As the students kept talking josh walked over to a desk and sat down. This was most confusing to him. Why were the other students not in their seats, and why were they talking so much. The desk he sat at was as far back as he could be without sitting on the benches against the back wall under the shelf’s. Those benches looked like they were there to punish students so he was not even going to try sitting there.
Suddenly in the front of the room the symbols on the board started to fall off it and a cloud of smoke appeared as they touched the floor. A voice boomed from around the room. “if you would please have a seat we will have this class started in a moment. For those of you students here that know what this class is about and have passed beyond basic studies, you will began your warm up’s in your areas.” a small group of students walked to different points in the room and started doing things that stunned Josh. The two younger boys that had been sitting in the pillows now tossed one back and forth without touching it. “if my assistants would come to the front of the room, I will have your assignments in a moment.” The curtains around the room slowly closed as the teacher spoke. This was Professor Angelo’s usually routine with the new students. As the last curtain closed the smoke disappeared and Professor Angelo stood before them. His long curly hair pulled back in a ponytail.

Noiselessly, the boy from the window turned and walked over to the front of the room. His coat was so long it gave him the illusion of floating, for it covered his feet up. He stood next to the teacher, glancing around at the new students. He wasn't fond of new students, unless they had special powers.

"I'm present," he murmured to his professor. "Tzalmon Eolian, of course..." He hadn't taken his hood down. He was hoping Professor Angelo wouldn't make him take it down--he had to have it up the rest of the day, due to complaining teachers.

Lunna Dea 05-23-2010 12:08 AM

Josh watched as the student seemed to float to the front of the room. To josh it was weird that he did not notice the other two students walk up to the front till the teacher spoke again.
“Now you all are here to open your mind and expanded your powers. For those of you who know what your powers are please pick up the book referring to your powers and start reading the first chapter.” Nodding to Tzalmon and the two others Angelo smiled, one of his fangs barely poking out over his lip. “it is good to see you again Tzalmon, William, Vern. I think this year I will be assigning you each to one of the new students that do not know their powers.” He looked back out over the class room. Students quickly pulled from the stacks the books that they felt fit them. Some of them after starting reading closed the book then started in on a new one.
Josh slowly leaned forward and rested his chin on his hands waiting for something he could do. This was nothing like he expected. Professor Angelo looked down his list of students then called out a name. the young boy, barely 10 called out that he was here. “William’s you take care of him.” After Williams walked over to the boy they went to a privet corner to talk. Josh bit his lower lip, this was not going to be good.

Mira-Charma13 05-23-2010 12:39 AM

Tzalmon paid the other students no mind at all. He didn't feel comfortable around newer students and was a bit miffed at this arrangement, but he said nothing. This was certainly better than being in his study hall--that teacher would never let him read his magic books in front of the power-less students.

He waited patiently to be assigned.

Lunna Dea 05-23-2010 12:45 AM

“Vern you’re to help mister Apperson over there. Though he is not new to this class we still can’t find his power, perhaps with your gift you will be able to aid him better.” Looking down his list Professor Angelo sighed. “as much as you would probably do better you mister Tosh I think I will put you, Tzalmon with mister Lynley.” Josh’s head popped up when he heard his name. Seeing that he was assigned to the hooded one he plopped his head back down. just great I get the teacher’s pet. And when he feel that he has done everything I it will be my marks that suffer for it not him.

Mira-Charma13 05-23-2010 12:49 AM

Tzalmon, after glancing around and finding the student his professor was pointing to, looked rather bored. But, as instructed, he headed over to Josh and sat down next to him, grabbing at one of the books to read it. Once he chose one, he peered up at Josh--he was a lot smaller. He didn't care to keep his hood fully up this time...and the loss of coverage showed not only the black bangs dangling in front of his face but also his very intimidating bright red eyes. He asked a simple question.

"Why are you in here?"

Lunna Dea 05-23-2010 12:55 AM

Josh’s violet eyes widened as he noticed Tzalmon’s red ones. “I have no answer to your question. And it is rude not to introduce yourself.” He was not going to allow this prick to push him around. If it was to much for the boy to work with others then he should never have becomes a TA. Josh turned to look at Tzalmon fully in the face. Josh’s eyes said he was going to be stubborn and that he was not going to take anything flack from Tzalmon.

Mira-Charma13 05-23-2010 01:01 AM

"If I'm not mistaken, you already heard my name from our teacher. And I heard yours, as well. Is there a point to introductions, now?" Tzalmon asked, idly. He rarely blinked. "Do you have any inkling as to what your possible powers might be?"

Lunna Dea 05-23-2010 01:05 AM

“It is still polite to introduce yourself.” Josh crossed his arms over his chest and leaned back in his chair. “And what part of not having an answer to your question do you not understand. I have no inkling what so ever on what I can or can’t do.” What is this guy dense?

Mira-Charma13 05-23-2010 01:08 AM

"...?" Tzalmon was giving him a rather blank stare, as if the word 'polite' was foreign to him. "Well. Let's start small, then. What are your talents?" Tzalmon knew that talents sometimes said a lot about a person's powers...

Lunna Dea 05-23-2010 01:13 AM

“Talents? Well if you want to count it as a talent I get kicked out of each school I am sent to after the year is out. Other then that I don’t really know.” The way this guy was acting was starting to get on josh’s nerves yes it was true he could be a bit nice, but compared to the way Lawrence acted when they first met this guy was ICEY and becoming the south pole as they spoke.

Mira-Charma13 05-23-2010 01:15 AM

Tzalmon seemed to notice Josh's distaste for him. "I don't usually hold conversations with people, so it is only natural that I seem cold," he explained dryly. "...How about academically? What are your best and favorite classes?"

Lunna Dea 05-23-2010 01:24 AM

“don’t really have any, to many times repeating the same class or getting new classes that I don’t understand.” [how had he known that I thought he was icey? Is it just the way I am acting that told him or can he read minds?[/I] Josh carefully looked Tzalmon over.

Mira-Charma13 05-23-2010 01:30 AM

"How do you think I knew?"

Tzalmon hadn't meant to answer Josh's unspoken question so quickly, but he did. He backpedaled a bit. "There must be something. Everyone has some sort of talent. You must think a bit more..."

Lunna Dea 05-23-2010 01:34 AM

Its rude to read other people’s minds the thought was scorching before a metal shield grew up around Josh’s mind. “I have never had a talent that I know of. Mom always complained about me not having one.” Josh growled. He did not like someone he did not know prying into his mind.

Mira-Charma13 05-23-2010 01:37 AM

Tzalmon paused, then nodded to himself. "Telepathy...promising...though a lack of control is evident...what else can you do? Shall we test you out with possible control of the elements?"

Lunna Dea 05-23-2010 01:47 AM

Josh was started by that comment. “what? What do you mean Telepathy?” pushing himself back a bit he realized the second half of Tzalmon’s comment. “um no!”

Mira-Charma13 05-23-2010 01:53 AM

"You don't seem to realize that you've just blocked my ability to read your mind," Tzalmon pointed out. "With a mental shield. You don't have control over it, yet. I will teach you how to use it, if you would like."

He then paused. "It will be safe. I can control the elements, though I am best with fire. Wait here..." He hopped out of his seat and went around the room for a moment. He returned to his seat with a lit candle. "We will start with fire."

Lunna Dea 05-23-2010 02:04 AM

Looking at the candle then at Tzalmon josh shook his head. “how about not and say we did.” this guy is NUTS! What does he think I am, some go ram Herald? he pulled out one of the books from the stack without looking at it. Holding it up josh frowned. The title a crossed the cover in gold was ‘WOULD YOU ALL BE QUITE?’ and in smaller letters ‘the questions that plague mind readers.’ Looking back at Tzalmon he sneered. “funny, very funny.” Josh tossed it back down into the pile.

Mira-Charma13 05-23-2010 02:07 AM

Tzalmon raised an eyebrow and then held his hand out. The fire from the candle's wick fled from it and floated in his hand, and he dropped it from hand to hand, to show him. "I can control it. See? He held his hand out to Josh. "Relax and concentrate...and try touching it. See if it works."

Lunna Dea 05-23-2010 02:13 AM

“No way!” Your crazy, there is no way! “how about you think of something else to test me on.” He did not really like the feeling he got from this guy. He seemed too pushy, very unlike Lawrence. Thinking of Lawrence josh wounded what he was doing now, was his class going well? What was he thinking of at that moment?

Mira-Charma13 05-23-2010 02:15 AM

"Fire is my best element. It would be harder for me to help you if something went wrong with a different element. We shall try this one first." Tzalmon kept holding his hand out, tilting his head a bit. "What do I have to do to at least get you to try?"

He noticed he kept thinking about 'Lawrence,' whoever that was. A boyfriend, maybe? Sounded interesting...

Lunna Dea 05-23-2010 02:36 AM

“no way, you’re not getting me to try that out. It would burn me if it did anything.” Josh had been told as a child that it was wrong to play with the candles, if he did that to much he would end up like his uncle who was covered in scars. Granted that uncle really was not a uncle just some picture josh’s mother had found to scare him. Pulling away from the CRAZY guy josh picked up another book, opening it up to a random page he poked it with his finger. ’ the ability to pick up an object and bring it to you, though not so rare a gift to have it is commonly not noticed by the testers because it is harder to control.’ That sounds interesting.

Mira-Charma13 05-23-2010 02:41 AM

"Interesting, indeed, but difficult to control and not for a novice who won't listen to someone who actually knows what he is talking about." Tzalmon was still holding the candle. "If you don't test this out, I'm afraid you're going to be rebuked by the teacher for not examining every possibility," he chimed.

Lunna Dea 05-23-2010 02:48 AM

“Gah!!! STOP READING MY MIND!” a feeling of annoyance and being naked washed over Tzalmon and the few other students near them. Half the class turned to see who had been yelling. Josh blushed and tried to slink down father into his chair. Great now everyone is looking. Professor Angelo who had been standing nearby walked over.
“Perhaps it would be best if you first taught him how to shield his mind from the rest of the world?” though phrased as a question it was a direct order to Tzalmon. A few near by students snickered then quickly went back to their work when Professor Angelo looked at them. “I am glad that you have found at least one of his gifts Tzalmon.”
