"Anything odd. Out of the ordinary. Anything...see, I'm not sure of the symptoms, but...but Lleu is...and he would know..." Léan explained, quietly.

"I'm not sure what out of the ordinary is anymore," Glory pointed out. "Maybe it is best to ask..."

Léan sighed, and then fidgeted. "...I suppose it is...maybe...I should stay here." He was no good with embarrassing situations...and he was fairly sure she would feel more comfortable talking about it if he weren't there.

Glory knew he wasn't good at handling embarrassment, so she nodded, though she was a bit apprehensive.
"I'll be right back, then," she said before she could talk herself out of it. Giving him one more kiss, she went out to the beach. |
Lleu was waiting for her by the shore, his tail hidden beneath the rocks. He attracted attention to himself...it was why he often avoided venturing near beaches, or even heading up to the surface. He was trying not to catch the attention of anyone driving by.

Glory went over and sat down on the rocks, angling herself so that she was between him and anyone on the road.
"I'm guessing you know why I'm out here," she said. "Elsewise, you wouldn't be waiting here in the first place." |
Lleu smiled, eyes gentle. "I do. I'm afraid I'm not going to be frank with you...it's rather difficult for me. So...if you could list off anything that has happened in the past week that is odd? And have you gained weight--the most obvious sign?"

"Just this once, I would love a straight answer," Glory grumbled. "Just this once." She thought about it for a moment. She'd noticed that her jeans were a bit snug, but they'd also just come out of the laundry, so at the time, she hadn't thought anything of it. And she wasn't quite sure what would count as 'odd.'

Lleu frowned slightly, and then smiled again. "...Are you sure you want a direct answer? I can provide that, if you want. You see, I can't use my powers to know for sure...but I can sense mental signals of other and developing lifeforms."
He held out his hand. "Take my hand. If you are indeed expecting, I should be able to detect mental signs of life." |
Glory hesitated for a second before mentally smacking herself for being so afraid. She was a big girl, she would be able to handle it. Reaching out, she took his hand.

Lleu closed his hand around hers, and then closed his eyes, taking the time to memorize her mental signal and check for any others.

Glory waited, trying to keep her trembling and fidgeting to a minimum. She was understandably nervous, almost downright terrified, though she tried not to let it show. She was supposed to be the confident one, darn it.

Lleu took his time. Picking out mental signals, especially ones he had never sensed before, was not a simple task. After a few moments, he opened his eyes, and pulled his hand back.
"Congratulations..." he murmured, simply, as a confirmation. "Indeed, you are expecting. I can tell you more, if you'd like...gender...among other things." |
"Maybe later..." Glory replied faintly. It was a lot to take in. She hadn't really expected to have a child at eighteen... She knew she should go inside and tell Léan, but at the moment, she couldn't quite bring herself to stand up.

Lleu raised his arm, and gently placed a hand on her shoulder. "Perhaps you should go back inside, and talk to Léan," he murmured, softly. "I know it is a lot to take in...but you should go and talk to him, first..."

Glory nodded a bit and managed to stand up. Once she was sure she was steady, she went back inside.

Léan was waiting for her, seated on the couch in the living room. He had a neutral look on his face. He didn't like children, and was afraid he would hurt them...but that didn't mean he wouldn't be happy, either...

Glory went over to the couch and sat down next to him, immediately snuggling into his side.
"Apparently," she said softly, "there's a bundle of joy on the way with our names on it." |
Léan's look was a mixture of fear, concern, and a subtle hint of happiness. An odd expression. He didn't say anything or look at her for a moment. Finally, he sighed, and wrapped his arms around her. "I suppose I had better get over my fear of children soon, then."

"I would think so," Glory replied, cuddling into the embrace. She knew she would have to at least tell her grandmother, soon, if nothing else than to have her set up the homeschooling, but for the moment, she just wanted his comfort.

Léan had a feeling he would need a lot of 'training' in order to feel comfortable around small children. Archie would probably be glad to offer Eden up as a test subject...as long as they were monitored. He held her close, and his eyes suddenly dropped to the floor. "...I am hoping your mother doesn't murder me," he muttered, closing his eyes.

"I hope so, too," Glory replied. "Though she might decide that making you take responsibility is a better punishment." She laid her head on his shoulder, not noticing when one of her hands touched her stomach lightly. "We're probably going to hear it for a while, and not just from her."

"...I am bracing myself already..." Léan assured her, lowering his head. "This is my fault, after all...I let it slip my mind...you had no idea..."

"It's not just your fault," Glory protested. "I could have said no in the first place, but I didn't. It's just as much my fault."

"It's mostly my fault..." Léan assured her, glancing up at the ceiling. "I should not have let something so important slip my mind." He sighed, quietly. "...When should we tell them? Everyone, I mean..."
