Léan was also unsure of what he wanted to say. He felt an uncomfortable silence coming on, but...he just couldn't think of anything intelligent to say. It was peculiar...

((...that was a cheap scene change, but meh.)) Quickly, Glory crammed the last of her clothes into her normal-sized suitcase. She had to dig out all of her shorts and tanks again, but she didn't mind. Hawaii was worth it. Making sure she had her extra-moisturizing shampoo and conditioner for her hair, she put them into a Ziploc bag and put them in with her other toiletries. Then she carried her suitcase out to her car and put it into her back seat. The giant suitcase was already in her trunk, lined with blankets and a couple of pillows and waiting to go. Once her things were in the car, she went down to the beach. |
((It works for me. :3 ))
Léan was eagerly waiting for her down by the beach. He made sure to dry himself off on the rocks before hopping down onto the sand, so it wouldn't stick to him for the trip. His tail was swishing back and forth excitedly. Today, Archie and Damon, who kept himself low in the water but had his head sticking up out of it, were here to see him off. As expected, both of them were terrified at the notion of traveling like humans, so they didn't want to go. |
"If I could back my car down the sand, I would, but it has absolutely no traction on sand," Glory commented. "At least, not sand this fine."
|
"I am aware of that." Léan swatted Archie away when he started to cling to him. "Off, you."
Archie snickered, nuzzling his shoulder. "Have fuuuun." |
"Aw, how sweet," Glory cooed, teasing. Early morning or not, she was excited about the trip, so she wasn't anywhere near half-asleep. "Alright, we've got to go if we're going to make it."
|
Léan wriggled away from his brother, contently. "Save me from the clinging nature of my evil twin..." he joked, amused. He seemed ready to leave, now.
Archie frowned. "You're the evil twin, you big ol' grump. Bye-bye, guys!" |
Rolling her eyes, she picked Léan up off the sand.
"I'll do my best not to bump the suitcase around too much," she said as she brought him to the car. |
"Don't worry about me--I will be fine," Léan assured her, nodding slowly. "I should be comfortable enough." He still seemed a tad concerned, however, about possibly being discovered. He curled up in her arms, the end of his tail still swishing back and forth slightly.
|
"Alright," Glory replied as she set him gently in the suitcase. "Just stay as quiet as you can for the trip and I'll try to get you as close to a window on the plane as possible."
|
Léan perked up at this, curling up comfortably with the blankets and pillows inside the suitcase. "That...would be wonderful, thank you." He'd been looking forward to seeing the world from above.
|
"I'll do my best," Glory said. Carefully, she closed the suitcase and then closed the trunk of her car. Getting into the driver's seat, she pulled out of the driveway and headed to where she was supposed to meet everyone else.
|
Léan peered out of the one part of the suitcase that wasn't fully zipped up, curiously. He also rested his head on the pillows, comfortable. This was something he'd been looking forward to.
|
Glory pulled into the parking lot and looked around. There were fewer people than she'd imagined, which was definitely not a bad thing. She looked around for someone she knew.
|
Viktor was waiting near the jet, which was starting to load passengers. He was leaning against the stairs leading up to the door. He wasn't with Selena or her friends, but he wasn't alone. The fingers of his right hand were entwined with the fingers on the hand of the attractive club bouncer, Curry.
Selena was busy unloading her luggage from her car, a few spots down. |
Getting out of her car, Glory popped the trunk and then dragged the small suitcase with her things out of the backseat, setting it on the ground. Then she turned to the big suitcase.
"Now," she murmured to herself, "how am I going to haul this thing out of the trunk...?" |
Léan listened to her, curling back up so that no one would see him. "...Is there anyone strong around, who could help you lift it?" His voice was soft. There was no one around the car, so he thought it was safe.
|
"Maybe..." Glory said, looking around. When she saw Viktor and Curry, she hesitated a moment before going over to them.
"Hey," she said, "think one of you can help me? One of my suitcases is heavy, and I don't want it dropped." |
Viktor, ever the lazy one, glanced at his companion...who was, indeed, almost seven feet tall.
Curry snorted, shoving his shoulder a bit, before releasing Viktor's hand and shrugging away from the stairs. "Such an un-chivalrous cur you are, Viktor." He glanced at her. "I will help you." |
"Thank you so much," Glory said as she led him to her car. "Be careful with it? I don't want it thrown around or dropped or anything like that. I'm weird about my stuff that way." Hopefully, that was a good enough excuse as to why she would stay close to the suitcase.
|
"I'll be careful." Hearing those words come from a wild-looking behemoth like Curry made them sound a little untruthful. After all, he looked like he would unintentionally manhandle a kitten with those giant hands of his if he picked it up.
Surprisingly, however, he lifted the suitcase out of her car and set it on the ground, gently, on its wheels. He popped the handle out and held it out to her. "Here. That should work." |
"Thanks," Glory replied as she took the handle. Grabbing her other suitcase, she wheeled them both to the plane, making sure the big suitcase didn't jostle too much. Once she was on the plane, she made sure to find a spot near both a window and a seat for her suitcases. It wasn't easy, but she found one. Once she did, she tucked her small suitcase down in the corner and then propped the big one up against the wall.
|
Léan quickly, but quietly, shuffled to the open flap of the suitcase, eyes shining, and peered out of the window. He couldn't help his tail starting to swish back and forth excitedly, but he grabbed at it and held the end of it to his chest to keep it from moving. His face was just barely visible from the flap of the suitcase, but there was no one else in the jet yet.
|
"You'll know when we're off the ground," Glory murmured as she sat down in her seat. "Trust me, you'll know." Digging around in her purse, she looked for her iPod to pass the time.
|
"I will?"
Once again, Léan seemed clueless about the human world. He looked puzzled, but he glanced back out of the window, anyway. "Huh...I suppose I will see, then..." He immediately shut up when two strangers boarded the plane, staying, as Selena had said, near the front of it. |
