"I take it you're feeling better," Glory commented.
"Very much so," Léan purred, wrapping an arm around her. He seemed to be in a much better mood, as well. His arm had been killing him. He was so glad to have it fixed up. "I have to keep the cast on for at least a month. We heal much more quickly than you do. Salt water seems to have healing properties."
"I'm glad you're feeling better," Glory said. "We can head home whenever you're ready." She was more than ready to go to sleep, and she wanted to snuggle in with him.
Léan seemed to be feeling the same. "Let's go home. I could use a nice, long nap...but if Arcturus and Damon are back, it would be best to take that nap inside, lest we get tackled."
"If I don't get cornered by my parents first," Glory muttered. "I kind of hope that my mom went back to her apartment or something." She cuddled into his side. "Come on, let's just get back home. We can figure out logistics when we get there."
Léan was happy to lead the way out of the office, and back home. It took a while, but he was moving a bit faster than he had been before, now that his arm was all splinted up and felt better. He held the small bag he had close to him.
Glory kept pace with him, even though it was slower than usual. She was tired, and all she really wanted to do was sleep.
When Léan returned to their beach, he moved slowly. He felt better about taking a nap inside as a precaution anyway...just in case. So, he made a break for the shoreline.
Glory saw him heading for the shoreline.
"You're going to make me get out and get dressed, aren't you?" she asked, more teasing than anything. She glanced around, almost expecting his brother to come out of nowhere like usual. |
"If he tackles me, he'll end up breaking more than just four bones," Léan informed her, grimly, as he entered the shallows. "I can't afford it, right now...and, also, he'll be spazzing out because of your change. We're better off safe than sorry."
"I'd be surprised if he realized it's me," Glory said. "He probably missed you, though. I wouldn't blame him for being excited." Pulling herself up onto her favorite rock, she was surprised to see her favorite beach towel folded neatly next to it. "And it looks like someone thought ahead for me..."
Léan seemed to think that was a bad sign, and he looked around, warily. He pulled himself up onto the rocks, though, so that he could see his brother coming from at least a few feet away.
Once Glory was able to stand again, she wrapped the towel around herself, making sure it was secure.
"I should probably go and check inside, see if there's anyone home at the moment..." she said. She almost didn't want to, though. She wasn't sure if her mother would be there or not, and she had a feeling things would be... awkward. |
"Take me with you," Léan pleaded, tilting his head. He didn't want to sit out here and have to deal with his brother if he really was home.
"Are you sure?" Glory asked. "I can always stay out here with you, instead."
"It's probably safer inside," Léan assured her, glancing out over the water and getting an eerie chill for some reason. He didn't want to be tackled.
"Alright," Glory said. "But if he shows up and realizes we're back and wakes us up, you're the one answering him from the window." It was only fair, since he insisted on going inside.
"We can always ignore him," Léan suggested, hopefully, as he slid over onto the sand, now that he was dry. It would be easier to pick him up from there.
"And how well has that worked in the past?" Glory pointed out as she picked him up, being careful of his arm. She took him straight into her room and set him on the bed. "I'll be right back," she said, "I'm just going to see if anyone else is home."
Walking out into the other room, she noticed a note on the table. Glory- Out with Clarissa. Be back after dinner. -Nana It was on a plain piece of paper, and there was a pen on the table as well, most likely what Nana had used to write the note. Turning the note over, Glory wrote a quick response. Nana- Exhausted. Sleeping. -Glory Once she'd written it, she set it back on the table and went into the bathroom to put on comfortable clothes before going back into her room to snuggle in with Léan. |
Léan could snuggle perfectly well, as long as his arm wasn't being pressed or pushed in an uncomfortable manner. He was exhausted, probably just as much as she was, and just wanted to sleep for a while. He was hoping Archie wouldn't disturb them...or anyone else, for that matter.
Glory slipped into the bed next to him and cuddled close. She drifted off to sleep almost immediately once she was comfortable.
Léan waited until she was comfortable and asleep, and then drifted off directly after her, snuggled up against her. His arm didn't hinder his sleep in the least.
Glory slept soundly, exhausted from the trip. She didn't even stir when Nana opened the door a little later than night to check on them. She didn't even start to wake until late the next morning.
Léan woke up a little earlier than her...mostly because he was getting hungry. His stomach made odd, gurgle-grumble noises as he woke up, and he frowned at it before relaxing again and trying desperately to fall back asleep.
Glory woke up snuggled close to him, comfortable.
"Morning," she murmured. "At least, I think it's still morning." |
