Lets find out. |
blueblackrose's Character Nakia Age: Appears to be 23 (true age unknown) Race: Angel Element: Earth Power/skill: Nature/creation & healing abilities Appearance: http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...ime_angel2.png Personality: Nakia may be shy at first, but that’s because she doesn’t easily trust others. Most of the time she is quiet unless she really feels like talking or there is something she needs to say. She is kind, gentle and giving…well when she’s not getting into things that is. Don’t let appearances fool you though. She is quite mischievous and curious about things. Bio: Nakia is a known troublemaker in Heaven. Some of the other angels wonder if she really is an angel at all. She tries not to let this bother her, but it really hurts her to know what they think. She tries to keep out of mischief, but she can’t help the fact that she is curious and mischievous by nature. It was the way God made her. Growing wary of the boring day to day in Heaven she has decided to go to Earth. In her opinion it was time to see if the Earth was really worth saving. Other: Nakia’s true intentions for wanting to decide the fate of Earth are not quite clear. She thinks that she’s wants to do this because it needs to be done before another war between Heaven and Hell breaks out, but maybe it has more to do with her wanting to prove her worth or to just escape. |
Name: Ryota Adams
Age: 21 Sex: Male Race: Demon Appearance: Ryota Personality: He has a stubborn streak and a very short temper sometimes. He's talkative, but not too often and only with subjects he likes. Hates to be contained for too long thus why he took up the assignment to Earth. Other: He has fire and lightning abilities, though he's stronger with fire. Doesn't use them much though since he's supposed to act 'human.' A young man wearing a fedora hat covering part of his blond hair and golden eyes was making his way along the sidewalk along with many other people, yet he seemed to have a slightly menacing air around him, thus why a couple of people stepped around him. Ryota looked around the streets as he walked to the corner store, eyes scoping the view. Since he was running out of food, he thought he should actually go and buy something before he starved. He felt that today was a good day to walk for some reason, so he took his coat to protect himself from the cold winds of the city and was off down the crowded side walk. This also gave him the chance to observe the lives of the people here. Honestly, he felt that they were all not worth saving and deserved to be bumped off. While there were some who did deserve to live, there were about twenty more to that one human. The odds weren't in their favor. At least in his book. There was crime and poverty around, since the city, and most of the world was recovering from their last war. So far though, New York was doing a very good job to get ahead in life and leave their worries behind. Sometimes to the extreme. The women seemed to be getting more daring these days, their clothes more revealing and their attitudes becoming more independent. And there was also the fact that the humans were intent on destroying each other. Sadly, it hadn't succeeded and here he was now. Trying to figure out if the place was worth saving. Also to get away from his 'home.' With a slight sigh he glanced down to his coat pocket and made sure he still had his money. He'd almost lost it one time due to a pick-pocket who though they'd be slick to try and steal from him. Now he was a tad more wary with his money. |
The young lady walked along the bustling sidewalk. She kept her coat wrapped tightly around her. As Nakia walked her kept her head down, looking up form time to time to make sure she wasn’t going to run into someone. The wind was cold and she wanted to keep as much of it out of her face as possible. Her blue gray eyes observed those she past because it was her assignment to decided if these people where worth saving. She believed that deep down most people were nice and deserved to be saved. There were some that didn’t though, but they didn’t out number those who did. At least not in her book.
Yes there was crime and there was poverty, but the world was still recovering from the last war. Bigger cities like New York were almost back on their feet and getting ahead again. At least the humans attempts to kill each other hadn’t worked out. It would be sad to see the end of humanity, one of Gods creations. As she reached the street corner she clutched tightly to her purse. It wasn’t safe for a lady her age to be out along, but she didn’t have a choice. It was just three days ago that man had stone her purse and ran off with it. Luckily she didn’t have much money in it at the time. Taking one last look around she entered the store, mostly just to get out of the cold. |
Ryota made a mental note on what to get as he put his hat down a bit more, to cover his face some more. Though he would have normally been fine with the cold and hardly be affected, it would seem odd to see someone walking in this sort of weather without a coat and short sleeves. It'd attract too much attention. Milk, bread, water, eggs, soup. Counting off the items, he felt he was missing something. "What is it?" he wondered outloud to himself, thinking on what he'd be missing. But, he just couldn't place it. Frowning a little, he headed to the door of the store, not really watching where he stepped since he was too deep in thought, thus colliding with a young woman who, to him came out of nowhere.
Though it was his own fault, he couldn't help but frown some more and place the blame on her. She shouldn't have been standing right in front of the door way, others needed to get in. Looking down at her about to snap something at her, he took in her appearance and he raised an eyebrow. Usually girls like her were with some sort of escort, unless she was one of the loose type of girls. She didn't look it though. Maybe just in here to get food as well. With a small little smirk he backed up a bit. No need to make a scene" S'cuse me doll, but you really shouldn't idle in the doorway. Others need to come in." he said easily enough, sort of as an apology, sort of not. He was being truthful. She was in the way and wasn't fast enough. |
Nakia looked up at the man who bumped into her. She nodded, “Sorry sir.” As she moved out of his way she couldn’t help, but to notice the strong negative aura surrounding him. One of the lost perhaps. She tried not to stare at him for too long, just long enough to take his looks in. “I don’t know what I was thinking.” Looking down again she questioned why she took this assignment. No matter what she was always shy when first meeting someone new. Remembering about the pit pockets she’s have to check to make sure she still had her money before getting any food.
Once she moved out of the way, he nodded his head and made his way inside, "No harm done." He noticed that she too stared a bit and just shrugged it off, he'd done the same not a few seconds ago. Looking around the store, he glanced down at the girl and shook his head. "It's fine. Just keep your head out of the clouds." he offered, since maybe she had just been daydreaming or just in deep thought. His attention wandered from the girl back to the task at hand, buying food. No need to make idle chat with someone he had never met. There were more pressing matters to attend to. Giving a short nod in a good-bye, Ryota made his way to the aisles to get what he needed.
She nodded before looking away. What am I thinking. There’s not need to get distracted. Going down an aisle she looked around to make sure no one was looking. She checked to make sure her money was still there. It was so she’d be able to get what she had come for. Smiling she went about her shopping. After all there was no need for her to engage in conversation with someone she didn’t know. Though she just couldn’t shake the feeling that she needed to talk to this man.
Ryota passed by a couple of aisles easily enough, getting what he needed as he passed the products. As his other hand filled up with the things, he thought that maybe he should have gotten a basket. Damn that girl. Because of her, he had forgotten to get it. Thinking about it, he had sensed a pure air about her. It made him slightly curious about her. He had also noticed from the corner of his eye that she had checked her wallet. It almost made him snort, did she think he was going to steal her money? Well, maybe if he was utterly bored. But shaking his head a little he just went to get a basket for the food, making it easier for him.
Nakia had some food in her arm since she hadn’t thought about getting a basket. As she was reaching to get a can from one of the upper shelves a man came up behind her and grabbed her butt causing her to jump slightly. She dropped the few items she had in her arm. She whirled around with her hand raised, ready to smack the man, but she thought better of it. Seeing her hand raised the man grabbed her wrist. “Now what do you think you’re doing girly,” the man spat at her, grinning. “Nothing sir.” Why did trouble always seem to find her she wondered, not really paying attention to the guy. “I didn’t think so,” he said tightening his grip on her wrist. She tried to pull away from him, “let go of me.”
Ryota's head tilted a little when he heard a couple of things drop nearby. Normally, he'd let this side since it wasn't his job to help people pick up their fallen groceries, but this seemed a little different. Almost sighing he quietly walked to the aisle that he'd heard the noise from. Seeing that some guy was holding a girl, the same one he'd ran into, he raised an eyebrow. Now he was all for the whole violence thing, but to do it to someone who didn't seem to deserve it and in a public place. Well, it didn't sit well with him. Before he could change his mind, he started to quickly walk to the two. "Is there a problem you have with my girl?" he asked lowly as he came up right behind the man, gripping his shoulder. He looked slightly pissed off to play the part of the angry boyfriend. Hopefully, the girl would play along.
The man looked at Ryota. “Yes there is. Dollie here tried to slap me.” He didn’t let go of Nakia’s wrist. “Well sir you shouldn’t have touched me.” Looking at Ryota she was thankful that he had come to her aid. “Now please let go of me and we can forget all about this.” The man let go of her wrist. “Don‘t let it happen again. Next time you might not get off so easy.” The man wasn’t happy that Ryota showed up. He had thought the girl was out alone. Grunting the man brushed past Ryota and disappeared. “Thank you dear,” Nakia said, trying to play her part in case the man was still nearby.
She felt awful about all of this. She almost hit a man event though she’s an angel and now here she was being saved by a stranger with a dark aura. What a day this is going to be she thought. Without another word she knelt down and picked up the items she had dropped and her purse. She wondered what the man thought of her. He probably thought she was some type of idiot. |
Ryota almost rolled his eyes at the man, almost saying that he would've done worse than slap if he'd seen it, but let him walk away. Turning to the girl he nodded. "It's fine doll, just don't stray too far. Least another one comes to try and take advantage." he said before helping her pick up the items. Once he was sure the man had left he shook his head a little. It was people like him that made this job so much easier for him. The place was full of them. "Next time, come with someone else." Sometimes what little he had of a conscious might get him in some unwanted dilemma.
Nakia froze slightly when Ryota suggested that she have someone go with her. She looked down. “Umm, thank you sir for your concern and advice. I’ll try to remember that next time.” Feeling slightly stupid, she just wanted to finish her shopping and get home. It would be wise to take his advice, but I’m alone. No one came with me on this assignment. Looking at the man again she smiled, but it didn‘t reach her eyes. Her eye still showed her worry and sadness. “I’m sorry to cause you so much trouble. I’ll be on my way,” she said quickly and pushed past him. Disappearing into an empty aisle she sighed and wondered what she was going to do if things continued like this. It was becoming a common occurrence every time she went somewhere. Men with dark evil auras would touch her or try to grab her.
"Later." He watched her leave and mentally shook his head. The girl probably might not heed his words but what counted was he said it. Though he wondered why she had that look in her eyes. No matter. It wasn't any of his concern, he had done his 'civil service' for the month. So why was there a small nagging voice in the back of his mind? Almost growling in annoyance he pushed it to the back of his mind, continuing with his shopping. He made sure he still had his wallet before going to the counter to pay for his things. By this time tomorrow, the girl might be forgotten. She had served as a point though, how people are just not deserving of living anymore. Those types of men, well, they deserved to be in hell 'doing time'. The good people could go and live in heaven for all he cared. It didn't matter to him.
She wandered a bit in the store as she tried to remember the few things she had come for. As she grabbed the last item she noticed the man that had helped her was still in the store. Maybe I could ask him to escort me home. No, he’s a stranger and I’ve already caused him enough trouble. What am I thinking. Shaking her head slightly she got in line behind the man. She needed to remember to stay strong and focused. There was work to be done. Nothing thinking about it before she decided to check her purse to make sure she still had the money she brought with her. Looking in it her face turned pale. The man who grabbed her he had been after her money all along. Sighing heavily she slowly went to put the items she had gotten back.
Ryota noticed that the girl had gotten in line behind him, and for the moment, he seemed not to notice her. Though when she went to check something in her purse, and he saw that she turned pale. He turned his head back a little as she started to walk away. It seemed like her money was gone. Probably the man from earlier had taken it. He did think it a bit careless, but it happened. And the man had used a pretty good mean of getting the money. Noticing that she didn't have too many items, he figured that he could probably lend her the money. But that was, of course if she needed it. Almost cursing himself for having a strangely nice conscious right now, he sighed before looking at the girl right before she left the line. "Something wrong?" he asked casually.
She stopped and looked at the man. "Oh, umm...not really sir. It just seems that I have forgotten something at home." She was embarrassed and didn’t want to admit that her money had been stolen. Looking down she tried to decide what to do. She didn’t want to trouble him anymore then she had already. “I shouldn’t be so careless.”
He just smirked a little and nodded. "Happens all the time. Did you forget your money? If you'd like, I'll lend you some, and you can pay me back when you can." he offered. Either that, or just go ahead and buy the food and force her to take it. He was positive though, that they might not really see each other again. He had decided that today was the 'Good Deed for the Week' day.
"That is very kind of you sir. I will pay you back, I promise." She was still embarrassed about this turn of events. Looking down she mumbled something that sounded like “you have a good heart,” but it wasn’t really loud enough for one to tell what she truly said. Closing her eyes she made up her mind. This man had been so kind to her she’d treat him to lunch at her home if he was willing that way she could also pay him back the money. Giving a nod she looked up at him. “I want to make sure that I pay you back. So if you’re willing would you escort me home. I can pay you back then and if you’d like I’ll fix you some lunch. It‘s the least I can do for your help.”
Ryota almost scoffed at what he thought she had muttered, but kept it in. He had no real heart. Maybe his human form did, and that's what was affecting him. But his true self wasn't so kind. He shook his head, almost as if the very thing of having her cook for him for a small favor offended him. "No need for such things, truly. It is my pleasure to help you out. But I will escort you to make sure you reach home safely." he said, with a small smile. If only his 'family' could see him now. Well, his true motives for this would be kept a secret. He held his basket out for her to put her things in there as well. So they could be on their way. "I don't want to bother or intrude upon your home more than you may be comfortable with."
She placed her items in his basket. "Alright and I thank you." She looked at him wondering if she was wrong about his aura or maybe she was right in guess he was one of the lost. No matter. If she could she'd help him see the light. That was part of her job while she was here on Earth. She frowned slightly thinking about her "family". Most of them would be making fun of her if they knew or had seen what happened. "You wouldn't be bothering me." She knew it would be best if he didn't come into her home though. Otherwise he would find out she was totally alone and that could lead to unwanted questions.
Ryota nodded again, accepting her thanks and went back in line once she put the items in his basket. Since they were only the second people in line, the didn't have to wait much for him to pay. He took out his wallet and payed the lady at the counter, who had made sure to put the girl's items in a separate bag. "Well, tell you what. Next time something happens, and I happen to do something for you, then I'll accept the invitation." he said with a small smirk. He wasn't sure if she was just too trusting or what, but it wouldn't be advisable for her to let a complete stranger into her home and cook for him. He didn't voice this though. Holding all the bags in his arms, he nodded at her then at the door. "Lead the way, doll." he said with a, what seemed to others, charming smile.
"Ok then." She doubted it would happen even then. "This way." She turned after reaching the sidewalk and pointed in the direction of her home. Walking beside him she wondered. "My place is a few blocks away. I hope it's not too out of your way." She kept focused on where they were heading.
He nodded, keeping up with her easily enough. "It's along the way, don't worry." he said simply. His home was a bit farther along the way, so this wouldn't cause too much trouble for him. Besides, he liked walking. Glancing at her, he wondered how much it would take to corrupt her soul. She seemed so pure, it seemed that anything would do it. And that's why he seemed slightly interested in the girl. That, and it was always fun to mess with the humans. Especially the pure ones. He'd turned them so easily against each other, it was more like a sport to him now.
