*doesn't play but has wondered how to play, though has no desire to really play* XD, well, I watched some friends, and my step brother's play the game before. Though I didn't know how they played it. I used to duel though -3-

I'm surrounded by men who play that game. Its alright I generally don't like it because they always seem to not want to teach the noobies so i'm stuck with a deck i can't play because they are all being stupid D<

I used to play all the time. But lately, everyone I would play with tend to be busy when Im not, and vice versa. The life of the working class. Never easy to get people together to play a few games anymore really.

But as for my deck, well I have 4 main ones that very rarely get changed. I have 3 tribal decks, and then an Mirrodin Block deck. My tribals are: Elf, Dragon, and Zombie.

As for where I play: Calgary, Alberta.

But that hasnt happened for a while. Im going to have to get some of my friends together to play again for old times sake. Though, its been a while, so I doubt many of them remember where they put their cards, or if they even still have them. I know one of my friends had 2 tribal decks that gave my Elves a run for their money, Angels and Beasts. Damned Angels just flew overtop of me, while I sent wave after wave of Taunting Elf's that were buffed up like crazy to take down any and all of their defences. The Beasts, even for creatures that cost a lot to play, they can come out VERY fast when someone has 4 Extraplanar Lens buffing up their mana production.

UrbanMtnDew 04-30-2010 02:26 AM

@draciolus lol i know bout some killer beast decks lol my friends have a couple of them and i be damned if i didnt get my ward sliver into play fast enough lol. best protection is choosing thier main colour lol

Draciolus 04-30-2010 03:04 AM

Sliver decks dont get a chance against my Elves. If I find out there is even one person using Slivers, I dont care who else is in the game, the Slivers die first. They are pretty much the only deck that can easily match my Elves. Only because of the Ward Sliver. Stupid thing prevents my Taunting Elf's from murdering their defences. Though, I eventually punch through, and slap them upside the head with a Forest.

Two words, Squirrel Deck.

It's not my main deck, but god is it fun.

Have you seen the new cards out? The set is outrageous, despite being a bit broken.

Captain Saru 04-30-2010 03:29 AM

My boyfriend has been trying to get me to play more, and he even built me a Red/White/Blue EDH Wall deck, but I just haven't been able to get into it. He and his friends get together every Thursday in the campus center at my college and play for a few hours.

UrbanMtnDew 04-30-2010 03:39 AM

my friend has a deck he calls the small creature deck he runs squirrels and saporlings...another nice card is i belive its called root sliver this sliver and all other slivers can not be countered

Draciolus 04-30-2010 04:11 AM

I still say nothing beat pummeling someone with a Forest that is also an Elf. Ambush Commander makes it so all your Forests count as 1/1 Elves. But by the time I put that into play, Ive got probably 15-20 Elves out already(some tokens), and then I also have all 4 of my Coat of Arms(20 Elves each get +19/+19). Out of all my friends, Im the only one that has those. One of my friends(back when I only had 2) offered me $30 for both of them. Its a $10 card. I denied him. Its what made my Elves big enough for one of them to stop a 10/10 Beast.

UrbanMtnDew 04-30-2010 04:16 AM

not to mention i have harmonic sliver:all slivers have "When this creature comes into play, destroy target artifact or enchantment"

flavor txt"Since the last sliver arrived, even our mightiest relics splinter into shards as soon as we bring them against the hive."-Llanach, Skyshroud ranger

Draciolus 04-30-2010 04:28 AM

That would be useless against my Mirrodin deck.
Darksteel Froge: All artifacts you control are indestructable. Add that to Mycosynth Ltice: All cards are artifacts in addition to their other types.

Couple those with:

Gemini Engine: When it attacks, create a token with the EXACT same str/toughness, then destroy the copy at end of combat.
Panoptic Mirror: Imprinted Sorcery/Instant that is played at begining of turn(which happens to be Beacon of Tomorrows(infinite turns in this form).

Gemini Engine would have all my equipment on it, which I can give I think an addition 40-50 attack to it.

UrbanMtnDew 04-30-2010 04:32 AM

very very nice im one card shy of the sliver queen combo

Draciolus 04-30-2010 04:39 AM

My friends kept trying to keep me from having my Wellwishers when they used their Sliver decks. But give me a Clone on a Soul Foundry I can get hundreds of them. especially using Seedborn Muses. Then with my hundreds of thousands of elves(I keep loosing count at 150), I'll have at LEAST 30 Timberwatch, send one measly Taunting, then back it up with a +XXX/+XXX 1/1 Forest. Ive litterally b**** slapped someone with a forest that had about 450 Life. He didnt survive. And my friends were shocked a Forest could do that so easily.

Edit: Oh, and cant forget the X/X (Insert Colour Here) (Insert Creature Type) Tokens I can make with Riptide Replicator. But with my Wirewood Channeler and Seekers of Skybreak, I can litterally make HUGE creatures from those.

FallenFaery 04-30-2010 09:41 AM

I actually used to play Magic! Gosh it's been a couple years since I played. That game is fun, but some people have irritating decks/play style.
I always played red or green. :3 Had an elf deck I loved <3 I wanted to put together a faery deck.

UrbanMtnDew 04-30-2010 12:55 PM

that is cool to hear its a sad thing you dont see very many female players much....i have a friend who ran a pretty mean elf deck and the decks i dis like the most are control decks its hard to put your 2 cents in when they are in full swing lol

Vercingetorix 04-30-2010 05:44 PM

I used to be really into Magic. But when they killed Yawgmoth back in '01 I kinda died inside and lost interest. Also that and it seemed to suck plot-wise after that.

I used forest decks, or swamp/plains decks. If I could only remember the cards I had in them. ^^'
Or find them..
Because the ones I had back then are probably worth money now. owo'

Draciolus 04-30-2010 07:38 PM

I just looked through my binder of rares, and noticecd that the rarest ones I have, are Elspeth, Knight Errant(Planeswalker Card) and Kamahl, Pit Fighter Holographic. Though, I do have Barrin, Master Wizard and Rayne, Academy Chancellor. Both are in prefect condition, and VERY old.

Now I really want to get together with people to play again. I miss the good ol' times of people trying to make an alliance, but nobody will since they know said person will only backstab them.

UrbanMtnDew 04-30-2010 10:33 PM

oh so very true im actually going to a booster draft here in a couple of hours be back later and post the results lol im keeping my fingers crossed.

FallenFaery 05-01-2010 08:16 AM

Yeah there was a game store I used to hang out at, they held tournaments for Magic, Pokemon... etc. They also held D&D games there, which I also used to play ^^. But it was also just to hang out, play games of course, and just have a good time :3 It's a really awesome place, they sell drinks and snacks ^.^ Tons of events go on there, like lock ins and such. People spend hours on end there. I don't live in that state/city anymore so yeah... Plus my ex was the one who taught me how to play, he kept all the cards. =/ If you're ever in Massachusetts in the Worcester area, the place is called Rising Phoenix Games. (RPG lol) It's actually owned and run by a woman.

UrbanMtnDew 05-01-2010 04:20 PM

that is really cool to hear my girl wants to open a bakery and i want to have a gaming store next to it lol $$ is what i see lol that way there is a place that is close by and fairly cheap cause if i know most gamers they dont have the most money in thier pocket to spend on food and drinks as they do on their games lol

but as for the booster draft last night (didnt get out of there till after 1 am central time) I placed 14th out of 18 :( not the best but i left with 3 rares from ROE; 2Xumbra mystic....and 1 Near-death experience

UrbanMtnDew 05-02-2010 02:18 PM

well looks like this thread is starting to die out

Draciolus 05-02-2010 09:18 PM

Yeah, guess not very many people are into this sort of thing. Though, for me, Ive been busy getting ready for my work.

UrbanMtnDew 05-03-2010 04:25 PM
