He needed to do it. He didn't want to do it. He had to do it. He was afraid to do it.

Rasputin, Razz for short, was pacing around outside the crumbling, abandoned building that was the Golden Saloon. It had been a bustling place in its earlier days, but it was starting to fall apart where it stood. It was also rumored to be heavily haunted.

Razz wanted to go on a ghost hunt for a school project he was doing on the saloon. He figured he'd film it and make a movie to show his class. Not that he really expected to find anything, but...it made for a good project.

He took a deep breath, his pacing quickening. It was nearly midnight. He'd heard this was the most active time for paranormal activity...so he'd gotten sleep earlier so he could wake up in time to do his hunt. But...he was terrified, and trying not to chicken out. He continued to mentally battle with himself, pacing just outside of the old building.

"It seems like I'm going to have a visitor tonight," a girl said to herself as she sat near a window at the front of the store front on the top floor of the old saloon. She sighed to herself before saying, "Why must people always come? Do they like beind scared or something?" She shook her head again before saying, "I guess humans just don't like to leave others alone. Oh well, this one seems easy enough to scare off."

Her body then melded into the shadows. Many would say her being there was just a trick of the eye, at least that's what she heard when people travelled out her way. As her body disappeared, a little girl appeared on the beaten road. From there Iritana, or Iri as many had called her, watched the boy.

From where she stood she could see he was different from the others, younger, well than the older humans, but this one was alone. Is he serious? She thought as she tilted her head to the side. She didn't hesitate after that. Trotting happily up to the man she tugged on his shirt a few times before saying, "Excuse me mister, you aren't planning on going in there are you?"

Iri tilted her head to the side before bring a finger innocently up to her mouth. "Oh, I don't live far away," she told him, a cheerful look on her face. It became serious soon afterward though as the little brunette girl shrugged her shoulders before pulling the baggy shirt back onto them. "B-but, you know it's, well mister," she then leaned closer to him as if what she was telling him was top secret. "Ghosts live in there," she whispered as she nodded to him, her brown eyes growing wide.

Oi vey, why must it always be the same routine, Irit thought to herself, her child-like appearance not giving anything away. She had done this for many millenia, it was almost like second nature at this point. Maybe this one won't be so foolish and I'll actually get to sleep tonight. "Why would you wanna do a pro-ject on here? What's nimportant?"

"But why here," Iri asked, her head falling to the side as her pig tails and bows bobbed slightly from the movement. "Issss so scary," she told him as her brow scruntched together slightly, her brown eyes playing a false sense of fear, though it looked more like the little girl was going to wet herself than anything. "Pwease don't go in there mister," she then said, a hiccuped voice being the key behind the words and fear at this point.

They're still doing this stupid project? Another mental sigh came from the demoness. This project had been around for as long as she could remember, it was also the start of the rumors. She was sure that they were nearly as old as the town, older than the library and the post office even. So I gotta scare this one out just to deal with another one next year, lovely...

The little girl growled slightly, quiet so he couldn't hear, but growled nonetheless as he stepped foot into the old saloon. "You're gonna pay for that mister," she warned him before vanishing all together. Once the little girl was gone that left Iri, in her usual form walking back and forth upstairs. "Now how should we start things off today?" She asked herself as she paused in the middle of the attic-like room.

"Well he seems scared enough, it shouldn't take too much to get him to leave," she then added. Taking a deep breath she held her hands out to either side and soon enough the building and its foundation begane to shake and bats were taking flight, racing one another to get out in case the building were to collapse. "Let's see how he likes this one."

He was still there, Iri could feel it and she sighed. Balling her hands the building instantly quit moving, it was like nothing had happened in the first place. As the dust settled back down she said, "Fine, try this one on for size then." Her eyes shifted to a bright greenish-yellow as she brought her hands before her face, pulling them to the sides dramatically.

She could see but the vision was not her own, rather it was a large python-like snake that was on the second floor. "There you are my darling," she said as the creature woke from its slumber under one of the beds. Uncoiling itself it slithered out of the room, pushing the door open as it went. Slowly it made its way down the stairs, Iri using its eyes to see what was going on.

Once on the main floor the large serpent stopped and rose it upper body up. Had it risen all the way its head would have hit the first floor ceiling. Nearing the ceiling, the massive head began pivoting as it looked for the intruder. He couldn't have gotten far, he's scared so look anywhere, she thought as she continued watching through its eyes.

The snake's large tongue flicked out and its instantly darted to the tables. "I think we found him," Iri chided to herself as the sanke lowered its body to the floor once again. It slithered across the room, circling in around the boy before using its massive tail to knock over the table he was under. Once the table was gone, the snake rose up, a hissing sound coming from deep within its throat. "So what are you gonna do this time boy?" She asked as a sadistic smirk came to her face. She was quite proud of herself with this one. Not many people made it past this one, if anyone did.

Ugh, this one is sooo frustrating, she thought perterbedly. The snake lowered its massive head towards the boy, its forked tongue flicking out across the camcorder lense. "They are all the same it seems like," she thought almost sadly. The snake then moved its head to the side so it could look at the boy better. Its tongue flicked out again, pulling itself across his face, its snake eyes meeting his starkingly blue eyes. "Hopefully this will get him out of here," she said to herself with a sigh.

"This kid just won't give up!" Iri grummbled to herself as she balled her hands beside her face and as she opened then she pulled them away from her. The snake pulled its head back as a king cobra-like frill spread from it neck, fangs pulling from it top jaw. "They all say that and yet you continue to come," the snake said to the boy, it's eyes turning more yellow than green at this point. The voice wasn't a hissy one though, it was Iri's softer, faminine voice.

The snake then sprouted legs which made it look almost dragon-like in appearance. "You can't tell me that more won't come, but if I end you here and now no one will come back ever," the snake then said as its jaw began dislocating and opening wide. Did Iri have any intentions on killing the boy, no, not really but he didn't know that.

The creature growled, Iri's frustration really showing through. Was she really going to have to let the snake bite his head off?! The creature really was becoming more dragon-like than snake, especially with the growling. It lunged forward at the boy, snapping its jaws before him, its tail that wrapped around the room lifted and thumped to the ground. "Leave boy!" The snake-like beast yelled at him as it brought its head back to strike again if need be.

"So you are going to just ignore my warning, is that it?" Iri's voice came once again from the dragon/snake beast. The tip of its tail moved, lashing out at the boy's camera. That had to be the main reason he was there. It was just a matter of how well he was paying attention and how well he was holding on to the piece of equipment.
