"Now you're just pouting," Glory said as she hugged him from behind.
Léan leaned back against her, a smile on his face. "So? I have as much of a right to pout as anyone else here does..."
Glory let him cuddle with her, though she knew he would never actually admit to cuddling.
"You tend to pout a lot, though," she pointed out. |
Cuddling was a word that did not exist in Léan's dictionary. "I am aware of this. I suppose it's simply how I am...I am someone who likes to complain and point things out..."
"They call that pessimism in most places," Glory teased as she rested her head on his shoulder.
"I call it being realistic," Léan retorted, semi-sourly. He was usually totally realistic with what he pointed things out and complained about them...for instance, how he complained constantly about humans.
"I still say it's pessimism," Glory replied stubbornly. "And note you haven't complained once about cuddling with me." Alright, so sometimes it wasn't cuddling. Most times, it was.
"Because there's nothing to complain about." Léan had said that before thinking, but didn't go back on it. He curled up slightly, and attempted to swim away a bit when Eden approached them, awkwardly, in the water and babbled something that sounded like the native language of merpeople.
Glory just waited to see what would happen.
Léan did not like children. He never had. So, when she drew even closer, he simply stayed put, and ignored her, hoping she would get bored and swim off...which she did, right back to Damon.
"You could actually play, you know," Glory murmured to him once Eden left again. "It couldn't be all that bad."
"I...do not play well, especially with children." Léan closed his eyes, leaning against her a bit more. He didn't know what to do, now...Archie seemed much more comfortable than he had been before...
"You say that, but you never told me exactly why," Glory said. "Come on, let's go out to the reef. It'll be quieter out there."
Léan grumbled, but wrapped an arm around her waist and helped her swim out towards the reef--he could tell she was tired, and probably needed to rest a spell.
Glory cuddled a bit closer to him when he wrapped an arm around her waist. She knew his grumbling was really for show.
Léan found a nice, secluded spot near the reef and then settled down with her, wrapping both arms around her in a comforting manner.
Glory snuggled closer to him, making herself comfortable and relaxing. She really was tired, but it was nothing a nap wouldn't fix.
Léan rested his head on top of hers, closing his eyes. "...We should really try some sort of walking lessons in the next few days...simple walking, and then other things...like unsteady surfaces...those awful stairs..."
"You can barely keep yourself standing," Glory pointed out. "Stairs take a lot more effort than just standing. Though I suppose we can try walking across the sand... Sand is about as unsteady as you're likely to encounter."
Léan grumbled, and then frowned. "I'll never learn properly if I don't try. I would rather practice more than anything else...it's worth it..."
"We can work on it this weekend," Glory relented, snuggling closer to him. "When we don't have to work around me being in school."
Léan's tail swished back and forth. He was content with that. "...I wonder if Viktor is finished with your homework yet. Perhaps you should contact him."
"I'll call him a little later," Glory replied. "Right now, I just want to relax with you."
Léan sighed, nodding, and curled up even more, making sure both were as close as possible to each other. "...Perhaps, we should have that dinner Lleu suggested soon...and get everyone involved somehow. Maybe, after it starts to get dark...?"
"Maybe," Glory said. "It gets cold after dark, though. Should we put it off until the weather gets warmer? The middle of winter isn't exactly the ideal time for a picnic."
