Riker smiled and carefully niffed the air as he stepped outside. No slayers weer close enough to see, but he could smell them in the air. They were in the city. And searching. Riker turned around and pulled her down the alley. He stopped at a small cart of fruits and bought nearly the hole stand. He handed the bag of food to her. "Will you hold this? You can get on my back if its too heavy." He offered.

Riker smiled and nodded. "Right. Vampire." He remembered. Sometimes he completely forgot that he was a vampire slayer and she was a vampire, and just got lost in being with her. He pulled her out of the alley at the other side and caught the smell of another slayer. Immediately he pulled her back into the alley and frowned, cursing under his breath.

Riker pressed Kitami to the wall and spoke to her in a serious voice. "Do not go anywhere. Do no move from this spot. Do not speak to anyone." He said. "I will be back in five minutes. Five minutes, okay? If I'm not back in five minutes...run." He sighed.

Riker gave her a look of impatience. "Tell me that you understand and will run if I don't come back" He said, wanting to be one hundred percent positive before he left.

Riker smiled sadly at her and kissed her passionately before lightly kissing her forehead and running off down the main street. He knew he would attract the slayer with his fast running and the scent of Kitami dragging along with him. As he ran, he silently counted down the amount of time in his head. He smirked as he began to hear the quiet footfalls and stopped suddenly, and rounded a corner. When He came to a dead end in the alley way, he smirked and waited as the footfalls came for him again. To his utter shock, he knew the slayer that showed his face. "Brandon?!" He whispered, frozen in shock. "Riker." Brandon acknowledged him. "Long time to see." Riker took a step forward, still keeping track of the time for Kitami. Riker noticed that Brandon had pulled out his sword and took a step back. "Brandon, that is no toy. I was the one who taught you how to use it...You wouldn't weild a sword against your best friend!?" Brandon pulled on a pained expression and shook his head vigorously. "No...I would never weild a sword against a friend. Only enemies." Then he darted forward and struck at Riker. Riker, not expecting this, was too slow to dodge and was jabbed in his right shoulder. He rolled to the left crying out in pain and pulling the sword he kept tucked in his boot. "You are being mis-led, my friend." He started talking, circling him as he in turn circled Riker. "The vampires...They are not what you are taught they are..." Brandon laughed bitterly at that. "Yes, and I can shit rainbows and butterflies." He sneered. "I speak only the truth to you." Riker smirked, continuously counting for Kitami. "I'll believe that when I see it!" He growled and took another jab. This time, Riker was ready for it. He caught the sword jabbed at him with his bare hand and even though it made his hand bleed, he pulled Brandon close to him. "That can be arranged..." He said and began to take the back way to Kitami, glad he could make it to her in time as he held Brandon under his arm the entire time, not giving him a chance to escape or attack.

Riker rounded the alley's corner to where Kitami was and could sense that Brandon smelled that she was a vampire. He let go of Brandon and shoved him to a wall, pointing his head in Kitami's pained expression. "Look." Riker said, pointing to Kitami. "A vampire that feels. For me." Then he banged Brandon's head hard into the concrete wall, tuning out his cries of pain. Riker ran up to Kitami and pulled her into a big hug. "Are you alright?" Then he backed away, seeing that he got some of his blood on her new shirt when he hugged her. "Oops. Sorry." He smiled shyly, glad to see she was okay. Still, the entire time, he kept the corner of his eye, watching Brandon the entire time.

Riker's eyes widened in surprise at her words and when she cried into his chest, he smiled and held her close. "I'm fine. I wasn't hurt badly. We can leave together now and finally end all of this pointless killing." He said quietly, stroking her hair, trying to calm her down. His eyes darted to Brandon who was on the floor still, watching Kitami with wide eyes and an ajar mouth. "She has...pure feelings..." He whispered under his breath. "Genuin...feelings..."

Riker kissed the top of her head and continued to try and lull her. "Shh, its okay. Shh, shh." He felt special to know that someone would care if he ever was gone, and then looked at Brandon, not having to say a word. Brandon stood up and with wobbly knees, he managed to make his way to the alley intersection. As a good be present, He dropped all of his weapons and fled the scene.

Riker happily returned the kiss with as much feeling she was giving him. When he pulled back, he smiled at her lovingly. "I'm okay now." He smiled. "I took care of it, didn't I?" He asked, gesturing to Brandon's abandoned weapons. "I did what I said I would do. Which is protect you."

Riker smiled back at her, loving how sweet and innocent she could get when she wanted to. "Now, we skip town." He said with a determined look chiseled into his facial expression. He grabbed her hand and made sure she had the bag of food before beginning to walk slowly away from the many weapons with blood on them. "And we need to get me out of this shirt when we get the chance." He added a bit quieter.

Riker rolled his sleeves up to cover most of the bloody smell and pulled into a car rental shop. He went to the counter and smiled. "We could desperately use a fast car." He smiled at the man behind the counter. The man nodded and handed a clip board and a pen to him. "Fill it out and come back when your done." He said mechanically, as if he had been saying it all day. Riker took it and pulled Kitami to a seat. "You know how to write, right?" He asked with a small blush.

Riker frowned. "No. I know its strange. I can take the heads off of three packs of vampires with a hand tied behind my back, but I cant even write my own name." He sighed and handed her the pen.

The man behind the counter took the clipboard and then held out his hand. "Cash or credit?" He asked. Riker pulled out his black credit card again, and put it in his hand. "Credit." He sighed. "Any car preferences?" He asked. Riker only replied in one word. "Fast." Then a few moments later, he had been given a set of keys and pointed to a car lot to the side of the building. "Its yours then" The man sighed, then went back to doing nothing. Riker nodded, and grabbed Kitami again, pulling her out of the door and into a scarlet red Ferrari.
