because why is the ps3 backwards compatible for the ps1 games and not ps2? it makes no sense.

Actually, the first PS3s that came out are compatible for both PS1 and PS2 games. Sony just claims that they lose more money by including that feature in the recent models released. I say it's BS. But I have one of the first PS3s to come out so I can play all my PS games and PS2 games.

It is and it also costs extra to have that feature. But I read last year that Sony is supposed to be releasing PS2 games digitally like the PS1 games.
