"Oh come on, now," Glory said, though she didn't move any closer. "You have no right to be acting like that, this is MY beach."
|
Betelgeuse arched himself up more. This time, it wasn't defensive. It was a clear warning to back up, or he would strike.
|
Glory backed off a little bit, but not by all that much. She thought for a moment, then glanced around for the shark. It wouldn't be too hard to find it, if she had to...
|
Betelgeuse didn't seem to be satisfied with how little she backed off. He was beginning to rouse out of his hiding spot, probably to chase her away. Which meant...he would be heading out in Curry's direction.
|
Glory noticed that he was starting to inch his way out of the cave. Interesting... She was starting to get an idea.
"Come on," she said, "you can't be that scared. You're, what, three times my age? Four?" |
Without warning, Betelgeuse lunged forward, at a rapid speed, out of his hiding place in the cave. He was intending on chasing her, and, if possible, catching her and harming her.
|
Glory immediately turned and took off towards the shore at a dead sprint, doing her best to stay out of reach.
|
Betelgeuse vaulted out of his spot, after her. He looked highly irritated.
Seeing his cue, Curry motioned for her to get out of the water. He paused, then pulled his shirt and pants off--he had old black boxers on. He waded out into the water, making a challenging stance at Betelgeuse. |
Glory went straight towards Curry, darting around behind him and up into the shallow water.
"It's all you now," she said to him. "Try not to drown." |
Curry blocked Betelgeuse's way, looming over him in an aggressive, dominant sort of way.
Betelgeuse didn't like that. He was used to be the most dominant male in close proximity, and he was very aggressive. He reared up out of the water, since Curry was so tall, to attack. Curry wrestled with him for a while, sustaining a few nasty bites to the arms, before he was able to grab Betelgeuse in a bear hug and lug him up onto shore, with him screaming and thrashing around. He was bleeding pretty badly from a deep bite to his left arm. |
Glory made sure not to get in the way, glad she'd remembered to buy more bandages. Carefully, she pulled herself out of the water.
|
Curry wriggled around with Betelgeuse for a moment before getting him in a headlock.
Surprisingly, that seemed to drain the fight out of Betelgeuse. He went semi-still, tail wrapping once around Curry and squeezing him, to try and get him off. Curry quickly headed inside and dropped Betelgeuse into the tank. He immediately sat down where he was, on the floor, and held his injured arm. |
As soon as Glory's tail changed back, she got dressed again and went inside. She went straight to where she kept the medical supplies and grabbed the disinfectant and bandages.
"I keep a lot of these around nowadays," she said. |
Betelgeuse hid at one of the far corners of the tank, looking both furious and petrified. He curled his tail up around himself and then curled his body up, to make himself as small as possible in the corner. It was a very defensive stance...like a cornered snake.
Curry snickered. Léan had rolled over onto the floor and was wheezing, from having been laughing so hard. |
Glory rolled her eyes at them.
"Hold still," she said to Curry. Carefully, she cleaned the bite on his arm and then bandaged it. "I don't think I should be so good at this, but there you go." |
Viktor shuffled over and gave Curry a hug and a kiss on the shoulder. "Better go get your clothes, hun."
"Oh, yeah." Curry stood up and headed back out onto the beach to grab his clothing. Léan was still wheezing. |
Glory shook her head a bit, ginning, and hauled Léan back onto the couch.
"Having fun?" she asked. |
"Ah...that...was...really funny," Léan managed between wheezes. He paused. "We will have to bring fish in to feed him with at least three times a day, though. He won't eat human food."
The glare Betelgeuse was giving his son could melt glaciers. |
"I figured as much," Glory said, sitting next to him and snuggling into his side. She leaned up and gave him a kiss. "I'm glad you're amused, at least."
|
Léan rolled his eyes upon hearing a barely-audible hiss coming from the tank, but he responded to her kiss. "You might want to put the top on that tank. It should have come with a top. Maybe it's still in Viktor's truck."
|
"That sounds like a good idea," Glory agreed. She looked around for the other two; she didn't feel right just snooping around the truck.
|
Viktor returned with Curry a moment later, grinning. "Aaah...nothing like seeing Curry walk around in his boxers..."
Curry snickered. ((Have to go for right now--need to charge my laptop. I might be back on a little later. :D)) |
Glory rolled her eyes.
"Honestly," she said. "I'm not even sure I want to know what took you so long, the shoreline is only a hundred feet away." |
"I needed time to ogle," Viktor huffed...as if he was offended her mind immediately went in that direction. "Hmph."
Curry struck a pose, amusedly. He and Viktor both acted like they were highly medicated, or simply high, all the time. |
"Honestly, you two," Glory said, "I would tell you to get a room, but it would be redundant."
