"Oh well." Léan happily returned her kiss, tail flicking back and forth. He wasn't concerned about Archie seeing them. He wouldn't be back for a while.
Glory leaned against him a little, not caring that he was still wet. She could always change her clothes later, after all.
Léan seemed to have no problem with their simple contact. His shoulders were down and relaxed, and there was a smile in his eyes.
"You finally look relaxed," Glory commented. "I'm glad, I don't like seeing you so tense all the time."
Léan sighed, then shrugged. "It's in my nature to be tense most of the time. I have my guard up most of the time..." He looked happy, for now.
"You don't right now," Glory pointed out, though she wasn't sure if it was because he was home or because he was next to her.
"That is because I have nothing to worry about, for the moment, and I am with someone I trust." His sentence was short and to-the-point, but Léan had just admitted he completely trusted her.
((Gonna eat--I'll be back.)) |
Glory noticed that he said that he trusted her and grinned, hugging him.
"I'm glad you're at ease, then," she said. She would take what she could get, after all. She was pretty sure neither of them was ready to admit that they had feelings for one another. |
Léan returned the hug, gently. "I am, as well." Actions were easier for him than words were, sometimes. He didn't like to mess with his feelings, or admit them, to anyone at all. He rarely told Archie that he cared, and he was his brother...
Glory sighed and rested her head on his shoulder.
"We should enjoy this time while it lasts," she commented. "Once your brother gets back, he's not going to leave us alone." |
Léan nodded, closing his eyes, and rested his head on her shoulder, in return. "We should. He will not let us go until we tell him, either..."
"I could say that it's your problem, but I won't do that," Glory said, teasing. "I could try to talk to him, if you like."
"Or..." Léan paused. "You could take me up on the beach, and once he gets back, he won't be able to reach us, and we can tell him. He will squeal up a storm, however...that is the only downside."
"I could do that," Glory said. "That is, if you want me to."
"It...would probably be the best idea," Léan decided, nodding. "He should be back in a while...we should keep an eye out for him until then."
"That's fine," Glory said. "We have time, I don't have work until later."
Léan nodded, seeming relieved he didn't have to face the squealing mass that was Archie alone. "All right...thank you." Silently, he quieted down, enjoying their company. He was watching the water intently--the shark could be seen swimming around in the distance, getting used to the water.
Glory sat with him for a while, just enjoying his company. She loved spending time with him, no matter what they were doing.
Léan sat with her for quite a long while. Then, he perked up. "We should head up onto the beach. I see Arcturus."
There was a slender figure beneath the water, just barely visible from the surface. And it was rocketing towards them. |
"I see him," Glory said, following his gaze. Standing up, she picked Léan up and carried him a bit further inland on the beach. "Far enough?"
"Yes, this seems all right...be prepared to bolt inside if he tries crawling up on land to tackle us..." Léan warned, as the figure drew closer.
Archie popped his head up above water once he was close enough, tilting his head curiously at them. "Why're you running from me? Is there something on my face?" |
"I'll be alright," Glory said to Léan. She sat down next to him and leaned against him a bit, turning towards Archie. "We just don't want you jumping on us, that's all," she said to him.
Léan hesitated, then rested his head on her shoulder, not looking at Archie. He knew what was going to come, and he wasn't going to like it.
Archie stared at them, pointedly. It was like his ice blue eyes were trying to burn holes through them. He tilted his head, a wicked grin on his face. His tail swished back and forth. "Oh? What's this?" |
"That would depend on what you think you're seeing," Glory replied.
Archie didn't say anything in response. Instead, he flicked his tail back and forth, waiting for a different response. He was waiting for his moment of glory, so he could squeal and tell them that he told them so...
