Glory accepted one of the fish from Léan and began to nibble on it as well.
Léan ate his fish much more quickly than Eden and Glory did. In fact, he was almost completely done by the time Eden was halfway done with her fish.
"In a hurry?" Glory teased him a bit. She was also about half-done, but she was picking around a few bits, as well, so she would probably be done soon.
"I was hungry," Léan replied, looking amused. "Very hungry." He laid back down by her side, wrapping his tail around himself so he could use it as a pillow.
"Well, why don't you hold one of the twins for a couple minutes?" Glory suggested. "They're both awake, now, so you don't have to worry about waking them up, and it's only for a minute or two."
Léan frowned. "...I don't know if they want to be held," he informed her, lifting his head a little bit. Plus he was still tired, and his arms were a little shaky.
"Autumn doesn't seem to mind being held," Glory pointed out. "She even wanted to cuddle earlier, so I just held her for a while and she was perfectly fine with it."
Léan sighed. "Fine...but I don't want to pick her up," he compromised, looking unenthusiastic again. He didn't want to hurt her.
"Alright," Glory said. She could compromise that way. He would have to learn how to pick up a baby soon, though. Setting down her fish, she reached over and gently picked up Autumn. The infant seemed a bit surprised to be picked up, but she settled down well enough. Glory handed her carefully to Léan.
Léan held her awkwardly and didn't move a muscle. He occupied himself by staring outside of the cave and searching idly for signs of danger approaching.
"Just relax," Glory encouraged. "You'll both be more comfortable if you relax and let her cuddle."
Léan relaxed his posture, but he didn't relax altogether. That was still beyond him...it would take time to erase that behavior...
Autumn cuddled a bit closer once she wasn't being held so tightly, and relaxed against him.
Léan relaxed a little more, glancing around the cave absently. He was still not moving, for fear that one of his movements would end up harming her in some way.
"See, you're doing fine," Glory said. Autumn seemed perfectly calm and content in her father's arms, and she curled up comfortably.
Léan still seemed nervous, but he visibly relaxed at her comment, glancing at her unsurely. He was still awkward. "...I'm still not going to move..."
"I think she's enjoying the cuddle-time with her dad," Glory said. Indeed, the infant was snuggled close to him and was relaxed.
Léan sighed, looking thoroughly embarrassed, and stared out of the cave once more. He could see a small school of fish passing by, but nothing threatening-looking.
Glory glanced over at Eden and Orion, making sure they were both alright and not getting into any kind of trouble. She wasn't really expecting them to, but still.
Eden was awake, but she was relaxing and playing with the seaweed her bed was made out of and wasn't bothering Orion, who was still asleep.
Reaching over, Glory carefully picked up Orion and held him close, making sure not to wake him up.
Orion stirred fitfully in his sleep, but he did not wake up. A good sign--he was probably a deep sleeper.
Glory held him and rocked him a little, letting him snuggle as he liked. She would welcome Eden if the child wanted to cuddle, as well.
Eden seemed to be amusing herself with the seaweed and had no desire to be held. She was probably going to be a very independent child.
Glory kept an eye on her, but let her amuse herself.
