Clarissa went and put a hand on Léan's shoulder.
"Let her do it," she said softly. "Walking around is good for her, it'll make things easier." |
Léan grumbled and unwillingly sat back down on the bed. It was good that he had someone there to help control what he did.

Once Glory had packed a bag, she set it by the door. That way, it was ready when it got to the point that they had to leave. She was alright for now, so it wasn't like the had to leave immediately.

Léan was twitching incessantly. He just couldn't keep himself still. This was not going to go very well for him if his attitude did not change--he was worrying himself to death.

Glory laid back in the hospital bed, exhausted. The labor had been long and taxing, so for the moment, resting sounded nice. She was still anxious, though. The doctors were supposed to bring the twins back in any moment, and she wanted to see them. |
Léan, a worry-wart to the very end, had been up in arms the whole time, without stopping. He had not relaxed just yet. He seemed to find the hospital a foreboding and unhappy place..

Clarissa put a hand on his shoulder and made him sit down for what felt like the hundredth time.
"You do realize that it's over, right?" she pointed out. "They're probably going to call you in in a moment or so." |
Léan scowled at her, for what also felt like the hundreth time. "I don't like it here," he said, simply, as an excuse. "I've decided I hate your hospitals as much as I hate the ones back home..."

"I offered to take you back home," Clarissa pointed out. "More than once."

"I leave, and she will end up throwing a fit at some point. I don't need that..." Léan replied, dryly. "So, no, of course I refused..."

"Point," Clarissa conceeded. She would have said something else, but one of the nurses came out into the waiting room and motioned for them. "I think you're allowed to go in, now."

Léan stood up quickly, then promptly sank back down into his seat. "Dizzy..." he complained, scowling. It took him another few seconds to actually be able to stand up properly.

"Don't stand up so quickly, then," Clarissa said. She stayed in her seat. She could wait to see her grandchildren. The two new parents should have time alone first.
Glory sat up a bit more when the nurse came back in with two bundles. One bundle was wrapped in blue, the other in pink. The nurse handed them to Glory carefully, one at a time, and Glory took them. The twins seemed so tiny and fragile... She held them close to her and waited for Léan to come in. |
Léan was still not over his issues. Not by a long shot. So, when he stepped into the room, directly after the nurse left, he shuffled in and stood by the door, pointedly keeping his distance.
He was still in hyper-drive and hadn't settled down yet. He didn't want to get closer until he managed to settle down. |
Glory noticed he was keeping his distance.
"You can at least come and look at them, you know," she said softly. "Just looking won't hurt." |
Léan twitched, then shuffled forward just a bit more. He was at least a foot away, still--a good distance for him. He could move back at any point if he felt things were unsafe. But, he was close enough to properly see, now.

Glory held the twins so he could see them. The twins kept on sleeping in her arms.
"You know, we never decided on a female name," she said. "Was there a name that you liked?" |
Léan immediately seemed uncomfortable. He was the most uncomfortable around infants. "...I can't think of any," he replied, simply. There weren't many female names he liked, at all.

"Then I want to name her Autumn," Glory said. "Autumn and Orion." Carefully, she moved her feet so he could sit at the end of the bed if he wanted to. "Come and sit with us? You don't have to be within reach."

"All right..." Léan did sit down at the edge of the bed, but he still didn't want to be within arm's length. He was way too wound up for his own liking. Even that much seemed a little too close for him.

"Really, it's okay," Glory murmured to him. "Try to calm down. I won't make you try holding one of them yet." But he would have to be brave enough to hold one of them soon...

"I think I'm going to be on-edge for at least the rest of the day," Léan informed her, quite honestly. He couldn't sit still--he was twitching and shuffling his feet around.

"Well, you can't say you don't have time to get used to them," Glory teased gently. "We're taking them home with us tomorrow, maybe the day after."

Léan shrugged, twitching again. He was still very much on-edge. He probably wouldn't seem friendly or the least bit eager until he cooled down.

"Why don't you go ask my mother to take you home?" Glory suggested gently. "It' be easier for you to calm down there... And I'm sure your brother walill want to hear about your children."
