Out of curiosity, what would the restrictions be between Don/Crew member relationships? Or are any love interests strictly bound to 'NPC's? Just interested in dynamics is all.

And what are the limits on humans that are shot up on all sorts of bioengineering/gene testing? I mean, since there is already the whole faye deal going on, would I be in the clear as long as it was theoretically possible? I could pm you details if you want better specifics.

There's some pretty hectic don/assistant relationships, you just have to check with the person playing the Don. And I don't think anything strictly has ot be NPC. Like I said, it's up to person playing the Don.

And I'll leave the other question to the GMs 'cause I don't know.

There really isn't much limit between the Don and Crew, but it would be wise to talk to the person playing the Don you have in mind. Currently our Don of Vasile and her assistant have quite a romance brewing behinds scenes. We support drama here so if somehow you have a character from one Mafia that's hitting it with a don from another Mafia that'd be quite interesting.. but I don't know what you're plans/ideas are on that.

About the humans that work for the Mafias! I don't see why the theoretically possible wouldn't apply to the characters.. But it was our general idea that the lower crew members would be human and would have very little idea that their leaders were actually some sort of mythical creature... Only the assistants to the Don would really know the magical cases of their leaders..

However there definitely could be exceptions, after all, members of Mafias do have their own agenda and reasons for joining, do they not?

I'm sure Nova can expand more whenever she finds the moment.. Senior year is kicking our butts... hers probably more than mine because.. she has to attend school again next year...

I could see some very entertaining and twisty plot threads in that direction. -cackles- I wasn't expecting my character to know they were, erm, 'magically gifted'. I was just trying to come up with a plausible reason as to how I could use my baby I've been wanting to roleplay with for a long time. He's former a KGB agent and since this is modern... well... he can't exactly be 80-100, y'know what I mean?

I was thinking that he'd had some sort of chemical/enzyme that replaced&replicated the telomere DNA at the end of one's chromosome, preventing cell degeneration from occuring through replication. Probably some other protection methods, just to prevent him from most poisoning or dying a death of natural causes. Just a Soviet experiment... who knows enough about Russia and plenty of other European countries to cause some real havoc. A Sydney Reilly in his own right, with friends in all sorts of high and low places. After all, where do you think a Mafia gets its connections?

I hear the Fiore's wouldn't mind an Alkaev collapse, and Alexei was conviently available, looking for cover/obscurity and some loverly dough. Of the paper and metal variety. And perhaps not feeling particularly charitable towards any of the Russo/Slavic persuasion. Who knows? I am rather open.

*grins mischievously* I quite like your ideas. You can always try to submit a profile to Nova, I haven't known her to turn down many. If she has a bigger issue she'll probably just ask for adjustments. If she doesn't come by this sometime tonight I'll talk to her tomorrow seeing as we both attend the same school... And I'll bring up you're ideas and see if she has any objections.

hmn about your point about only assistants knowing the magical natures of the bosses, i would think that it makes sense that the body guard(s) know about their nature as well, for how else can they be ready for anything if something they do could harm the don. it also allows them to plan more effectively for the unknown.

xD I'm keeping as best an eye as I can on the god-moding. However I'm leaving it mostly up to Nova to punish people for doing such things... I developed a habit of working with god-moders.. by twisting around their post, finding the holes in the events and asserting other events... I don't typically kick someone in the arse for moding, just guide their characters and posts in a different way...

And I've Rp'd with all sorts of people in all sorts of places. I've done Para and semi-para on Yahoo, story-lines on Aol, random ones on Aol.. and it's been the past two years that I've been RPing on Forums.. xDD I love the relatively slow posting because of how much time I really spend away from the computer..

before I would RP with people in Chatrooms in IMs on AOL where the posts were not only hellaciously instant but they were also grievously long... Until I went to Gaia I RP'd with people that only considered you a good RPer if you had quite a few paragraphs and mounds of detail... I've changed my views on RPing since then. Just as long as everyone understands what you're character's doing and it's not too difficult to read, then that's a good RPer IMO...


Oh! Eblan/Daniel person... I wish you luck! I hope Nova gets on soon and has a look on your profile, can't wait to see what gets accepted.

hmn.... six... seven years? i was writing stories and poems before that though.

and i know what y9ou mean about the "instant rp's" i don't know i think it helped me in my typing speed because you had to type so fast just to keep up lol. ive also had plenty of diversity in my rp's, fronm regular "she leans against the wall as she studies the room where every one else is gathered" to cyber rp. all different levels of rp'ers as well... jeez some of them were bad even to my standards back then.

on a side note, im looking foward to seeing your character in this story, it should spice things up a bit ^^

D= Bleh, cyber Rp. That's one thing I could never do, a friend and I developed a habit of making whorish characters that turned out to be assassins... man it pissed them off...

I did skim through all the posts, but I'm still a little sketchy with what is going on, especially with the more recent additions (Zaki, and one or two others). Also, I figured that, depending on the methodology Giovanni (or any other Fiore in general) wants to use it might be best that Alexei /not/ appear to be in anyone's employ at a meeting of all the Dons. I'll have to see after reading a little more.

Nova, can I call you that? I'm glad that I am loved. It feels rather nice. XD And, my idea really isn't that spectacular. I just have a way of twisting things so they allow me to tortu- ahem, I mean 'bring into play' some of my beloved characters.

On the subject of AP exams. I have AP Euro this year, and rumor (i.e. the word of my instructor, who has only been teaching the course for 20+ years) is that Euro is the most eclectic of the AP tests (combines World Civ I and World Civ. II), at least in the history department. Would either of you have any study suggestions? I can't study worth a rat's ass. Halp?

I study ish. And I loved AP Euro!! Granted I transferred to a completely different school and learning style in the middle of my course... So I never took the AP test but before I transferred the teacher grilled us on DBQs and the like... If I could give you all of the papers I kept, I would hand them two you. But.. I suggest looking up previous DBQs and how certain people answered them, and analyze what was done wrong and right...

And have fun with AP Euro, make inside jokes about certain events... like.. Oh! I remembered one of the massacres because some official dude got defenestrated, and defenestrated is a really amusing word (to me) meaning to throw someone out of the window. Watch interesting documentaries on a few of the wars... develop a few time lines of the major events..

er... I don't know any other way to suggest you study for that test, my teachers were great at making the topic quite interesting... And I'll work on that summary as soon as I can. We should probably push to have the meeting go a lil faster just so that your character can come in... xD;;; oy school sucks
