Léan stretched his legs out slightly and then slid out of bed, careful not to jostle her. He was going to search for something to eat in the kitchen and go out hunting if he had to.

Glory rolled over into the warm spot he left and snuggled deeper into the bed. She only stirred slightly when he got out of bed, and was asleep again within moments.

Léan managed to find some leftover food in the form of fish he'd brought into the house just a day or so ago. He preferred raw fish, so he didn't even bother attempting to cook any of it--he just ate it raw.

Glory was still asleep, but Autumn was awake in the next room. She began fussing slightly, wanting some attention while her brother was asleep.

Léan internally groaned through the mouthful of food he had. He did not want to have to be the one who calmed her down. He took what was left of the fish with him into the nursery--he had to think a while to remember where it was. He simply stood above her crib, seeming clueless--he didn't know what she wanted.

Autumn reached up towards him when she saw him. She wanted attention, and she didn't care whether it came from her mother or her father.

Léan shoved the last bit of fish in his mouth and then picked her up, figuring that was what she wanted. He just held her, staring off into space. He still felt awkward and helpless, not knowing what to do in a situation like this other than hold her. That was not a good sign...

Autumn calmed down quickly once he picked her up. She cuddled into his arms and grabbed little fistfuls of his shirt, glad to be getting attention.

Léan leaned against the wall, focusing a little too much on keeping his arms still--focusing too much made his arms shaky and unstable. He tried too hard, sometimes.

Autumn whimpered a little when he held her too tightly. She didn't like being squeezed like that, and it would probably end up making her cry if he didn't start being more gentle.

Léan relaxed his arms at once. He seemed like he felt very upset...perhaps because he had hurt her? Hurting children was one of his biggest fears, and it was one of the reasons he was so upset when he learned that she was pregnant.

Autumn quieted down immediately. Once he wasn't holding her so tightly, she was comfortable and snuggled into his arms more. Her grip on his shirt loosened gradually as she fell asleep against him.

Léan gingerly set her down in her crib and headed out towards the living room, feeling bored and not wanting to go back to sleep. He would try to work the television on his own and find something to watch.

Glory woke up when she heard the TV turning on. Stretching a little, she got up and went into the other room.
"Hey," she said when she saw him. |
"Hello." Seeing Léan trying to fiddle with the television had to be a funny sight. He was already frustrated because he wasn't sure how to work it, and he couldn't find anything interesting to watch.

Glory went over to him and gave him a kiss.
"Do you want some help with that?" she asked him, gently taking the remote from him. |
"Please?" Léan sounded both frustrated and amused by his dilemma. He wanted to watch television quite badly, just to see what was on.

He somehow had the TV in auxiliary mode, so Glory switched it back to the proper channel and then reset the remote from 'TV' to 'Cable.'
"That should work a little better for you," she said, handing the remote back to him. |
Léan blinked as he took the remote back and tried to flip through channels once more. He sighed in relief when he found that she'd fixed whatever the problem had been. "That's better."

Glory gave him another kiss and sat down next to him.
"I take it the children are both still asleep," she said. |
Léan nodded absently, resting his head on her shoulder and closing his eyes. He appeared to be in a good mood, even though he was oddly quiet.

Glory noticed he was being strangely quiet.
"Is something wrong?" she asked softly. She didn't move away from him, enjoying the contact. |
"No. Not particularly..." Léan glanced outside, towards the ocean. Something just felt off to him, for some reason. He wasn't sure what it was.

Glory saw him glance out the window. "You can go if you like," she said. "Nothing's stopping you." |
((I'm all caught up, now. :3 I finally know what's wrong with me, and now I'm stuck in bed all day with my laptop having nothing else to do other than reply.))
Léan shook his head, looking away from the window. He obviously missed the ocean and spending so much time in it, especially away from shore. At heart he was still a merman. He would never fully adapt to human life. |
