I like thunder cats and X-men!

EirianHikari 06-02-2010 12:10 PM

@Cookie: Yeah I know what you mean, I never payed attention to any of those things when I was little.

For-Chan Cookie 06-02-2010 12:11 PM

I know! I love Thundercats and X-Men. Granted, I can't watch He-Man and She-Ra eps these days without giggling my buns off, but they were cartoons for CHILDREN! They might aim some cartoons, like Avatar the Last Airbender at both kids and adults, but back then? It was all about selling toys to kids. They didn't care if it was a quality show, only if they had a gimmick that would sell.

Kiako 06-02-2010 12:12 PM

Oh, hey Cookie! *is pounced* Sorry it took so long to reply, I was dumping my flowers into the machine (:

For-Chan Cookie 06-02-2010 12:12 PM

Kiako doesn't love me *slinks into the corner*

Oh! Oh! We're almost to the 2,000th page! *dances*

GwenaHikari 06-02-2010 12:13 PM

I don't think thats necessarily true. although maybe in some cases. I think its more they didn't have the modern days standard of quality we have now for kids shows.

Kiako 06-02-2010 12:13 PM

Nuh huh!!!! I loves Cookie!!!!! *sits beside Cookie and hugs*

For-Chan Cookie 06-02-2010 12:16 PM

@Gwena - In the case of the X-Men, not so much, but for those other shows? Don't fool yourself. Transformers were created specifically for the purpose of selling toys. GI Joe was also revived in cartoon form to sell toys. But animation standards are also a big factor. I mean, you really can't compare the Clash of the Titans movie that they just released with the original one. The technologies used are just worlds apart!

@Kiako - Ok. *snugs*

Dante's Inferno 06-02-2010 12:16 PM

*giggles, hugging Cookie* So, how was the rest of your night love?

Oh yeah, I am using this account, because I am in Power hour XD

For-Chan Cookie 06-02-2010 12:17 PM

Meh. Most of last night I kept the tv on for no particular reason. Watched a bunch of food network.

GwenaHikari 06-02-2010 12:17 PM

I don't watch much modern tv or movies. most aren't that great in my opinion for various reasons.

Dante's Inferno 06-02-2010 12:17 PM

Oooo food network  Did they cook anything interesting on it?

For-Chan Cookie 06-02-2010 12:18 PM

I've been doing a fair bit of babysitting lately and the thing about babysitting now as compared when I used to be a teenager is that today you plop the kids in front of the tv. So I've been watching a bunch of their cartoons and ugh. I get that humor these days is laughing at stupid people and stupid things, but do we really have to start melting the children's brains with that drivel at such an early age?

@Dante - It was grilling/barbecuing night. So Alton barbecued in a ceramic flower pot while Unwrapped looked at barbecue chips and marinades. Then they had a steak cooking challenge before I finally made myself turn it off.

GwenaHikari 06-02-2010 12:19 PM

When I have kids, they ain't watching tv. well except for select things

For-Chan Cookie 06-02-2010 12:22 PM

I've babysat for both of the families that have lived across the street, both with two children, a boy around kindergarten age and a younger girl in pre-school. It's pretty much the same with both families. Turn on Nick Junior and let the kids be hypnotized. Which isn't to say that the kids are completely calm, because they climb over me like monkeys, but then cry if the tv is blocked, but yeah. Their life focuses around the tv. The boy is even enamored with the damn commercials.

Dante's Inferno 06-02-2010 12:22 PM

Oh my god, that sound absolutely mouth watering. My neighbours and I are planning to have a Barbeque in the next week. Of course me being the only girl and knowing how to make an awesome marinade, I am getting stuck with the prep, but my neighbour Eric will provide the singing and guitar while we cook. I am excited! ^.^ If you can make it up to Montreal, you can come Cookie XD

GwenaHikari 06-02-2010 12:24 PM

@cookie but nick jr doesn't even play good cartoons anymore. most cartoons for those age ranges lack storylines. they treat kids like their dumb and can't understand basic concepts

For-Chan Cookie 06-02-2010 12:24 PM

Sounds awesome, but there's no way in hell that's happening unless you invent teleportation in the next few days and can assure me that I won't arrive with my butt stuck to my elbow. :gonk:

Dante's Inferno 06-02-2010 12:25 PM

No promises ^^'

TharThresch 06-02-2010 12:26 PM

Good Morning Wallflowers! ~poses sexily showing off his Nakedness~

For-Chan Cookie 06-02-2010 12:27 PM

Hi Thar. Sexeh :D

Dante's Inferno 06-02-2010 12:28 PM

I will invent one for you Cookie, but its the butt to the elbow... that might be a litte hard.

Hey Thar!!!!!

TharThresch 06-02-2010 12:29 PM

Hey you two. Talking about teleportation? Anything and everything is possible for the Wallflowers!

Rinrin 06-02-2010 12:30 PM

RINRIN IS BACK from her daily daydreaming

*hits her head on the table repeatedly* I hate it when I get so tired at day DDx!
AND I can see that THERE'S PEOPLE IN HERE OWO

For-Chan Cookie 06-02-2010 12:31 PM

@Dante - I just don't want to arrive as a quivering ball of pain with my teeth imbedded in my liver wheezing to "Kill me!"

@Thar - Dante must invent teleportation in real life so that I may travel to Canada :D

Hi Rinrin :D
