"Oh, no." Léan made a face at the mention of Archie. "Anything but that. I don't want him hanging off of me. I'm really not in the mood for it..."

"And you're going to be in a worse mood the long you stay here," Glory pointed out. "At least at home, you can find some place that's quiet, away from everyone else."

Léan shook his head, rubbing at his eyes slightly. "I will be worse if I go home. Especially if Arcturus is there waiting for me. I suspect he will be..."

Glory sighed. "Alright," she said. "Come here. If you're tired, you can at least share the pillows with me." She was exhausted, and would probably be passing out soon herself. The nurse would come back in and take the twins to the nursery or something so she could get some sleep before she needed to feed them. |
Léan seemed very uncomfortable with that idea. But he took careful note of the weariness in her expression, and didn't want to make things harder for her. So, he shifted forward and curled up next to her in bed.

Glory leaned against him a little, but didn't make any move to hand him one of the twins. She knew he'd done about all he could for now.
"Try to relax," she murmured. "I think one of the nurses will be in in a moment to take Autumn and Orion to the nursery." |
Léan rested his head on her shoulder, closing his eyes. Since the twins were quiet and he now couldn't see them, he visibly relaxed. It was so hard for him to accept that he wouldn't harm them...

About a minute later, one of the nurses came in to twke the twins to the nursery to Glory could get some sleep. Once they were gone, she snuggled closer to Léan.
"They've got your blue eyes, you know," she murmured softly to him. "Both of them." |
Léan made a face. He seemed to find it weird imagining his eyes on anyone but his brother and his uncle, whom he'd only met a few times in his life. He stated so to her, still making an odd face.
He had mentioned his uncle just a few times...maybe once or twice. Betelgeuse and Honeydew were both dark-haired, with golden eyes. Léan and Archie got their looks from their only uncle. |
Glory grinned and gave him a kiss.
"Well, they both have your eyes, so you may want to get used to it," she teased gently. "Though I'm not sure if their dark hair came from my side of the family, or yours." |
"Depends on how dark it is." Léan, due to his twitchy and unstable state, hadn't paid much attention to their looks. He knew Glory had semi-dark hair...Betelgeuse and Honeydew both had pitch-black hair.

"Next time I have them here, I'll take a closer look," Glory promised. She snuggled close to him and sighed. She still ached from the birth, and she was slowly losing the battle against sleep, so she decided to just give in and drift off against him.

It was much more difficult for Léan to relax enough to want to sleep. It took him at least another half-hour before he finally settled down and abruptly fell asleep.

Glory slept for a little while longer, until the nurse came in again with the twins. This time, though, Glory knew it was time to feed them. She carefully took them one at a time. She wasn't quite sure what to do, at first, but she got the hang of it pretty quickly.

Léan, thankfully, had remained asleep for this. In his sleep, he'd half-turned away from her and was snoring softly, his eyelids occasionally twitching as he slept.

Once she was done feeding the twins, Glory held them close to her. They didn't fall asleep immediately, and were looking around. While she knew most newborns had blue eyes that changed to their permanent color later, Glory got the feeling that the twins' eyes would stay blue.

Léan stirred slightly, his eyes opening up slowly. Indeed, the three of them had the exact same eyes. It was proof that there probably was not going to be a change in eye color.

Glory leaned over carefully and gave him a kiss on the cheek.
"Your son looks like you," she murmured softly in his ear. |
"Oh, no," Léan said, simply. He sounded teasing. "Not another one. I have an identical twin who irritates me--there should not be another Léandre look-alike in this world."

"Then be grateful your son isn't blonde," Glory teased back. She nuzzled him briefly. "I think you should try to hold him. It'll be good for you."

Léan frowned, and then he looked away. "I don't like the thought of that..." he warned, softly. "I'm not good with children. I'll hurt him..."

"You won't," Glory replied firmly. "I'll be right here next to you. It'll be good for you to hold one of your children." Besides, her arms were starting to get tired, so him holding one of the twins would help her, too.

Léan stuck his arms out slightly in front of him, looking nervous. "If you're so confident, then show me how." He honestly didn't know how to hold a child...he steered away from children.

Glory handed him Orion and softly explained how to hold the newborn, demonstrating with Autumn. Autumn fussed a little, being seperated from her brother, but quickly quieted again.

Orion did not seem to want to settle. He suddenly got a grumpy look on his face, and kicked his legs around. Léan was definitely not good at holding children. Orion kept slipping from his arms, and of course, Léan would start to panic and would accidentally jostle him around a bit.
