Kiona smiled at him, thankful. "They got it right. Thanks." She began eating her food, not really looking at him while she thought. She had no idea what was happening to her, though she realized it started with her wound. She frowned at her fries. It had been a long time since her own blood had drawn. But what would that have to do with anything? She rid her head of such thoughts and looked at Shane. "So where did everybody...." Her voice trailed as she realized something. "Shane, what happened to Ava? Is she okay?"

Darrien stayed with Ava as long as he was allowed to. He didnt like that she had blacked out but they were with medical professionals now, so they were in charge and taking care of it. He watched through the windows of the doors that he wasn't allowed to go through until she was out of sight. He went to the waiting room and sat down, staring at the floor and at his hands at times. He waited for any news that they could give him.

Hresvelgr 07-06-2010 02:17 AM

Shane looked up at her question. Then pulled e phone out. Shaking his head a bit before putting it away. "Honestly, I do not know. I was just checking to see if anyone called me, but nothing. They much have made it to the hospital by now. I am still worried though to be completely honest." Shane said to her. Looking up after and smiling a bit. "I am just glad we were able to get her out of there. All thanks to you."

A doctor came threw the doors not ten minutes after Ava had gone in. He looked around the waiting room. Then went over to the front desk, speaking with the nurse. She pointed over towards the Angels and the doctor went over. "Hello there." He said in a low public speakers voice. "I am sorry say, but by law I have to ask you all certain questions. Judging by Miss Ava Locke's wounds, she was in some sort of gang violence." He looked around at the group, stopping at Darrien. A smile came to his face. "Darrien! I did not see you there. Haven't scene you for a while around here. At least I know I can skip the questions now and avoid calling the police. Locke is all patched up. The wound where the blade entered has stopped bleeding, so unless it starts again, we don't want to touch it. Seems it missed some vital organs." The doctor said to them. "We have her in one of the intensive care unit now If you want to see her. She just woke up also." The doctor said to them all.

Kiske sat in a chair, a few seats away from Darrien. He had picked a random magazine while he waited to hear word about Ava's condition. Every once and a while, he would hear people mumble his name, but no one approached him. When the doctor came out and told them they had to answer some questions, Kiske set down the magazine and leaned forward in his seat. But when the doctor saw Darrien, he no longer had to ask question. Kiske looked over at Darrien and chuckled,"Dude, if you get out of answering questions this easily, I need really start bringing you on tour with us..." When the doctor told them Ava had woken up, Kiske stood up from his chair, then down to Darrien,"Well, let's go see how's shes' doing."

kionaredhawk 07-06-2010 02:57 AM

Kiona's eyes widened. "Ava's in the hospital?" She whispered. A tear sprang again. "Shane, I don't remember what happened to her." All she remembered was darkness and that there was something there that she needed to control but she had let it loose, only a little.

Darrien stood up as well. "I'm a cop, Kiske. It happens." He looked at the man standing in a doctors coat. "Thank you Doc. I'm glad it was you and not some newbie around here." He smiled weakly. "If you could show us to her room, we would really appreciate it." They followed the doctor to Ava's room. Darrien sat down next to her as close as he could get, really. He smiles a little, obviously forcing it. "How you hanging in, Ava?"

Hresvelgr 07-06-2010 03:06 AM

Shane nodded slowly. Reaching over and wiping the the tear away. "It is better that you didn't. Do you remember anything at all in fact?" Shane asked her. Completely curious. Sometimes when you could remember one thing, everything else tended to flow together. Maybe it would happen to Kiona.

The Doctor showed them to the room, then went ahead back to where the other patients where. Ava was between two curtains in front of the ICU nurses desk. Showing them that anything could go wrong with her at any moment. Ava was resting on two pillows and completely bandaged up. In her hand was her phone, though She looked up when everyone came in. Turning to Darrien who asked the first question. "I let someone die today." She said to him quietly. Funny thing about Ava. Always putting complete strangers before even her own health.

Raizo 07-06-2010 03:12 AM

Kiske followed the doctor to where Ava was. When him and Darrien got there, Kiske stood in front of the bed Ava was laying on and crossed his arms over his chest. When Ava spoke, he thought it was best to let Darrien do all the talking. Kiske wasn't one for emotional conversations. He was some how unable to make people feel better when they were down.

kionaredhawk 07-06-2010 03:19 AM

Kiona smiled slightly, though it was kind of dark. "I do remember lots of things but not what happened to Ava." She looked at him, thinking. "What....What did I look like? I felt something change, I think. I know whatever it was, I wasn't able to keep completely in check but I don't know...Nevermind. I don't think I want to know. You said it was thanks to me though, that everyone got out. How so?"

Darrien scowled at her. "Ava, that wasn't your fault. And you should really be thinking more about yourself at this point. At least, I would prefer it if you were. Maybe you will heal quicker." He smiles a little bit at that. He takes one of her hands in his. "How are you feeling, Ava, besides what you already said?"

Strawberry Kitkat 07-06-2010 03:23 AM

Ha-Neul followed them into the room, standing near the door awkwardly. She thought it probably would have been best for her to go back, but she didn't want to just up and disappear. She stood there quietly, her fingers laced together as she listened to Darrien and Ava talk.

Hresvelgr 07-06-2010 03:47 AM

"Well, you were the only one to really react to the demon. What took you over, I'm not sure. Though I can only guess we will find out soon." Shane told her. Being a bit vague. Though he really did not know. It was scary to see her in that way, but at the same time pretty awesome. "How do you feel by the way?" Shane asked her suddenly.

Ava looked up to him. Confused at first, but nodded. She then saw some of the others come in. "Hey guys." Ava then had to turn her attention back to Darrien. Since he seemed to be asking the questions everything wanted to know. "I feel very light headed. The doctor said a lot of my muscles will be sore since they were stretched and ripped. They are keeping me here since I have lost a lot of blood. But they also do not have any more of my blood type in stock. So that is being shipped in... Something else.." Ava said. Laying her head back down on the pillow. "Oh, I cant leave tonight, so I ordered pizza right before you came. Sorry about our date Darrien."

kionaredhawk 07-06-2010 04:01 AM

Kiona smiled. "Better, now that somethings in my stomach again. Thank you for the food. I'm still a bit freaked out though. And confused. Really confused. How are you holding up? Aren't you the youngest of us?" She took the last french fry, dipped it in ketchup and ate it. She took a drink of her water and smiled at him a little.

Darrien laughed. "Don't apologize. You'll just have to make it up to me later. Oh, thank you for reminding me. I gotta call my boss and let him know I can't come in tonight. Will you be alright for a few minutes without me?" He grinned and winked at her, showing that he was only teasing her.

Hresvelgr 07-06-2010 04:12 AM

Shane finished his food as well. Throwing the trash on the tray on front of them to throw out when they decided to leave. "Yeah, I am the youngest. I am holding up though. I have to say. This was not in the job description. You know...." Shane paused a bit. "Still, it is better than that pizza boy job I could be doing."

"Of coarse, Go ahead." She said to Darrien. Looking to Kiske and Ha-Neul. They seemed very bored. "You know, if you guys don't want to hang around here, you can go. Hospitals aren't really my thing either. You two appear very bored" Ava said, sticking her phone on the side table near her. "Thank you for everything guys. I wouldn't be alive without you."

Raizo 07-06-2010 04:21 AM

Kiske looked up at Ava, surprised that she addressed him and Ha-Neul,"Yeah, we probably should be going. Just wanted to stay a bit longer to make sure you were treated properly." A small smile found it's way onto Kiske's face. He uncrossed his arms and let them fall by his side as he sighed,"Alright, well, you have our numbers. Don't hesitate to call if you need anything that we can get you." Kiske stuffed his hands into his pockets and waited for a final response before he left.

kionaredhawk 07-06-2010 04:27 AM

Kiona actually laughed. "That, is very true. And I didn't sign up for this. All this...hocus pocus crap is just that, crap. I really can't believe it's real." She looked down at the table. "And it seems I've been a part of it for a while now. This is really frustrating. And confusing. And everything." She looked at him again. "Is this really better than a pizza boy job? I personally would love to just have my regular job and not have to deal with this, ya know?"

Darrien kissed her forehead quickly and went out side, taking out his cell phone. He dialed his bosses number and spent a few minutes explaining that he couldn't come in because of a family emergency, which was roughly true. He hung up and went back into the room and took up the same seat he had. He looked over at Kiske. "Your going then?"

Hresvelgr 07-06-2010 04:36 AM

"Yeah, I know what you mean. I have a feeling, that if we did some how get out, we would quickly miss it though. I mean the action is nice, not to mention the people. Everyone works together like one big family. But also, from what I have heard the calls can be very generous. Normally the awake person gets it, or if someone is sick they are left alone. Not to mention a place to stay. I was going to kicked out after high school after all." Shane said to her. Knowing he was saying a lot at once. But he was just trying to see the brighter side of things he supposed.

Ava nodded. "I am sure I will. Thank you again Kiske and Ha-Neul" Ava said to them both. A nurse came into er little curtain room thing just a second later. Checking the screens behind her, then looking down to Ava. Lifting the blanket a bit and checking her wound before going out and to the next person.

Raizo 07-06-2010 04:41 AM

Kiske nodded at Darrien,"Yeah, I'm heading out. I haven't gotten any sleep since the tour, so I'm gonna head back to the apartment and get some sleep." He looked over at Ava,"Don't mention it. As I said, call if you need anything." Kiske turned around and gave one final wave over his shoulder before walking out of sight behind the curtain and out of the hospital, into the busy streets of New York.

kionaredhawk 07-06-2010 04:55 AM

Kiona smiled at him. "A family huh? I haven't gotten that feeling. Of course, I haven't bothered trying to get that feeling. I don't like people, I guess would be a way to put it. And I like being by myself. And as far as the txts go...they can really ruin your day." She put her head on her arms on the table. Her voice was muffled. "Today would be a really really really good example of that one."

Darrien waved goodbye to Kiske as he left. He smiled over at Ha-Neul. "You could always stay too. It's not like we're trying to kick you out or anything like that."

Hresvelgr 07-16-2010 12:14 AM

Ava pushed herself up a bit. Knowing she was not supposed to. But she felt awkward just laying on her back. She looked up to Ha-neul who still had not answered. "I have to thank you both. I wish I could do it when everyone is together. But thank you both." Ava was still settling over the fact she had died. Or at least he heart completely stopped for thirity seconds. What she had scene brought an all new level of confusion to her. Ava closed her eyes. Bringing a hand out from under the blanket. It had two needles coming out of it along with a strong rope burn around her wrist.

Shane paused, deciding to change the subject for her. "You work with animals.. right?" Shane asked her. Very suddenly it seemed, but he did feel bad he seemed to be making her think about things that she did not like very much. Not that he could blame her.

kionaredhawk 07-16-2010 03:45 AM

Darrien looked at Ava, a stern cop look occupying his face suddenly. "You shouldn't sit up yet Ava. Will you sit back down?"

Kiona smiled at the floor. She lifted her head, resting her chin on her arms so she had to look up at Shane. The smile actually seemed real. "Yeah. I'm working on becoming a vet, even though I dont' go to school. That's how come I can bandage things up, stitch, clean, whatever with most wounds. You learn it on animals, its about the same for humans. One reason I wasn't so worried about my scrape on my arm..." Her voice trailed off and her smile dropped. That, to her, seemed to be the root of her problems, like that triggered it. She sighed. "Sorry."

Hresvelgr 07-17-2010 04:02 AM

Ava laid back on the pillow. "I can't get comfortable. Everything hurts." She replied back to him. Moving back down, and onto her side facing Darrien. She covered her face suddenly with the white blanket, taking a deep breath as her emotions started to hit her. Something she rarely tried to let happen. Though Ava popped back out just a bit later. Her eyes were a bit red, but she held it all back. Especially with Ha-Neal still present.

"That is really cool. I love animals. I used to have a lab, but he ended up getting cancer and we lost him. Since then though, my mom adopted two more smaller dogs. They are mixes. Although one of them is part poodle and never shuts up. She still loves him though. I miss Spiky though. Our lab." Shane said to her. Ranting a bit himself. But he did like dogs. "But wow. I don't know if I could handle the stress of being a vet. I mean that one ass that walked in that abuses his animal.. I think I would kill him. Ya know?"

Raizo 07-17-2010 06:49 AM

Kiske was taking him time to get to the apartments. He tried to keep his head low, trying to keep people from noticing him, but with blue hair he ended up attracting a whole lot of attention. He had signed about fifteen autographs within ten minutes of him leaving the hospital. Kiske kept his hands in his pockets as he looked up at the sky, while walking mindlessly towards the apartments. He took his hand's out rub them through his hair when he heard tires screeching. He looked down and from side to side, trying to find out where the sound came from. When he found the source, he jumped to the side, his hand falling and slapping the hood of the speeding car that drove by him. When the car started to drive off, Kiske followed it and flipped it off, yelling,"What the hell's your problem?" By the time he had settled down from his pedestrian road rage, he realized he had chased the car and was standing in the middle of the street. The next thing he knew he was flying through the air and pain was surging through his legs and lower back. When he hit the ground, his ribs hit first, then his head slammed into the ground. His vision was starting to go black, but the burning pain in his lung kept him conscious for a few more seconds, until his head rested against the asphalt, his body motionless.

Strawberry Kitkat 07-17-2010 11:17 AM

Ha-Neul blinked, and then blushed when she realized they had been talking to her.

"O-oh, no, it's okay," she said lamely, smiling. "I really should get going too. I hope you get better soon, Ava," she said, before turning and slipping out of the room. She took a deep, shaky breath, rubbing at her eyes before heading off into the busy streets. She started making her way to the apartments, shivering in the cool air.

A few blocks from the hospital, she heard a commotion. She came around the corner and saw a crowd gathering in the middle of the street, an excited murmur passing through the crowd.

With a frown, she headed closer, peering over the crowd. "Oh my god!" She shoved through the crowd, kneeling next to Kiske. She rolled him over gently, frantically checking his vital signs. "Somebody get help," she yelled, sending several people running, others pulling out cell phones.

kionaredhawk 07-18-2010 03:39 AM

Darrien smiled at Ha-Neul and waved as she left. He turned to Ava, all traces of a smile gone. "Everythings going to hurt and probably for a while. Please, take it easy?" He wanted to hold her hand but he wasn't sure if she wanted that right then.

Kiona laughed. It was a nice laugh, compared to earlier ones. "Yes, yes I do know. Often times I actually end up...'speaking' to those people in private, without my boss knowing. Trust me, most of them never touched their animals in a mean way again." She smiles. She knew Shane was changing the subject on purpose and he had picked the best one for her. She appreciated it. "Anyway, your mom has dogs? Could I meet them sometime?" She looked at the table. "If that's not too much to ask."

Hresvelgr 07-18-2010 03:52 AM

Shane smiled. "Of coarse it is not. I am sure she would love to meet a good friend of mine. Especially one how is not a stoner. That is always a plus." He said with a small chuckle, feeling the phone in his pocket vibrate. He pulled it out quickly. Seeing the time on it. 5:53. "well, like you said. Our job sucks. I have a feeling I have to go towards our home though. Want to come?" Shane asked her. Slowly getting up.

"I am trying." Ava said. Hiding her face a bit. Though her eyes were poking out. They were a bit red and puffy. Obviously showing she was choking back a few tears. "I'm sorry.." She muttered under the sheets, then whispered in a low tone, "I was so scared Darrien."

kionaredhawk 07-18-2010 04:01 AM

Kiona stood up. "Your a kid. You'll need all the help you can get." She winks at him. "How much time do we have?" She began walking towards the door.

Darrien's face softened. "Me too, Ava. I think we all were." He got up and changed positions, sitting on the bed but careful not to bump her. He leaned over and kissed her forehead gently, well, as gently as he could anyway. His voice was a low whisper. "It's okay to cry."

Hresvelgr 07-18-2010 04:16 AM

Shane looked down at the clock on his phone. "Twenty three.." He paused at the time changed, "Twenty two minutes. I'll race you." Shane said to Kiona. Taking a running start down the street. Not really waiting for Kiona at first. Though he stopped at the first block. Turning slight and waving her on. "Come on! You have to watch us kids! We be stupid!!"

As she felt the kiss on her forehead, Ava turned her head slightly, kissing his lips softly. A small tear slid down the side of her face just before she broke the kiss. She also reached out and took one of his hand. Just holding it. "some of the things he said... I don't know." She whispered still.
