“you will only know if you try.” Vinny gave Lawrence a little push to the door. “so there you go, get in there and deal with it. If you don’t you’re not going to get far in this game called love.”
Seeing Lawrence coming in the door josh pulled back from Adams touch. He smiled widely at Lawrence and waved. “excuse me I have to go talk to someone.” getting up he walked over to Lawrence. “Hay.” |
"Hi..." Lawrence didn't sound angry. He sounded sad, fearful, even. But, he did sound happy to see him.

reaching out josh gently touched Lawrence face. "sorry we did not get along." and he was sorry. sorry that he had hurt Lawrence, sorry that he had mistrusted Laurence's friend, and sorry that he had not tried to be nice.

Instantly relieved, Lawrence hugged him, clinging to him. "Thank you...I'm okay...I just...I wanted you to get along. You two are the only two really close to me...and I can't deal with drama..."

Hugging him back josh sighed. “had he not said what he said I would not have acted the way I did. I know its no excuse but it true.”
Behind them vinny walked over to Adam and leaned on him. “What were you doing brother? I can see your touch on him.” “I was not doing anything brother.” Adam smiled answering vinny’s question. “that is not true.” |
"He's overprotective of me..." Lawrence muttered. He must have repeated this several times over. "He's wary of anyone who comes near me. He's even wary of my family..."
He heard the two brothers talking but didn't address them--his attention was on Josh. |
“Well he is just going to get more accepting of me. I am not going away.” Grabbing Lawrence’s hand he squeezed it. “I love you too much to let you go.”
“We will talk latter Adam.” Vinny did not sound to pleased. Adam only smiled and walked by them. as he passed he patted Lawrence on the shoulder and said. “Don’t forget what I said.” |
Lawrence squeezed his hand in return, a smile on his face. "Good...because I don't intend on leaving, either. He is a good boy...he just...is not your average person. He says things stoically, without emotion, and that can be taken the wrong way sometimes..."

"are you going to want me to go on round two against him or shall we go back to school?" josh really did not want to go talk to Wyatt again any time soon but would try it if Lawrence asked him to.

Lawrence frowned. "...I feel kind of bad that I invited him here and ruined his day...can we go try again, please?" He knew Wyatt was disappointed with the day, but he wouldn't be anymore if the two of them made up.

Sighing Josh smiled tightly. “I will try my best to be kind.” He would try his best, but if his friend was still going to be that way then josh was not going to deal with him again.

Lawrence nodded, and then dug in his pocket for his phone, which he'd brought along with him. He called Wyatt again and asked him to come to the shop they were in. After he hung up, he looked like he regretted calling him. He really didn't want any drama to start up again.
After a few minutes, Wyatt shuffled into the store. It seems he'd bought some things from the local Hot Topic store while he was wandering around. |
nodding to Wyatt josh held out his hand. "hi I am Josh." might as well start off at the beginning again.

Wyatt stared at his hand before fidgeting and reaching out. His fingers barely brushed Josh's. "Wyatt."

"soooooo.." josh looked over at Lawrence and then back to Wyatt. "your friends with Lawrence are you?"

"Yes. There is an age difference, of course--he is fourteen and I am seventeen--but we have been close friends ever since he was small." Wyatt seemed distracted by something, but he was, for the most part, paying attention.

"how did you two meet?" ok this seems to be going a bit better. wounder what he is thinking now? josh motioned to the table. "shall we sit?"

Wyatt plopped down at the table, sniffing slightly--it seemed like he might be getting a cold...either that, or allergies were bothering him. "We live in the same neighborhood...now, anyway. I was born in Luxembourg, adopted because my family did not want me, and I emigrated here with my guardian once I turned ten."

"thats cool." and that was a lame comment josh, say something better. "so you like music?" so lame!

~He likes idle conversation--it's okay.~ Lawrence's voice was reassuring. He was keeping his distance.
"Rock. Metal. Screamo. Techno. Country and rap are revolting. Pop is not as bad, but not good, either..." It seemed Wyatt was very blunt about how he felt, about everything. |
"so what DO you like?" josh waved down one of the waitress and made an order of fries for the table. then after she left he realized what he had done. "sorry did you guys want something different?"

"Fries are all right." Wyatt was poking around at a loose string on his coat. "I like the first four genres I spoke about, and that is it."

"a bit picky? no never mind that comment." what to say to him. I dont know him. Lawrence why dont you say something.

~I don't want to interfere...why don't you ask him staple questions? Um...like about his family life with his adoptive guardian, or if he has any pets.~ Lawrence wanted them to get along so badly.
"Oh, I know I'm picky." Wyatt sniffed. |
"sooooo... Lawrence says to ask you how did you like living with your guardian?" if he was going to tell him to ask questions Wyatt would know who came up with them.
