Dagon enterd the council chambers. He took his seat at the round table. It was time for the weekly meeting.
Akee gave a bow to Dagon as she entered the chamber for the meeting. Her mind was on others things as she took her seat at the table. It still hurt not to see her old friend Lilah there with her. She was glad that Lilah had come back, but she knew that not everyone felt the same way. Akee closed her eyes as she thought about the different things that must be talked about dismissing the thoughts of Lilah.
Airith smiled as she sat in one of the tree branches above the village. It was a beautiful day with the warm suns rays dancing about the trees. She rose a brow as she saw the elders gathering for their meeting. She wandered what they talked about in the chamber that was guarded better than any other building. She jumped from the tree as she went to explore the village to see who was about at this time. She knew better than to try and hear what would be talked about in the chamber. The guards where deadly when it came to the elders. |
Lilah opened the doors and windows to the small shop. She didn't really spend too much time in the shop. Lilah just mainly slept upstairs in her room. Then left and went out. For now though she was cleaning. Wiping the dust off of each and every little spot. uncovering book along with a few magical items. Everyone else in the shop still seemed to either be asleep or just have not left their homes. Lilah watch as a few of the Elders headed towards the Main building for their meetings. Though she showed little interest.
Sophie Skipped over to were the elders where having there meeting, and went inside. she knew that she wasn't actually allowed in the chamber in the actual meting but she had to be there just in case they needed something done.
Kavil walked along the halls on her way to the council meeting. She had been out in the forest again taking care of a wounded weeping willow that had been almost cut down by some foolish young-lings. Sighing she came around the corner and saw Sophie heading into the council's meeting room. "Sophie!" She yelled walking over to her, her Boots thudding on the ground.
"Yes Kavil?" she asked, turning around.
"Members of the council, we are gatherd here to give updates on the state of Avalon. Akee, would you like to go first?" Dagon asked.
"Your to stay by my side, you foolish girl, you know your not supposed to go in the meeting hall." She sat patting the girls cheek then rushing into the chamber just as Dagon began speaking. "Sorry I'm late everyone, Sophie was helping me with something in the forest." She said waving at everyone as she walked to her seat, airy as every, her face a calm serene look of grace.
"sorry Kavil"sophie said as she walked past her. Sophie stayed outside the chamber doors with the guards as, according to them, she was too childish to hear what happened in the meetings.
"Nice of you to join us Kavil. Please be sure to remember that sophie is not allowed in the main chamber or the great hall"
Akee stud and open her eyes as she smiled at Kavil then to where Sophie stud outside the room. Her voice was full of cheer as she laughed slightly. "It is quite alright dear. It is good to see you all I must say." She looked a little serous as she began her report. "On the resent scouts we have concluded that the beast of the mountains are at bay at this time. There appears to be no threats at this time by beast. Though mother nature seems to be against us. The trees that are used for houses are starting to die without the use of magic or a healer the trees will fall and become a hazard to the village. The river near the village is looking lower than normal. I would like to ask the council for the ok to ask help from the witch Lilah to help with these problems and the other growing problems around the village. Besides that the annual festival is coming up. That means things around here are going to get crazy and we must all be on our guard. As for that I have nothing else." She took her seat as she looked confident. She knew that mentioning the witch Liath was frowned upon but she was one of the few that could help. Akee was confident that Liath was not the monster that some felt she may be.
Airith stopped as she saw Liath cleaning her shop's windows. She walked over as she smiled. "Hello Liath how are you today? Do you need any help cleaning? I was suppose to be with Akee today but as you know the meeting is today. I have nothing to do because of that." |
"I agree. You are allowed to meet with Lilah to fix the problems. We need the forest, and cannot have it turning against us. As for the beast of the mountains, I do not want to take any risks. It must be destroyed. It's hunger for flesh will never be satisfied"
Sophie sat outside the chamber, eating balls of spagetti "nom nom nom"
Lilah turned as she heard the young voice. Most people in the village were younger than Lilah now. The village itself was older though. Everyone seemed to have just passed on. Still, when Lilah told other demon's and such her age they did not seem threatened. Then again.. she was over one thousand in Elf years. Which just went up in a normal lifespan of a human. Elf dates did get confusing... Lilah gave Airith a small smile. While keeping her head held high. "It is alright. Everything is almost done." She assured the small Neko girl. A few candles in the room lit up also. Brightening everything even more. "I know.. I was watching them enter towards the building today." She told Airith slowly.
Akee nodded in agreement. "I will gather a group and take care of the beast if you wish." She looked to Dagon as she waited to see what else he had to say. Of all the people and places she had known in her life he was the strangest but her favorite. She would never say it to him or anyone else for that matter. Her job was to protect and serve not to pick favorites among the residents.
Airith smiled as she laughed and shook her head. "You can play the strange dark lady but your not. You miss being in the council it is easy to see. You know that Akee has never been the same since you left what is the story there or is there even a story? Did the other members server with you?" Her ears laid flat against her head as she felt strange asking the questions knowing they where personal. |
"I will lead the the hunting party to kill the beast. We shall return with it's head as part of the festival" Dagon had respect for all of the council members, but Akee in particual. She was a brave warrior and he admired that.
Lilah nodded. "Please do not tell me what I miss Dear Airith" She simply said smoothly. The Matriarch took a soft seat on a stool the fortune teller used most of the time for his readings. Crossing her legs. "The Elders I once knew are long gone and replaced. Alee is the only one left. She is a dear friend..." Lilah told Airith. Seemly to almost be in a daze. "Personal matters... yes. There is a story. But one even Alee does not know. I will tell it in time."
The morning trickled through the tops of the trees onto the large hammock that was tied between them. Naima and Ion were laying there soaking up it warmth. It seems that the meeting of the Elders has started hissed Ion uncurling his body and poking his head out over the side of the hammock. "Really?" Naima hissed back her tongue slightly forked. Sitting up she moved her legs over the side of and looked down, as the hammock was a couple of feet above er house it was an easy jump down."Well let's go and walk about time." Grabbing him she wrapped Ion around her body and then lightly jumped down, her feet making a dull thunk as they landed on the roof of her house. Jumping off the roof Naima began her walk to the village to see if she was needed. |
Akee nodded as she sat there. "When would you like to start the hunt? We will need time to get the other together. And I would like time to talk to Liath to see if she will help."
Airith nodded as she looked to the chamber where the elders where. " I understand I didn't mean to offend you. I know that if Akee trust you then you are a good person and you have a good reason. I do wander about the leader Dagon though. He is so strange and his ways.....I am not sure about him." She looked back to Liath as she gave her a warm smile. " I hope you have a good day and I promise not to aggravate you anymore today." |
"I will lead the party tonight. It will take all night to reach te beast's lair. We will attack at dawn, when the beast is asleep"
Kavil jumped up and pounded her fist on the table. "I want to take this kill... These beasts are hurting the trees and the nature of our forest..." She said bowing her head and placing her fist on her heart. "I ask for you to bestow the honor of killing this beast." She said looking up at Dagon. "I can leave immediately, I prefer to fight while it is alive... More of a game..." she said smiling wickedly.
"Do not be foolish. If you go now, it will be dark when you get there. And night is when the beast hunts. You must think about this. Use strategy, not dashing in wildly"
Akee kept her posture as she kept quit. She sat and waited to see how this would play out. To go into battle without planing would only lead to death witch she knew very well. Her eyes shifted to the door as she saw the small rays of lights seeping under the door. She wished she could be outside there where so many things to fix. She worried about the trees. Akee shifted her eyes as she stared at Kavil. Her voice was clam as she spoke to her. "Would it not be wise to help the trees here first? Do you not care for them what of the people in the village who would be in danger if the dear trees die? Have you no heart for them?"
"Akee has a point Kavil. Stay and help the tree's first, then I shall come with you to kill the beast"
