How do you kiss someone for the first time? /kisses in general

Personally, the first time when I kiss someone, I keep my mouth closed.

What drives me nuts is when you're first trying to kiss someone and they instantly open their mouth and slobber on you.

I don't find that attractive in the least, it's one thing if you're to that point, but it's another if you're just trying to sweetly kiss someone for the first time. :O

Other Spoons:
When did you have your first kiss? (If you've had it already)
& was it any good? (again if you've had it)
Do you like to kiss or do you prefer other things? Like holding hands or nuzzling someone's neck to kissing?

~LONGCAT~ 03-19-2010 11:14 PM

Lips closed!! nothing says "puts out" by not being reserved and conservative in the beginning. I also don't kiss on the first date.
My first kiss was actually a 'thank you' kiss to my first bf 6 months into our relationship. (I'm fairly certain he was gay). and with my current boyfriend it was something I just felt I had to do, he helped me out of a tough situation (hot water heater exploded) and made me dinner and was generally really sweet about everything, and I'm head over heels in love with him.
I really enjoy monster hugs, sneaking up on him and attack hugging him. And cuddles. Mostly attack hugs, because they tend to lead into piggy backs :D

I HATE french kissing. I dunno, I've got a thing about spit. After six months with my boyfriend only now am I comfortable enough to occasionally kiss him like that.
I prefer kissing over hand holding, but then again nuzzling is nice too. I just like to be held.
My first kiss (If you don't count the younger years like five and such) was when I was 14. It was just after my fist date. :) It was so cute and I was so nervous. I was waaay too immature to hold a relationship. <3
I think I was still scared of boys.

*pounces monstahh*

i don't like people that try to tongue bang my mouth right off the bat either.
and i like cuddling more than kissing! ^^

but all of it is good. i don't think i could live without kissing or cuddling or nuzzling necks or or spooning!

kerina 03-20-2010 01:38 AM

First time always ought to be closed mouth. It's just supposed to be that way I guess, more classy, more normal, less freaky!

Closed mouth kissing is the most affectionate... Open mouthed kissing is more passionate.

If things are getting hot, it's definitely open mouthed, using teeth, biting lips... ;) lots of changing it up.

But if it's a thank you kiss, or I love you kiss, a lingering, closed mouth, and almost repetitive, brushing kisses on the mouth.

(All this from the nekkid girl)

I hate tongue with a passion. It's so goobery and awful. Try telling that to sir tongues a lot (aka: my husband) though. It's the one thing I can't stand about the man. He doesn't think you can have a heated, erotic kiss without tongue. X(

Requiem0fEternity 03-20-2010 02:09 AM

Rofl, Sir Tongues a Lot...WIN

Honestly though, my boyfriend [first REAL one] kind of took it faster than I would have preferred, but I was so nervous, he tested the waters and gave me an "Is it ok?" look, and I dove in, lol. I like the tongue if we're getting hot and heavy, but too much is like "Stop searching for my left-over dinner and give me a real kiss." We both favor open-mouthed but occasional tongue, with heavy breathing. n.n

kerina 03-20-2010 02:10 AM

@ Nissa... See, I think you are lucky. My boyfriend has a midget tounge (kehehe) and while it is amusing, it makes him a very very bad french kisser. But, it is his only flaw so... I forgives. :D

Girls are pickey about kisses huh?

ZeGuMmIBeaRQueEn 03-20-2010 02:16 AM

aw, ive never kissed anyone! *pout* then again, ive never exactly BEEN in a relationship... XD
BUT, when i get my first kiss, she better not go slobbering all over me!! *gag* just....ew. if the person i first kiss shoves their tongue down my throat i will shove them away and scream at the sky, "NO FAIR, I WANT A DO OVER!!!" :feesh: because nobody should have tongue in their first kiss!
no, i much better like the smiley guy's idea;

i dont much like the idea of french kissing at all. :gonk: closed mouth for me, at least until like way far into the relationship.

if anyone at all kisses me on the first date, my reaction is well put by the smiley guys;

:feesh: followed by; :talk2hand:

Nissa 03-20-2010 02:19 AM

Indeed we are kerina. I knew tons of girls in highschool who would have described my husbands oral assault as the perfect kiss. It drives me crazy!

kerina 03-20-2010 02:30 AM

Kissing, early in a relationship is pretty make-or-break. :D

Best phrase describing kissing, as said by a guy: (not an exact quote)

Before the show, there's a comedian, who is pretty good, fun, etc. But you only see the comedian if you've bought tickets to the main event. After the show, all the women in the audience want the comedian to come back.

And I say to that, If the comedian isn't good, there's usually not a show. ;)

Inoko Clan-Clan 03-20-2010 09:03 PM

Lol! Being sobbered on is so unattractive, to say the least. I usually start off closed, then go from there. Kissing too early in the relationship can also be a deal breaker.

JasperVonViktor 03-20-2010 11:23 PM

I'd rather leave my mouth closed on a first kiss, because as you and others have said, it's very unnatractive for someone to be slobbering all over you
My first kiss seems like ages ago, but I believe it was around November 09, and it was amazing :) Made my heart stop for a second, and I actually had to say "You kissed me" to get confirmation, and this wasn't just a dream
I love kissing, but I also love nuzzling up to the other :) He likes it when I act cute.

reddeath26 03-20-2010 11:32 PM

Firstly I ask you take into account that this was both my first gf, and my 'first love'. So I was quite naive. Well for about a month I had been telling her that I love her, and we had been getting closer. On this morning she had slept over (quite literally just slept with me, nothing sexual had happened at all!). I remember about 6am in the morning I went to go get some snacks and soda from the supermarket. On the way back I opened the soda drank some before putting it back in the bag. When I got back to the room I realized the lid had not been shut properly, and my cell phone had been in the bag (It stopped working as a result). At this point I was thinking "worst day ever :(". I went back to bed, and my gf woke up and said "I love you" for the first time before giving me my first kiss. It is amazing how quickly the worst day ever can become the best day ever :o

Mimiroppu 03-21-2010 09:58 AM

I've only kissed/been kissed by four people on the mouth, two of which were not at all consensual. I have only ever had open-mouthed kisses with one of those people.

Needless to say, I would never consensually kiss someone open-mouthed on the first kiss. xD Hell, it took me around nine months to start pecking one of my exes on the mouth. .__. I am really not good with physical contact.

Adia 03-21-2010 10:30 AM

Honestly I don't care how a first kiss is, closed or open. As long as there is passion behind it.

I was about twelve when I had my first kiss. I had just met a new friend during the Canada days celebration. She was the same age as me. We were playing on the jungle jim when we sat down on the slide to watch the fireworks. Then she leaned over and gave me a quick soft kiss on the mouth, right when the first firework went off. It was very romantic but funny too. Yes we were both girls but I didn't even know what the word bisexual was back then.

My first kiss with a boy was with a boy named Teddy when I was fifteen. It happened from resealing, it was completely off guard xD. We dated for a good two or three years. He had a very small tongue so we usually stayed away from Frenching due to that fact. I never minded Frenching though, It was always more passionate.

My current boyfriend and I, who we have been together for two years now kiss all the time. I don't even notice when it is french or closed kissing. Though I do know that the emotion is behind it and ever kiss feels magical.

On the other note, I love kissing. I like cuddling too. But a good, passionate kiss is just the best in my eyes. xD

Zylinder Kaninchen 03-21-2010 12:41 PM

I'm just weird. xD I've kissed two people. The first was closed. Then my next first kiss was six months into my current relationship, and that started open, but I knew him enough that it didn't feel awkward or disgusting. xD I'm 18 and I've kissed two people. I'm not unhappy with it though. Not much to regret.

The Wandering Poet 03-21-2010 06:16 PM

My first kiss was with my not yet fiance in a car shortly after we were given the chance to meet in person. I asked them to close their eyes, =) and kissed em. (regular kiss, as they were my first, though I was not theirs)

It was pretty good, if having about 300 more in the next 3 days explains enough XD (:( I miss them now that they're home for now)

I like to cuddle and kiss, though :ninja: I also do something "special" I like to do to em =D

The Real Nikki 03-22-2010 01:34 PM

My first kiss was with my bestfriend's boyfriend. :3 (yeah, I use to be that kind of girl. Hehe) I was only thirteen and now we're all still friends. I think it went well. Just a small kiss on the lips and we didn't feel anything amazing.

My first kiss with my current boyfriend wasn't amazing at all either. ):
After dating for about four months, and a bunch of awkward kisses on the cheek, I finally turned to him and gave him a fast kiss on my way out of the car. It wasn't until I was in my house that I realized what just happened and I turned so red and wondered if I should call him or if I should ignore it. He brought it up the next day, of course.

Now, three years later, whenever I see him, I can't get my mouth off of his. His kisses are like drugs. Open and closed.
Our "good-bye" kisses might not be PG-13. And all it is is kissing, I swear.

*very red at the moment*

Inoko Clan-Clan 03-29-2010 07:34 PM

Aww! Kisses are good, but cuddling is great! (No risk of getting slobbered on, close contact, and you have another warm body wrapped around you!) :D

Musicians_Wish 03-29-2010 11:09 PM

My first kiss was last year in the month of october....HATED IT! One thing I hate about kisses is a guy giving tongue. It just creeps me out. Honestly, I have no idea what cuddling is. I've never had my neck nuzzled...and i've never had a boyfriend. So....That's all I have to say on that subject.

Remember how once a time ago I said something that you said changed your opinion about me and you laughed? Well, my friend, this is me returning that favor...that was quite humorous...and really sucky too :P. Hehe

TalkingBackwards 03-30-2010 01:30 AM

First kiss I ever had was in a rather, erm, sexual situation, which may to some seem less romantic, especially since the guy who gave it to me didn't like me at the time. But we ended up going out a while after that, and we've been together for two years, so when I think about it, it feels romantic to me. XP

Kissing in general. Depends on how I'm feeling and whom I'm kissing. If I'm in a bad mood, I generally don't want to kiss, especially not "wet" ones. Even if I'm in a good mood it still varies whether or not I want or give wet or dry ones. I've also been with a guy who was constantly french kissing, and after a while it was like, "Okay, calm down, I want a kiss, not a make-out session." O_o

To me, passionate kissing is like swearing. If you do it aaaaall the time, it loses its meaning very quickly and just starts to bug people.

obiwankendrobi 03-30-2010 03:58 AM

My boyfriend and I didn't kiss until we had been dating for a couple of weeks.
And that was just a little peck.
We were both half-asleep on our way home from seeing a Hal Sparks show.

We don't kiss with tongue unless we're doing the horizontal shuffle.
We're both cuddlers too. The only problem is that we both like being cuddled from behind. He usually wins that argument by keeping himself at the edge of the bed.

My first kiss happened when I was fifteen. We had actually been dating for like a year. Lol. He just kind of slipped some tongue in when giving him a peck before class.
I freaked out and literally ran to my Algebra class.
