Maria only shook her head. "I'm stuck in CAD." she replied. It was going to be an even longer school year with most of her classes not having a single one of her friends in it.
|
"Ah...I see," Shadow said sympathetically. "Try not to die of boredom...it would be most unfortunate for those around you."
|
Maria laughed some. "at least I would be the first case of someone dying from boredom." she shook her head some before walking off to class.
|
Shadow also walked off to class, content with this one, at least. He liked Philosophy. He was not looking forward to his next class. Wellness Fitness...Gym...whatever you wanted to call it. It was pointless. And boring. And had never convinced him that exercising was a good thing.
|
Maria sat down in her seat for class just as the bell had rang. The teacher basically introduced himself, went over rules, and then they had free time while a USB drive was passed around for the students to but certain templates on the computers. Maria was instantly bored out of her mind, and she couldn't seem to find anything fun to do on the internet. She looked at her schedule to see that she had Gym next..She shook her head and remembered that a lot of seniors would be in gym because for some reason it was required to take their senior year, never mind the fact it was required to graduate.
|
Shadow enjoyed himself in Philosophy. The teacher, for once, was not boring.
Once the bell rang, he gathered up his things and headed for the gymnasium, which was a little ways down the hallway. He didn't look too pleased with the prospect of running around and...basically accomplishing nothing but BO. |
((Lol, I love the last bit of your post. DeiGoesBoom is coming over tonight btw, all hail her stealing my computer while I enjoy running her over with the mini-roadroller XD))
Maria sighed as the bell rang. The gym was on the other side of the school and she slowly dragged herself there. She never saw the point of gym class, except maybe lowering young girl's self esteem. Once she got to the gym, she noticed Shadow. "Hey" she said with a smile. |
((XD I had gym today. D:...And oh noes! Not the mini-roadroller again!))
"Hello," Shadow greeted, smiling. "Do you have gym now? If so, we are in the same class. I...dislike gym. It is pointless." |
((Lol yes! If I can find the darn thing >.> I think Dei hid it last time she was over. Though since I fell asleep and missed her call I don't know if she is coming over anymore O.O))
Maria nodded. "Yeah I do. Basically the whole senior class does. It's kind of a tradition at this school for all seniors to take gym. It's required to graduate and they don't put you in the class until you're a senior." She sighed. |
((Oh my. D: ))
"Hm. In my old school, it was mandatory every single year..." Shadow mused, reaching the locker room. "Excuse me--I have to change. I'll see you in class." He headed into the locker room to change. |
Maria nodded and walked into the girl's locker room. She couldn't imagine having gym every single year of high school. Finding a locker in the corner of the room, she stored her stuff inside and then changed into her gym clothes, a black t-shirt with matching black shorts and tennis shoes. She then locked the locker and went out to the gym. She looked around and noticed that Lanina was in this class as well, how fun.
|
Shadow changed into semi-long black shorts and a tight-fitting black tank top. He strolled out into the gymnasium when prepared, looking around.
|
Lanina looked over at Maria and gave her a smirk before she caught Shadow out of the corner of her eye. She knew now that gym may be the most fun ever. She then began to do the warm-up laps.
Maria ignored the smirk for the most part. She then walked over to Shadow a bit and smiled some. "Lanina is in this class, I'm sure you've noticed though." |
Shadow began the warm-up laps, running with Maria. "I have noticed...hopefully, she will be too busy with the workload of the class to even bother with any sort of plotting..."
|
Maria carefully kept up with Shadow's pace. "we can only hope. Who knows though..." Maria had a feeling that she wouldn't be too busy to do anything.
|
"True...I suppose we must remain vigilant," Shadow amended, keeping his pace acceptable. He wasn't too worried about himself, but he would not be pleased if Lanina did something to harm Maria in any way.
|
((DeiGoesBoom isn't coming over OTL.))
Maria nodded and then looked around the gym as they ran. She noticed Lanina 'limping' over to the teacher, saying that she had stepped wrong and twisted her ankle. The teacher nodded and let her sit down for the time being. |
((Aw. :( That sucks.))
"Hm. That looks like a good idea, actually," Shadow quipped to Maria, as the practice laps ended. "But, I would be way too obvious. Almost anything is better than having to participate in...in this awful class." |
Maria shook her head, "True. This class is awful, but we have to pass it. If you sit out every day then the teacher isn't going to pass you." She looked over at Lanina.
Lanina smirked a bit as she thought about what to do. The first day was always laps and then dodge ball, and she knew that the teacher was a firm believer in Stinger Balls, small balls made out of tough rubber with ridges on them. They always left marks on kids. (( X_X I hate dodge ball)) |
((I feel your pain--so do I. D: ))
Shadow was never really an athletic person, but with his being a vampire--not that they knew anything about that--he could dodge pretty easily. So, he wasn't concerned when the teacher started rambling on about dodgeball. |
Maria cringed at the thought of dodge ball. She always got hit in the face or something when she played it in middle school. Pretty soon the class was split up into two teams. She frowned when she noticed that Shadow had been put on the opposite team. Her fear only got worse when she saw Lanina smirking on the side lines.
|
When the game began, Shadow simply walked or jogged around his side of the gym, dodging everything that came at him. He never returned fire.
|
Maria had picked up one of the bigger dodge balls and was using it to block anything that came at her, though it was obvious that she was only making the effort to look like she was participating.
Lanina patiently waited for one of the Stringer balls to end up near her. Once one was close enough, she reached over and grabbed it. Now the only thing to do was to decide whether or not to throw it at Shadow or at Maria. |
Shadow had been keeping his eye on her all period. He did not trust her, after all, and would be irritated if she did something unsavory.
|
Lanina glanced at Shadow before she looked right at Maria and threw the Stinger ball straight at her face. She knew that if it hit Maria, that it would probably hit her in the nose hard enough to not only leave a mark, but also possibly cause it to bleed. Lanina had a feeling that the way to annoy Shadow was to go after Maria, so that was exactly what she did.
