Glory snuggled closer to him, not mentioning anything about it. She would tell him later, once he was more comfortable with the idea. It would probably end up being after the parenting classes, if they ever got to them, but she could wait.
Léan began to drift off to sleep in her grip, simply because there was little else to do and he was quite relaxed with her.
Glory started to drift off as well. She snuggled in and dozed off, comfortable.
Léan slept well this time around. He didn't have any nightmares. He didn't end up singing, either. A nice, peaceful sleep was just what he needed.
((Do you want to skip a few days ahead, to the day of their parenting class?)) |
((That works for me.))
Glory held Léan's hand, squeezing it gently. "Everything will be fine," she said softly. Her other hand went and rubed her stomach softly. Her sweater was stretched about as far as it would go, and she definitely needed a couple of new ones. |
Léan was looking quite uncomfortable, in a plain white tank top and some black jeans. Viktor's fashion sense had paid off--the clothes fit nearly perfectly, and looked good on him. His sour face seemed to ruin his good looks at the moment, however.
"I doubt it..." |
"You're not the only one uneasy about everything," Glory pointed out. "This will help, I know it will."
Léan huffed, scowling. He didn't seem all too happy about this. "Fine...fine..." He waited for her to lead him in--he was feeling quite unhappy about this class.
Glory leaned up and gave him a kiss.
"Just try to relax a little?" she asked. "I don't know if we'll be the only ones here, but I doubt we will be." |
Léan nodded slowly, and noted just one other couple heading into the building--a man and a very pregnant woman, both of whom seemed overly cheery.
Glory had seen them too.
"I'm sure we're both more reserved than that," she murmured to him. She tugged on his hand gently. "Come on, we should go in." |
Léan groaned, totally unenthused, and allowed her to pull him towards the building. He was not looking forward to this. Especially if real children were going to be around.
Glory walked with him into the building. She stayed close to him, as much to support him as for herself. She hadn't been lying when she said he wasn't the only nervous one.
Léan made it quite clear that he was feeling awkward. He was as stiff as a board, and his shoulder woucl twitch every once in a while. He glanced around, idly, for the correct room.
Glory found the right room, and opened the door quietly out of habit. She didn't like drawing attention to herself, but if the group was as small as she thought it would be, then it would be inevitable.
Léan was relieved to see that there were only two other couples in the room. The cheery couple from before, and a more reserved couple sitting on the other side of the room.
Glory went and sat down in one of the chairs, one hand on her stomach. She could feel the faint movements again, but she still didn't say anything to Léan. She could tell he was in a bad mood already, and she didn't want to make it worse.
Léan's misery seemed to spike as the female instructor began to talk about children and how important it was to give them the proper care. However, he seemed to find her passing out lifelike baby dolls hilarious, and was grinning the whole time. He had to look away when the woman set one down at their table, and then he snickered silently behind her back.
At least that was amusing to him. |
"Stop it," Glory murmured, nudging him. She couldn't help but grins as well, though. "At least pretend to be paying attention."
Léan's grin widened, but he obeyed, pretending that he was actually caring about the woman's over-the-top speech. He was bored, and therefore, his mind was in other places.
Glory could tell he was bored, and she didn't blame him. The woman running the class really was being over-the-top, and really, Glory knew most of the basic skills like diaper-changing.
"At least try to pay attention," she murmured. |
Léan rolled his eyes. He only actually began to pay attention when she started to actually instruct them, asking each 'parent' to demonstrate basic skills with their 'child.'
He almost lost it and just dropped his head on the table, laughing. He managed to restrain himself, with the biggest grin on his face. |
Glory rolled her eyes.
"Come on, I already know these things," she murmured to him. "You do need to know these things, you know." She leaned over and kissed his cheek. |
Léan snickered. "Okay, fine...then help me out..." He had been listening, but since he had little to no idea of how to care for a child, let alone a human child, he didn't know exactly what to do.
Quietly, Glory explained what to do. She still didn't mention that the children were moving, she would wait until they were home again.
