Lunar Shadows (Rules)
1. This is a rp based forum only for vampires and humans!! I will not accept any werewolves!!! 2. Please try to keep your language appropriate. That means no dropping any F-bombs!!! Other then that, you're fine. 3. Romance is encouraged, but don't take it into the cybering zone, however a simple kiss or very close closeness is okay. 4. Don't kill anyone unless you have both my and the person who your killing's permission! 5. If you decide that you wish to quit this forum, please let me know and I will think of a creative way to remove you from the story line. This also works for if you'll be gone for awhile, but plan on coming back. 6. For speech, put " " around whatever you're saying. For thoughts, put ' ' around your thoughts and if sending a thought to another character, please italisize. For "out of the story" comments, put ( ) around your message and address whoever it's going to please! 7. Send me a PM with your profile before posting!! If I like your profile, I will email you back and post your profile for you in the forum. 8. Even though the forum has been opened, anyone who wishes to join is more then welcome to! Lunar Shadows (Storyline)
Humans have feared vampires for as long as we can remember, so much though that vampires are now viewed as fictional monsters; Hollywood myths. However, vampires have lived among humans in secrete, hiding in the shadows of allyways and dark streets. One city in particular, Kiria City, has drawn vampires to live in its buildings, only going out at night and very rarely, sometimes during the day. Although these vampires try to keep their secrete hidden, there are people who are able to discover the truth. Name: Dex Kindo Gender: Male Age: Appears 18; is really 165 Personality: At times he can be very sarcastic, but he is always very loyal and would do anything to protect the innocent. Around fellow vampires, he is mostly serious with a bit a humor to him, but around enemy vampires, he doesn't joke around at all. This is a guy who's bad side you really don't want to get on because he is very strong!!! Around humans, Dex can tend to act like he's superior to them, almost like he's looking down on them, however, give him some time to get used to them and he will show them respect. Dex is hiding a secret, one that may lead to some very unhappy visitors.... Special abilities: Shape-shifts into a black panther. Can become invisible and can also levitate. He's also very advanced in healing magic. A special feature of Dex that you may have noticed is that he can't shape-shift into a flight form. Gwen walked down the sidewalk of the dark city street. She'd made plans with her friend to hang out tonight, but unfortunately her friend had to cancel. Now Gwen had nothing else to do but go out and try to find something worth giving her attention. "Boy this night is a drag....." she mummbled to herself. "There must be something to do. Anything!!"

Dorian smiled at the cashier after finishing his transaction and making his way back home. He threw the plastic bag over his shoulder and passed through the automated sliding doors that led him outside. He had to stop and admire the stars for a few moments, it was only here, standing in the doorway to the local grocery, where he could see them all so clear. He loved to stare at the darkened sky, but he knew he shouldn't do it for long because of the rumors about vampires roaming the streets.
After a long sigh, he lowered his head back to his normal eye level and with his groceries still in hand he took a leisurely stroll back to his mother's house. His mother would send him to buy groceries late at night because she would usually forget about her lack of dinner ingrediants until it was far past dinner time, but she was much too afraid to venture in the dark anymore. Dorian didn't believe the rumors, so what had he to fear? |
Gwen noticed movement to her left and quickly stepped back into the shadows. She peered out curiously and saw a cute brown haired boy walking down the sidewalk. 'He's pretty cute.' she thought. She decided to take a chance and stepped back out of the shadows to face the boy. "Hey! Uh...It's not often I see people out this late at night. My name's Guineviere, but you can call me Gwen. What's your name?"

Dorian stopped when a strange woman popped out in front of him from a shadowed street corner. He looked at her with his emotionless expression and his eyes scanned her figure, up and down, right to left. He noticed her pale skin, lacking in the healthy red tint of the presence of blood, at this time it meant nothing to him. She might've just had an ailment, Dorian wouldn't accept that she was dead.
Dorian's eyes turned back ahead and without changing the look on his face he replied, "Dorian." He began to walk again, wondering if Gwen would follow him trying to make idle conversation like he was hoping she would or if she would take the logical approach and leave him with just an awkward stare before turning the other way. As he continued forth he commented on her observation. "Everyone is afraid of the monsters around this city. I don't believe they are real." |
"Really? Hmm, well I do. They're quite an interesting thing to believe in you know.....They also give life a bit of a twist. So...why don't you believe in them?" This boy was turning out to be very interesting.....not to mention he was cute.

His face turned into a faint smile as he tried to think of a good reason why. He had to stop walking for a moment and he furrowed his brow in contemplation. Dorian could not come up with a response, so he just started talking, hoping he'd accidentally answer her question. "Well, I guess there isn't any proof either way... not that I'm aware of anyway. I suppose there is no reason I don't believe in them, they just seem unrealistic to me." He paused. "Besides, there has only ever been mention of them in fiction novels, I haven't heard of a historic figure being a vampire or whatever... Have you?" By this time, he had continued walking, but he had turned toward Gwen and was now walking backwards, occasionally glancing behind him to avoid colliding with trees and buildings.

Gwen's cool grey eyes grew soft. Dorian really seemed to be trying to have an open mind, unlike almost all the other humans she'd tried to make friends with. They were either totally convinced that some kind of supernatural creature would get them even if they stepped one toe out of their house at night or they were so sure that such things didn't exsist that they wouldn't even consider trying to even find out for sure. Dorian was much different....Gwen liked that. She bit her lip thoughtfully for a moment before responding, "Alright, I've made a decision!"

Katie walked down the street,feeling the cold wind in her hair.She had her navy blue tote bag over her shoulder filled with stuff since she had just been at her friends.But now she had to walk all the way back to her own house,because knowing her luck her mother was drunk and probably watching soap operas.She sighed and looked around at the darkness of the street surrounding her and seeing all the shop windows as she passed.Usually when she walked by here at nite with a friend her friend would be shaking and talking about the supposed vampires that lived here.Katie herself did not believe in them since as she got old she started realizing no fairy tales exsisted.And her thoughts of fairytales involved mystical creatures and sorts..but really she only stopped believing because of her fathers death and how after that..life wasn't much of a fairytale anymore.Atleast,it wasn't like being little and having stories read to you every nite,dreaming about princesses and monsters the whole time.She pushed her black bangs out of her face and looked into a small book store window.

"A decision?" Dorian questioned, "What have you decided?" He slowed down a bit, allowing for her to catch up to him so he could face forward with and walk side by side with her. He kept his face forward but his eyes would dart back and forth looking at Gwen, then at the road. His house wasn't too far from where they stood now, but he wasn't sure if he should go there now or take the long way. It wasn't a hard decision, he'd rather be outside with a stranger than crammed inside with his crazy mother. He loved her to death, but dealing with her wasn't his favorite part of life in the least.

Gwen looked at Dorian and gave him a quaint smile. "I've decided that I-" She suddenly stopped talking and walking. 'Should I tell him? He doesn't even seem like the type that really tries to understand the unknown. I suppose I could show him, but what if I show him and he thinks I'm terrifying? That...would be bad...and I...kinda like him.' Sighing in frustration, Gwen looked up at Dorian and asked, "I want to show you something about me, but can I trust you? I mean, if I were to show you something kinda scary, would you.....not want to be near me? You'd be the first human that I've shown....."

Katie finally reached her neighborhood where many houses were and sat on the porch swing of her home.She laid back on it and looked at the sky,shivering from a gust of wind and then looked at her neighbors house,seeing her neighbor Ms Hormell talk to her cat in her big chair while watching television.The woman was old..but she wasn't blind.So hopefully she was sane enough to realize the cat couldn't talk back.

Dorian pondered for a moment, by now he had figured out something was strange about Gwen. He desperately wanted to know what she was going to show him, but he was still hesitant because he didn't know if he would run or not. "I promise I won't run," he was reluctant to say it, but his curiosity made him promise. He knew now that he would have to stay, regardless of how terrifying he thought it was. Maybe he wouldn't mind it at all, maybe she was overreacting? Only time would tell...

Gwen's smile returned. "Really? You mean it? Umm...let's go over here." Gwen took Dorian's free hand and pulled him into one of the deserted allyways. She blushed as she entwinded her fingers with his. "So you asked if I knew anything about vampires in real life or if I've heard of them......Well, I have. I know quite a lot about them because I'm a vampire." She looked up at Dorian and felt him tense. Gwen's cool grey eyes now had a bright fuschia tint to them and the pupils had narrowed to thin lines. Her normal pale skin had a shadowy look to it and her teeth had extended and sharpened. "Please don't run Dorian. I wasn't going to attempt feeding on you, I swear. The thought hadn't even crossed my mind. I wasn't even going to tell you, but you seem much more different then all the other humans I've met in my lifetime......You have more of an open mind and I....I like that."

Dorian was confused at first, he knew there was a reason behind all the insanity and fear, but he was definitely not expecting to find out what it was. He found himself just staring at Gwen a bit in shock from her transformation. He started to back away slowly, but remembering his promise brought him to a stop. "A... vampire? You?" Dorian stumbled on the words as they came out.
After the initial fear, he became curious. "How long have you been like this? How many others are there? Why are you all bundled up in this town?" He drew closer to her and inspected her to make sure she hadn't just tricked him somehow. |

Gwen slightly blushed a deeper pink as Dorian moved closer. "I...I was turned when I was about 16.....I've been like this for a little more then 100 years....As for living in this town, I've been hearing some other vampires talking about a Cresent Stone, a very powerful magick shard that was supposed to have come from the moon. I don't know much about it though...." Gwen noticed the look on Dorian's face. He was terrified of her. She frowned and felt her eyes well up with tears. This was why she never told any humans of her secret. "You think I'm cursed, like I've got some kind of disease." She sniffled as a single tear ran down her cheek. Dorian's thought's were telling her that if he hadn't promised not to run, he'd already be two blocks away from her. "I'm sorry I scared you. Forget I even said anything.....Y-you can go if you want...."

Dorian felt really bad at this point, he never meant for her to cry. "I'm not gonna run," he finally said, "So please stop crying!" He didn't know what to do when it came to a crying girl; he hadn't been near many girls outside his family, and when he was he definitely didn't talk to them. By now Dorian was far from afraid of Gwen, instead he found himself empathizing with her. "I'm sorry, I just never saw a vampire before... I wasn't sure they existed until now, so don't take offence to my first reaction!"
He kept trying to explain himself until her eyes began to dry. When she calmed down a bit Dorian adjusted the bag on his shoulder and remembered he had to be home. He gasped, "Mother! She's going to be very mad at me! I have to get going, but you can come with and I'll talk to you after dinner... if that's okay with you?" ((Hi guys, I'm still alive, I just haven't been on the internet in a long time. D: )) |
Gwen sniffled, but still managed to give Dorian a small smile. "Yeah, that actually sounds nice. It's not often I get to go to a friend's house....Thank you." She nodded and blushed again as Dorian looked at her different features....again. She liked how interested he was in her. She never got much attention from any guy she'd ever met so this was a new experience for her. Maybe...Maybe Dorian and her could be good friends. Gwen felt that she could trust him and that was something she didn't feel often when it came to humans. "Umm, are you sure you've never seen a vampire before? Do you go out at night often?" Gwen was suddenly getting a feeling about Dorian that he'd been fed on before. She had no idea how she knew, but she did. "Is it possible that you may have been....bitten? If you had, the vampire who did it may have erased your memory of the feeding. You wouldn't have been turned of course because that requires the exchange of blood between that human and the vampire, but still the vampire could have fed off you without killing you. Is this even possible? Do you have any kind of gap in your memory where you can't remember anything at all?" she asked beginning to feel concerned.
