When you're hungry and your stomache growls.
O.k. So, I'm hungry, and my stomache just growled really loud and frightnened the cat that was sitting on my lap. It made me think. So here's a question for anyone - Has your stomache ever growled extremely loud? And if so, did it occur with an awkward moment, shock or disturb anyone, or anything else of the sort? Any stories to tell about a time when you were hungry? o.k. Now I'm getting hungrier just sitting here. I'm heading to the fridge lol.

Yay math test right before lunch. <3
The girl behind me giggled, but I was like owwwww. Only got a B on that one because I started to give up at the end. |
hehehe. Sometimes being hungry makes you do that. :XD
|
Omg! Yeah!
I was at my high school orientation and this lady was sitting right beside me.. and my stomach growls SO loud that the lady turns to stare at me I was [email protected][email protected]' -Kaff, turns and looks away- xD |
Yeah.. That's happened to me more than once. It's usually loud too. -___-
I remember one time, I had no money at all and my friend offered to pay for lunch for both of us, but he did this just the other day and I get rides with him and was feeling pretty bad about taking advantage of him and his stuffed pockets. Needless to say, I went on a rant about how not hungry I was (despite being hungry, but w/e, I don't have a lot of spare money, so I can't afford to eat out or buy snacks..) and even if he ate in front of me I'd be so okay with that because there's no way I could possibly eat anything because of how stuffed I was. And then my stomach growled, really loudly, and continuously and my stomach started eating itself too. The only thing I could do was smile awkwardly and try and talk as loud as possible over my stomach. XD |
For some reason, my stomach decides to growl the loudest when its quiet, during very important tests in school, which causes everyone in the room to look at me and laugh xD
|
Hehehe. These are pretty funny. I'm looking forward to some more stories and such. :XD

My stomach always growls really loud at random moments even when I'm not hungry. O.o
Like once I was at my friends house and my stomach started making funny noises in the middle of the night and I accidentally woke her up. xD |
My stomach usually growls the loudest right after I've just eaten a pretty decent sized meal. I just glare at my stomach and shout that I just fed it XD

My stomach usually growls when I trying to fall asleep. Even after I fed it...its like a bottomless pit late at night.
|
Last time this happened to me, was during a rather gory and noisy film night with some of my uni buddies. The only silent part of the film and my stomach decides to shout. Otherwise, it's fairly well behaved.

I've had my stomach growl so loudly it startled me. It sounded like a monster!
But the weirdest stomach noise I've ever heard was my brother's. We were sitting in the sunroom watching a movie, and all of a sudden, I heard what I thought was police sirens. So I'm looking around for lights, and when I don't see any, I ask my brother if he heard it. He then proceeds to tell me it was his belly. I don't understand how a belly can sound like a police chase. XD |
My stomach growls all the time! Even before I've eaten. My mom's does too, to the extent that sometimes it sounds like they're talking to each other. -__-
But I think it's cus I eat a lot. |
My stomach's learned to STFU. XDD It'll growl very quietly during class, to keep people from turning to me and saying "are you okay!?" and act like I'm a starving kid. I mean.....me being in college and only seriously eating a meal every few days probably counts as starving in some sense...but whatever. Of course, now my body's taken up hiccuping when I'm particularly hungry. If I ignore the quiet grumbles of my stomach, I get hiccups. And somehow, this only happens in class. When I'm alone, or with my family, my stomach goes right back to an occasional obnoxious roar.
...and when this happens, I do the stupid thing: tell it it doesn't get any food until it shuts up. And, of course, by the time my stomach's finally quieted, I no longer feel any pressing need to eat. So then I have to make a mental note to eat a granola bar or grab a handful of craisins when I get home so that I've at least had SOMETHING to eat. XD |
You always post the most interesting topics. XD I tend to snack, and I try to snack on something healthy. Water is also great to drink when you're hungry because it helps reduce hunger. I go through this problem almost every night. |
Oh my gosh, HappyStarr、you poor thing. xDD
But, I've had that experience... and why did it always seem like I was the only one with a growling stomach? Oh man, back in high school, every single day, at the EXACT same time, my stomach would have it's private conversations. Out loud of course. It happened so much, I think no one paid much attention to it anymore, but I was always embarrassed. Dang, no body else's was that loud. >_> It doesn't do it too much anymore... Maybe I eat to much...? But have you guys noticed that the sound of the growl changes depending on what you eat before it? I mean, like if it's some liquid or something, my stomach whines, not growls. I've even heard what sounds like a drain down there. o_o I was laying down and drinking some water. When I sat up, I heard and felt it filtering down. No joke. |
Hotdogs!

I had two incidents occur where my stomach would growl really loud. The first incident was in my English 102 class. It was quite and class was divided into four groups. I didn't eat breakfast that morning so yeah...You know I was pretty hungry. I was trying to write information down for my group when my stomach just growled loudly. The guy sitting in front of me just stares at me, laughs, and then says "Don't worry, i'm the same as you. I had nothing to eat this morning."
The second incident happened every tuesdays and thursdays in my Chemistry 112 class. Even though i ate a decent amount of food to hold me over until I got home, my stomach would still growl like a dinosaur. Yet, here's the strange thing. I would sit at the desk and take notes as my professor would lecture. Every time he stops talking my stomach would go "rrrrrrrrrrr!" really loudly. The girl next to me would chuckle and I would sit there feeling so embarrassed. So I began to clutch at my sides and grab at my stomach, but that didn't go over too well. When there was a lot of noise my stomach would remain quiet, but when there was silence....only then did it want to be the center of attention. lol |
lol well one time my stomache growled so loud my four year old nephew screamed because he thought it was a monster

Yep, when I would bike to school I would bike off the meager breakfast I had eaten and be hungry by second preiod. What would always happen though is that the first fifteen minutes of 2nd period we'd have ssr (Susstained silent reading), and guess who's stomach would be growling for thos fifteen minutes?
Yeah, that was some fun times, I would be trying to read and then my stomach would growl loudly and all I could do was slide down my chair and pretend it wasn't me. xD |
For some reason, mine always growls the loudest when I'm laying in bed with my boyfriend. He hasn't said anything, but it's so loud sometimes that he sits up and looks at me to make sure I haven't suddenly transformed into a grue or something
|
Wow... Well, usually when my stomache growls when I'm in bed, is when I just wake up after a nights sleep. :XD
