to play around with her abilities. "Okay kids, I'll be back tommorow kay?" The kids watching whined but the crowd disbanded anyway.
"Yeah, I have lots of practice, sometimes I help the police with robberies and stuff~" She replied,"Your fire is amazing though! I really wish I had fire instead of electicty sometimes...." She started walking forward. "What else can you do with fire Sy?" |
Ryu piggy-backed Ed as they left the parlor, the pizza box smushed between them. He began to pick up speed when he noticed the woman who had been watching them start to leave the pizza place as well. He figured that she wouldn't wonder where they had gone, once they took of she couldn't catch them anyway.
He passed a park as he sped along the sidewalk where a small crowd had gathered then dispersed. He wondered what it was all about, but he didn't stop moving. Sense won out over curiosity. Roseline hit the outer wall of the pizza place with her fist when she saw that her targets had gone. "I've lost them," she said into her earpiece, and walked casually down the street in the opposite direction of the pair. Marcus veered left when he noticed his target talking to another girl. He'd seen the balls of energy that she seemed to be playing with and shook his head. nobody with power like that would be dumb enough to use it so openly. It had to be a trick. Colby shook his head at the girl's question. " I kinda wish I didn't." he joked, " I have a daughter, about your age I guess, but she's crazier than all get-up. She dyed her hair pink last week, but, what can you do. My wife say's she's expressing her 'individuality' I just think she wants attention, but that's just me." He smiled again. He may have been lying about having a wife, but he hadn't been lying about his daughter. That made him twitch a bit. |
Jinx counted the money she was given and looked through her pockets,"Oh I forgot something, I'll meet you at the shop Sy!~" Jinx ran back to the park and found her wallet in the hands of some random guy.
"Hey, can I have my wallet back please?" She asked sweetly. The man said nothing and ran off, wallet in his hands. Jinx sped after him, cursing under her breath to herself,"Give that back!" She yelled after him. |
Sy smiled. "It's just fire." She shrugged and then nodded when she went back to the park. Syrina played with her hair as she walked to the coffee shop. She liked Jinx, finally someone that she could talk to about being different.

Jinx sprinted after the thief and cornered him in an alleyway, it was bright so it didn't scare her as much. Jinx gave him a death glare and said,"Okay, last chance, give me my wallet."
The man was silent. "Okay," Jinx took out an unloaded gun and pointed it at the man. In response the man laughed, but was silenced after a large shot of lightning passed his head, barely missing, shortly followed with a loud BOOM. He dropped the wallet and scurried away. Jinx picked up her wallet and walked out of the alley. "I didn't think I had to use the gun," She said to herself as she walked to the coffee shop. |
