Good evening! Welcome to Black Swans Lonely Hotel Lobby! How may we be of service to you tonight?

My name is Jamie, aka Swan, and I'm the proprietor of this fine establishment. I started this thread because I chiefly get on here when I'm stuck working the overnight shift at a local hotel in real life. Super dull, and pretty creepy honestly. You see I work totally by myself, and sometimes I swear this place is haunted. Alas, the ghosties aren't the creepiest part. I also get all kinds of creepoid drunks and just plain old creepy sober people coming in looking for a room who for some reason seem to feel that hitting on the desk clerk is a fun and acceptable pass time. It doesn't help that I'm a red head, which apparently draws you a whole crowd of fetishest people that want to obsess over you just because of your genetically abnormal hair color.

My my, now I'm off topic. The point to all this, my lovely friends, is that I am so very, VERY bored. I hope anyone out there will come on in and chat with me to keep me company, or even just to introduce yourself for a few brief moments. So come on into my hotel lobby (and by that I mean this thread, not my actual lobby, that would be a little weird and creepy if you found me for real!) Chill by the fire, watch tv, and check out the fantastic fake ficus scattered about. Most of all though, talk to me, or my constantly growing staff :-) Ask me anything, or tell me anything. I'm always happy to answer or listen.

Hope someone else out there is as bored as I am!

Also, please do be nice to my a fore mentioned constantly growing staff. Listen to them, as they are my eyes and ears while I'm not here, and do be nice! I wouldn't make them my staff if I didn't love and adore them. If you come around enough and prove to be a regular I may just offer you a place too! At the very least you may become one fo our V.I.P. guests! Don't forget to tip your bellhop!

Hi Jamie! Nice to meet you :) I am new too and looking for people to talk to. I have actually wondered what it would be like to work as the desk clerk at a hotel. I can imagine that the overnight shift is not the most fun when you have to deal with creepy drunks and possibly ghosts.

I like your question. And I have to say that I would love a hunky Irish rouge to show up at my hotel room door :) Especially if he had long hair. I have always been attracted to guys with long hair (as long as they take good care of it and it's not all gross). I think I would prefer someone like that over a celebrity. What about you? Who would you want to show up at your door?

Hey meeee tooooo! I love long hair on a guy :-) My hubby has hair longer than mine, and it's super dark brown, so it's almost black ^_^ I loves it. As for who I'd like to have show up... hmm that's a toughy. Well, since I'm married I'd have to say a professional masseuse and manicurist to pamper me, who had been paid for in advance by someone else. BUT, were I single, I think I'd have to go with some tall, dark, mysterious manly man, who really knew how to make a women feel like a women, and do things to her that only a real man knows how to do... lol :-p

Girl, I am so jealous that you found one with long hair, lol. I am still looking. And pampering would be nice but since I am indeed single, I have to say that I like your idea of the tall, dark, mysterious manly man who knows how to make a woman feel good. Mmhmm. Where can I get me one of those? :)

Lol, well if I find somewhere that ships that kinda guy out I'll definitely let you know. My hubby is great, but sadly, still kinda immature. I find he's more prone to sitting and playing video games or watching the latest arsenal football match then random acts of romanticism. Sometimes I feel like I'm still raising him, lol :-p

lol well I guess no man is perfect. Maybe they should be required to take romance classes. Anyways, how is your night going? Are you at work? Have you had to deal with any crazies tonight?

Yep I'm at work. No crazies yet, but it has been pretty busy. We're booked to capacity and I've still be getting people coming in, who of coarse get mad at me when I don't have any rooms left, cause somehow that's my fault? Lol. People get so rude and indignant over the most ridiculous things. I had a women call me a common idiot one time when our water went out because of a water line breaking up the line from us. I believe she said something along the lines of "Well how stupid are you people. What kind of an idiot are you to not even be able to keep the water functioning at your hotel. I will be writing in to the corporate offices about this, and you better not expect to keep your job. I'll have this whole worthless hell whole condemned." Now bare in mind this was after I'd already been grovelling and apologizing for the last ten minutes, and had already explained that it wasn't our hotel, it was the city water. Also I'd already refunded her her money as well. I just don't get why some people are like that. It's like they have to be mean just for the sake of being mean.

Ugh, I can't stand people like that! That woman acted ridiculously. I mean I understand that the situation was inconvenient but that wasn't your fault and in no way should she have blamed you. It sounds like you were being very reasonable. I feel like some people just want to be miserable and no matter what you do to try to please them they still won't be happy. What happened to treating others with respect?! I have worked retail so I know how rude people can be and it makes me sad.

On another note, do you do any role playing on here? I am new to this and I haven't done any rp before but I would like to. I looked at some of the rp threads but it seemed like they all have so many people.

I do a little, but I'm having the same problem, they're all just so, established. I actually started a thread called The Earth Between, it's about the ever raging war between heaven&hell and such things as that. Angels vs demons, with one tweek, the 1/3 of 1/3 of heavens legions that refused to choose a side during the initial war, and were cast out just the same, but not damned to hell as the demons who warred against god were. It may be a little offensive to the truly zealous religious folks, but thats mroe just based on who all gets into playing it. It's still pretty young, and mostly it's just me and 2 other girls going back and forth, so if you wanted to jump in that would be so awesome! Also, I'm off work the next 2 nights, so I may not be on again till thursday, but I'm gonna try and deal with our stupid dial up at home long enough to at least check in, so I'll talk to ya soon!

Good! Work has been so crazy since I've been back. I just got bumped to random daylights, which mean sI get less time to be on here, but it's nice because it's a busier shift, so the day goes by faster.

Glad you came in :-) Yeah working a desk can be ridiculously dull or crazy busy. What I hate is when you get lingerers. theres usually at least one or two a night of guests that assume that just because you smile and are sweet to them means that they should stand around talking to you at the desk extensively. It's not always terrible, I've met a few nice ones, but usually they're pretty freakin creepy

Haha ya. It's kind of hard to tell if people are smiling because it's their job or because they like you/company nowadays. Sad really.
So. How bout them mets?
I've decided to pull an all nighter. So let's see if we can keep me away.

Haha. wish I had the choice. I have a 6month old daughter at home who will most likely be up when I get home, she usually is. Sooo, I'll get home, get her out of bed and dressed/fed, cuddle with her till I get sleepy, usually around 9, then wake my husbands up and kick his butt outa bed to be up playing with the lil babe while I get a few hours sleep before he has to wake me back up to go to work at 4. Thus is life though. I sometimes get to sleep a whole 6 hours on my day off! It's rare, but it happens from time to time :-p

As for the mets... thats baseball right? Not a baseball person. More of a hookey and futball (yes I mean soccar, not football, though I can stand to watch that too) person myself

Not a big sports fan myself (well Gladiating's a sport right?) but The Met's is an age old(And hilarious) ice breaker.
The life of a job and baby doesn't sound too fun.

Not really a choose. Couldn't fall asleep earlier and if I go to sleep now I'll be asleep til supper, and mother would get pissed... When I move out I probably won't get out of bed... So I don't expect to last long after I move out xD

It has it's downsides, but I really can't complain. I rather like what I do, despite it's creepy people, and my child is the light of my life :-) The husbands a good guy to, most of the time, lol.

I sooooo remember those days of the staying up all night to not let my parents know that I was still up at 6 am, not just getting up. I used to sneak out at night, and take my running stuff with me so that I could put it on and run a few laps around the house to work upa sweat real quick then make the excuse that I'd gotten up at 5 for a morning mile (I was in track, and actually did this from time to time, so they never questioned it)

Nice. I don't sneak out. Not a crazy rebel... Just stay home and play games, and watch SPACE (Canadian Sci-Fi channel). Which they don't approve of too much.
Track... I don't think we have a track team actually... I was in one of them cross country runs once. Barely finished it... So lazy.

You wanna know whats funny about when I'd sneak out? I snuck out to go sit and my older brothers apartment playing video games and watching movies with him and his girlfriend. Lol. I was so rebellious. My family took my psx from me junior year (2002-2003) because I was playing xenogears to much and not going to bed, so I went over there to play it (because they gave it to him when they took it from me) cause he just didn't care and knew what it was like to but up with their tyranny.

O_o also I feel inclined to let you know that if you ever see zombie looking fellow wandering around with no shirt on named Killian_Ruya that's my mule so feel free to talk to me. I just felt like being a boy for my mule account since I keep hitting the gold max in games most nights. I was curious to see how your gender got treated by people on here, lol. The moderators know, but other than that it's pretty much just you. Call it my bored social experiment
