"You do?" Lleu asked, hopefully. "...Can you remember what happened, who had it? Anything..."
Léan's brow furrowed as he thought. "It was a long, long time ago, I believe...I'm afraid I don't know anything more than that. I don't know who had the rash and mood swings, or how or if it was cured...sorry...maybe it will come to me." |
"I'm sure at least something will come back to you," Glory said, taking Léan's hand gently.
"...I dearly hate to say it, but if it was a long time ago--and I mean...baby days...we should try to weasel the answer out of my father. He would know better than I..." Léan commented, unwillingly.
Lleu watched them for a moment, then turned again. "Come, this way. We can talk while we swim." |
((I think I'm going to turn in early... I'm exhausted somehow))
"I'm sure we can work something out," Glory mused. "I mean, as soon as I figure out a good way to keep my things dry, we can head out towards the Gulf. Maybe that, in exchange for information...?" |
((Okay! Night.))
Léan nodded, chewing his lip worriedly. He really didn't want to do the talking. Every time he had tried to talk to his father in the past, they had ended up fighting. And nearly killing each other. Lleu easily led them to the front gate of Utzi's dome, and turned to smile at them. "Come back any time. And be sure to tell your parents they're welcome to live here." ...Creepy once again. |
Glory blinked, but nodded.
"Alright," she said. She didn't remember saying that they were her parents, but she figured it was just one of those things. |
"...I did it again, didn't I? So sorry. Farewell, and travel safely." Lleu turned and headed back towards his home.
Léan, thoroughly creeped out, shuddered and started on the way home. |
"I want to know how he does that," Glory said as the two headed back towards home. "I'm curious now."
"I'm just creeped out," Léan chuckled, weaving through rock and coral structures. "Maybe a bit curious, but...I'm a private person...and the fact that he knows more than he should frightens me."
"But that's just it," Glory pointed out. "If we knew how he does it, we can figure out a way to keep him out."
"I doubt he even knows how he does it," Léan reminded her, sheepishly. "It seems like an instinct sort of thing...since he doesn't even realize he's doing it most of the time."
"True..." Glory said. "Still, it would be nice to know, someday."
"It would..." Léan said nothing more about the matter on the way home. Once they reached home, Léan settled down in the shallows, frowning again. "It really bothers me that I can't remember where I've seen that rash and those abrupt changes in mood before..."
Glory cuddled with him and gave him a kiss.
"I'm sure you'll remember at least something," she said. She was stalling a little, since she didn't want to head inside yet. She wanted to spend more time with him. |
Léan kissed her cheek in response, contently. "I hope so. All I can remember is that I was very young...before toddler-age," he stated, as he thought. "It's really bothering me."
"I'm sorry I can't help more," Glory apologized. "I don't know what would be able to trigger the memories..." She cuddled into his side, laying her head on his shoulder.
Léan closed his eyes, falling silent. For a few quiet moments, he simply enjoyed her company. He was still highly bothered by the fact that he couldn't remember...but he was letting that go for now.
Glory stayed snuggled next to him, content to be in contact with him. She wasn't looking forward to going back to school, at all.
Léan wasn't looking forward to her leaving, either. But he knew she had to. He just wished he could go with her, even though he knew he couldn't.
"School tomorrow," Glory murmured. She didn't want to let go of him. "I hate how it cuts into our time together..."
"As do I." Léan was hating the idea of being alone all day, even though he was used to being alone all day for so long.
"I'll be home as soon as I can tomorrow," Glory promised. "I'm going to try to be the first one out of the parking lot."
Léan nodded slowly. He wouldn't be happy to have her gone, but she needed to go. He cast a nervous glance towards shore. He could just barely make out one end of the tank.
Glory snuggled closer to him and followed his gaze to the house.
"I can go in and try to talk to him," she offered. |
Léan looked apologetic. "...You can, if you want...I don't want to force you to. I...if we try to talk, we'll end up fighting again. I'm tired of fighting."
