"Perhaps we should confront Aster about it? Lleu seems, to me, the kind of person who wants to help with everyone else's problems, but not his own..."
Léan seemed relieved that they were approaching home, fast. |
"Maybe we should each talk to one?" Glory suggested. "I'll talk to one, you talk to the other?" She pulled the car into the driveway and killed the engine. The beach was, predictably, empty.
"I can try to talk to Aster...it would probably be better if you were to talk to Lleu. Our tempers will clash, especially if he plans on being defensive. Knowing him, even if he gets angry, he will not hit a female..."
Lleu was a gentleman...Léan knew that much. |
"I'll try to talk to him," Glory replied. "I can't guarantee I'll be able to get him to talk, but I'll try." And she was not above using her 'condition' to get what she wanted, if she needed to.
Léan nodded, as he stepped out of the car. "All right...I suppose I'll just talk to Aster, then..." He sighed, not looking forward to it, and then headed out towards the ocean.
Glory nodded and gave him a kiss.
"Just make sure to keep your temper in check, alright?" she said. She couldn't help but grin a bit. "Usually you're the one saying that to me." |
Léan chuckled, returning her kiss, and then headed out to the beach. "I would guess that Lleu is somewhere in Utzi, since he's been keeping his distance. Perhaps if he's not there, Morty might know where he is..." He began to strip down, so that he could head into the water.
"Alright," Glory said. "I'll check there." She stripped down as well and followed him into the water.
Léan headed off to the left, to see if he could find Aster over in that direction. That was the last place they had seen him...over in that rocky expanse of sea floor.
Glory started to make her way out to Utzi. She was half-expecting to trip over Lleu before she could get there, but she wasn't going to just assume that she would.
As Léan had suspected, Lleu was indeed there...he was milling around near the coral around Utzi, eating some of the nice seaweed he had picked up on his way out to the small reef.
It wasn't hard for Glory to spot him, since he stuck out from the surroundings.
"Hey," she said as she got closer. |
Lleu blinked, and turned around. "Oh. Hello, there..." he greeted, pleasantly. "You want to talk to me about something...?"
"Actually, I was kind of curious why you weren't hanging around anymore," Glory replied. "I kind of got used to you hanging around, and then you vanished on us."
Lleu's face fell slightly. "...Well...I do have duties in Utzi, you know. I can't exactly spend all of my time hanging around your beach..."
As Léan suspected, he was darting around the real issue. |
"I figured that," Glory said, going along with it. "It's just not like you to leave without saying anything. Did something happen?"
"Not really...I have just been neglecting my civil duties as leader of Utzi...I decided it was time to return and take care of the work that had been piling up..." Lleu was still dancing around the subject.
"And you seem to be determined not to actually bring up whatever it is," Glory observed. She'd had enough experience with that with Léan. "I'm not sure what it is, but I know it's there."
Lleu frowned, slightly. "...All right. If there's something specific you want to ask now, go ahead and do it." He seemed resigned to his fate, and was willing to talk about it now.
"What was the real reason you vanished?" Glory asked. "I'll believe that just coming back was part of the reason, but it wasn't the whole reason."
"The new addition to your pack unnerves me. I know him from somewhere before...but for the life of me, I can't place the identity to a place..." Lleu murmured, pointedly.
"We're keeping an eye on him," Glory replied. "I'm not entirely sure it's a good idea to keep him around, yet."
"I'm not sure if it's him giving me these odd feelings, or something connected to him...so, don't boot him out just yet. He seems to be a decent person..." Lleu amended, reasonably.
"We'll see," Glory replied. She rubbed her stomach a little as the twins started moving again. They had been quiet on the way there, but they were getting active again.
Lleu nodded, and then shifted a bit. "I'll do a bit of research and see what I can dig up on Aster and his past...surely there will be someone, somewhere, that will know what he wanted. Until then, keep an eye on him..."
